Guaranteed to score more goals. I also remember the summer when people thought Phil Boyer couldn’t replace Mike Channon. That didn’t turn out so bad.
-
Had hoped for Edwards to feature this season. From everything I’d read I was quite optimistic about him. Hope he returns to fulfill the potential with us next season
-
Hope you’re right but seems a bit premature to make this claim after one match v a piss poor Ipswich
-
Well intentioned but posturing lot of bollocks.

Only player I recall who even looked shit in his YouTube highlights

A common factor is that both windows started with having managers out of their depth for the EPL. Winter 2023 was a desperate throw of the dice to try and retrieve a dire situation. ( Partly brought about by failures in the market 2022. No striker for Ralph). Summer 2024 was a different thing as it gave an opportunity to set the club up and build on the momentum and success of the previous season. But we totally ballsed it up. 2024 is the more damning of the two. (Been pretty crap every year since Koeman left really)

Don't worry the SR Geniuses have still left us the mouthwatering prospect of the Sheffield Utd dream team of BBD and Archer , who may even be adequate in the Championship. Should be at a combined £25m
-
Have just read that West Ham’s head of recruitment, Steidten, has been sacked after Potter brought his own man in. Not suggesting he should be considered for us, as it appears in his time with them he’s upset everyone in the managers post. But wonder how West Ham appointed him with ease and without the Work Permit saga we’ve now got.
-
But does he hate Pompey ?
-
Agree with this. Despite the limitations at Premier League level I’ve always liked him and he’s always put his heart into it. Sadly can’t be said of several we’ve signed. Would like him back next season in the Championship, but think it’s unlikely. He’s now back with a proper manager who knows how to get the best out of his players. Expect AA will want to stay at Hawthorns.
-
Would have liked to have seen Archer go to Leeds with an obligatory buy if promoted clause. Great opportunity to recover our outlay, £18m or whatever it was.
-
Would like to see him back next season with us in the Championship but realistically if his loan has gone through then I’d be surprised if he came back, or wanted to.
-
Mmm …. no obligation to buy.
-
Just beat Derby’s record before we switch off completely though
-
This has been my take since he arrived, but I don’t really see how the transfer window has either reinforced this or changed anything. Given our league position we were unlikely to spend big (by our standards), and you can’t criticise the club for that stance. Had Juric overseen an upturn in form and won four or five of his matches so far we could have been in with a shout of staying up, and perhaps we’d have dug deeper to spend( Not blaming Juric for that by the way).
-
And then he won’t play for them either … but the £ will more than make up for that
-
Not disagreeing that it’s the thing to do.
-
But that’s part of the question. Even if Spors was with us at DoF would the negotiations fall within his role ?
-
Definitely preparing for Championship then. If true.
-
Stephens ? At least he wants to play for us.
-
Who is actually responsible for negotiating deals after the target has been identified? Even if we have a DoF in place, would that rest with them or someone else at Bosrd level ?
-
Were the deals related in any way ? Just hope we didn’t make concessions on the SAA deal (% sell on etc) expecting them to be reciprocated for Sylla.
-
Perhaps he was wearing ear muffs before going on air.
-
Hadn’t heard of him until the last 24 hours so won’t lose any sleep over him not signing. The loan with option in our position isn’t a great arrangement. Likelihood is if shows anything of note and we want to sign him,he’d piss off somewhere else in the EPL.
-
Fuck off else somewhere else I'd have thought. How much did we waste on him and Salisu?
