    Re-incarnation

Rupert would probably think of himself as the latter day embodiment of Julius Caesar. His track record suggests he is the reincarnation of the Roman Emperor, Nero, fiddling as Rome burnt.
  2. St Juste from Darlington.
  3. I am pleased to hear that it did.
  4. I heard Rupert was trying to negotiate a reverse takeover of Saints by Woolworths.
  5. Did Eamon Collins ever play for us ? He was a future star brought from Blackpool under Alan Ball's recommendation, for which we received a fine for enticing a youngster from their academy. I can claim to have seen him play when he reached his natural level playing for Colchester Utd at Cheltenham in the then Vauxhall Conference.
  6. Was that in the Branfoot era ? Other notable future prospects signed by Branfoot were Gary Ferguson a young Irish midfielder from Reading for £25,000.Actually Reading were keen to offload him for disciplinary reasons but we paid them for the privilege, and he was even trumpeted by IB as "one for the future" at aRadio Solent broadcast. Branfoot also brought two in from Scotland,Paul Sheerin for £7,500 (!),and Colin Cramb, neither of whom made the grade or appeared for us.
  7. No he should stick to "secular analogies" and biblical references in future.

  9. ...and defend libel actions.. Where exactly did the award from that case end up ?
  10. Amazing how peoples perceptions and view vary. I respect your view from whatever you have witnessed etc but for me Kenna was one of the most over estimated players we have ever had,and it disappointed me he seemed to set back Dodd's progress.I was amazed and delighted we got £1.5m for him. Mills, yes he did an excellent if unspectacular job for us at a difficult time. Dodd, agree he was a good captain and offered a lot but in terms of tackling and going forward he was nowhere near Golac.
  11. I heard him say it was only a "secular analogy" though, so thats alright.
  12. But did he go on to achieve anything elsewhere to suggest the decision to release him was wrong ? Sorry if I misunderstood the rules of the thread.
  13. Where is this as you drive from the stadium exactly / Sorry but not familiar with the names of Hi-Q etc.
  14. The story sounds a bit far fetched to me. However I realise we have for some time been slipping towards -not only administration- but becoming Ruperthampton F.C playing at the 'Rupertdome'.
  15. Ditto. Golac simply has no rivals for this in my book.
  16. Shame we can not force the Eurovision hierachy to accept Norton to compere it annually (or should that be anally ?) for the rest of europe to witness. In retaliation for their constant rigged voting they we could make them suffer the spectacle of that pouting queer for an evening every year.
  17. Something that might have been overlooked by Mr Burley however. As for "come on you greys", the simple remedy is to change the last word to 'Saints'.It has often irked me that we sing 'reds' (MancU and L/pool are the 'reds' we are the Saints ) as we don't play in plain boring red shirts.
  18. They played together for us just before, and during the early Keegan era.Surprisingly they didn't strike me as a particularly reliable duo especially away from home.
  19. Interesting dilemna there really, especially after the last time we drew those mancy c^nts in the cup.Are we going to see a Saints side similar to the one we currently - and pre 1/1/09 regard as our strongest take the field - or one that is minus some of our better players. Frankly the cup selection in 2005 was one that left me feel hugely cheated before a ball was kicked, never mind the capitulation that followed.
  20. A replica of Hilda Ogden's "murial" would indeed be a fitting epitah to the soap opera we have become.
  21. John McGrath With either Michael Svennson - never has an injury to a single player been more costly- or Jim Steele, especially for 1/5/76. For this to be a 'greatest' Saints team it has to embody the greatest spirit of Southampton;that is the team spirit of The Alehouse. And no one brings that quality more than John McGrath. Jimmy Gabriel by the way would be a first choice sub who could play CB,midfield, and if needed centre forward.
  22. Morcombe or Cheltenham Town away.
  23. Another cost cutting measure by that b^stard Rupert no doubt.
  24. That makes a change from his usual facial expression which lokks as he has just sh!t himself.
  25. Or Adolf and Eva .
