  1. Rupert does like to surround himself with some mysterious people...the one common denominator though is that they all know f^ck all about football,or football in England anyway. Actually I thought the bloke looked like Rupert's minder. If KVDW can get on with Lowe I suspect a bit more digging and we will establish his father or grandfather collaborated with the Gestapo during the occupation of Holland.
  2. Of those mentioned I think only Boothroyd,Dowie or Cotterill might make an immediate impact that we need.Longer term I don't think they are such a great option though. Would ideally like one of the above three until the end of the season, and a review of it then depending on how they get on and possible availability of say Tisdale to build it up.

And 10,000 supporters have been absent for the last 12 months but Rupert hasn't really noticed.

  11. Johan Spastic. Of course Rupert could still be taking informal advice from Hoddle;our recruitment policy of recycling youngsters to give another chance does have a similarity to his academy.

  13. I suspect with two "hosts" there will be one less qualifying place to go for though.
  14. If its another Lowe footballing innovation then it is more likely to be Tim Van Der Half Witte. Or a public school acquantance Tim Nice but Van Dimme. Sorry not mocking, nothing would surprise me about any Lowe appointment.
  15. Quite a few goalies on loan over the years,Colin Boulton,Jim Montgomery and Chris Woods.
  16. Scored a couple of much needed goals at a desperate time for the club. Your memory is correct, unless Sundance can tell us anything different !:smt044
  17. I have often asked the question on previous threads as to why SISA has not been reformed but still to see any answer. Living out of the area and in the pre-internet days I always felt SISA was pretty effective for the Branfoot days and was sorry to see it disappear.I presume its demise was due to egos/internal squabbles ,or had just run its course once Branfoot was no longer there.
  18. Perhaps we need a protest or a boycott to force Nick Illingsworth to stand down,or at least his supporters to abandon him. Then, and only then can we talk about a protest or boycott to get rid of Lowe. Sorry but this seems a bit too reminiscent of whether we want to be the Judean Peoples Front or The Front of the People of Judea.
  19. Sorry FF,but for clarity is "he" Salz, or Lowe that is not showing the aptitude ? I assume you mean RL,but you might know more about Salz's actions on the periphery of things.
  20. That would be the best we could hope for at the moment.
  21. I totally support your intention and belief Weston. The problem in this is the over simplification of part A,which if you read or say it quickly enough sounds simple and easy. However,I expect both Crouch and even Wilde - during his COYR 'lets get our club back' phase -have attempted this without success. Other than out of desperation is anyone likely to invest - money,or even time -now ?
  22. Just a feeling: 1) manager this month? Yes.The record at home dictates that JP goes, even Lowe will realise or JP will resign. 2) manager this year? 3) chairman this month? No 4) chairman this year? Yes.RL will eventually be forced out.
  23. Dare I suggest it is this obsession with a "bigger name" ,at the expense of obtaining the best candidate perhaps, that is likely to cost us.Sure Dowie is a bigger name, but largely because he has his fair share of failures behind him. Agree with you about the suggestion of Marsden.Completely fanciful and bordering on the choice of simpletons, along with suggestions of 'Benali,MLT,Nick Holmes 'etc.
  24. Yes.I have suggested the same. However having gone through the turmoil at Exeter would he want to leave them whilst they are still in the ascendency, for us ? Especially if it meant getting caught up in the Lowe-Crouch crossfire.
  25. Can't we sign Billy The Fish, and the big breasted red indian squaw this transfer window whilst we're at it ?
