  1. its probably his 'spiritual home'....until the Tottenham job is offered to him that is.
  2. not that I am aware of. Did see her on one programme where she was moving her right arm,but keeping it fairly straight and wrist/hand at a permanent right angle.Does that count ?
  3. Camilla ?
  4. His "big gambles" have a record of seeing us relegated. You and I can see it,as can most people with a modicom of football knowledge. The only daft bastard oblivious to it is Lowe.
  5. Therein lies the enigma of MLT. Genius, brilliant player and a one man rescue mission for us when we really needed him.But for all his skill and talent - which was undoubtedly world class-when he was at his peak,he could not always conform to a system of play, unless he was central to it. Perhaps, just perhaps, and as unpalatable as it seems we can now see the difficulty faced by a number of Saints and England managers in accomodating him. Of course on individual merit on he should be in a Greatest Saints XI,but it may need to be adapted for him in formation or style for him to be effective.
  6. Billy Davies will probably end up at Charlton or Forest.Whereupon we will see his new team slowly climb the league table. Perhaps he is not ideally suited to Saints, but the above just stands out as an inevitable outcome.
  7. I feel sorry for Jan given the resources he has. Frankly I doubt JC,with his all disciples as backroom staff could make a go of it working under Lowe.
  8. Terry Paine. No debate.Full stop. Paine would take this position entirely on his own merits as a RM,but the thought of Paine and Golac working on the right, possibly with some triangular passing involving Channon and Ball is an awesome one. Paine and Golac on our right, pity any poor bastard attacking down the opponents left. You must be joking, there is nothing close in that contest,Paine was light years ahead of Wallace in ability.

It is incredible how in a short space of time one man can undo the work of Ted Bates and Lawrie McMenemy. For all of his efforts,Ted (God bless) and Lawrie might not have existed. Take a bow Rupert Lowe.
  10. That would be my expectation ,and fear also.
  11. ..and someone to take advantage of the good passing football ie put the ball in the net.
  12. I agree with those who think anticpate JP is heading out. I feel desperately sorry for the bloke who always comes across as decent and honest. But of course he is handicapped by having f^ck all resources, and Rupert hovering in the background. If he does go,it will probably be by "mutual consent" and we can expect the customary Rupertspeak about how he didn't sack him etc etc.Of course there will be no possible thought that it might have been a flawed or risky decision in the first place.

    Re-incarnation

Rupert would probably think of himself as the latter day embodiment of Julius Caesar. His track record suggests he is the reincarnation of the Roman Emperor, Nero, fiddling as Rome burnt.
  14. St Juste from Darlington.
  15. I am pleased to hear that it did.
  16. I heard Rupert was trying to negotiate a reverse takeover of Saints by Woolworths.
  17. Did Eamon Collins ever play for us ? He was a future star brought from Blackpool under Alan Ball's recommendation, for which we received a fine for enticing a youngster from their academy. I can claim to have seen him play when he reached his natural level playing for Colchester Utd at Cheltenham in the then Vauxhall Conference.
  18. Was that in the Branfoot era ? Other notable future prospects signed by Branfoot were Gary Ferguson a young Irish midfielder from Reading for £25,000.Actually Reading were keen to offload him for disciplinary reasons but we paid them for the privilege, and he was even trumpeted by IB as "one for the future" at aRadio Solent broadcast. Branfoot also brought two in from Scotland,Paul Sheerin for £7,500 (!),and Colin Cramb, neither of whom made the grade or appeared for us.
  19. No he should stick to "secular analogies" and biblical references in future.
  20. bumworm
  21. ...and defend libel actions.. Where exactly did the award from that case end up ?
  22. Amazing how peoples perceptions and view vary. I respect your view from whatever you have witnessed etc but for me Kenna was one of the most over estimated players we have ever had,and it disappointed me he seemed to set back Dodd's progress.I was amazed and delighted we got £1.5m for him. Mills, yes he did an excellent if unspectacular job for us at a difficult time. Dodd, agree he was a good captain and offered a lot but in terms of tackling and going forward he was nowhere near Golac.
  23. I heard him say it was only a "secular analogy" though, so thats alright.
  24. But did he go on to achieve anything elsewhere to suggest the decision to release him was wrong ? Sorry if I misunderstood the rules of the thread.
  25. Where is this as you drive from the stadium exactly / Sorry but not familiar with the names of Hi-Q etc.
