Irrespective of how he may perform next season in the Championship, it probably wasn’t what we were looking for when we shelled out £15-18m (depending on reports) in the summer. Bearing in mind we bought him for this season, he’s been a failure. Let’s judge him on the job we bought him for rather than where we are next season and his efforts have contributed to.

Cooper wouldn’t be my first choice but what absolute bollocks ! Completely ignoring his achievement there. Forest were bottom of the Championship when he took over in September 2021. And you think they were promoted at the end of that season despite him, rather than because of him. That’s quite a fluke isn’t it ? Or perhaps he was just lucky. If he was the choice, why not bring him in now ? I expect he’d leave Sheff Weds given all that’s gone on in recent weeks, and they’re out of contention for the play offs. We’re already down so it wouldn’t be on his record as having taken us down (if such things matter), and he could have a few weeks assessing the squad. Unless of course we’re looking to avoid the compensation dispute we had with Swansea.
