  3. Wonder how many Tifosi have laid out their half and half scarf on the side like that
  4. Ahh the law that is widely flouted by pretty much everyone who operates a personal service company
  5. You Are correct, they don't pay tax in the local country of the offshore fund, however what that means is there is a bigger pot to distribute to the investor who then declares that as income in their home country. If DC had invested in a fund in the US to buy us shares, the US government would have levied 30 odd % tax leaving 30% less income for DC to declare and pay tax on in the UK. So by investing in a legitimate fund in a low tax overseas jurisdiction, DC created a circumstance where he would pay more UK tax, not less. not all offshore investment vehicles are dodgy, however most dodgy investment vehicles are offshore. People need to bear that in mind.
  6. Only for the cretins
  7. Whitey, I would have agreed with you a year or so ago, however they have recently introduced a new system which I have to said is properly efficient. The immigration queue at Miami airport used to be one of life worst experiences with up to two hours in a sweltering hall, when I went there a couple of months back, the fingerprinting and questions they ask are now done on banks of automatic terminals and it prints out a slip which you show to the official before exiting. It took just an hour from the seat of the plane to the seat of the hire car.
  8. Quite - I travel regularly to Singapore and Hong Kong - just a stamp in the passport at the airport. I went on holiday to South Africa, Maldives, Barbados and mexico - guess what, just a stamp in the passport on arrival. Apart from having to complete a landing card on the plane there really isn't much to inconvenience you.
  9. A duck walks into a bar and says to the barman "Got any bread" Barman says "no" Duck "got any bread" "NO" "Got any bread" "NO and if you ask for bread again I'm going to nail your bill to the bar" "Got any nails" "No" "Got any bread"
  10. Whilst this quote is from 2012 - I believe it is still relevant and a good insight into the longer term if we stay in "My vision is one of political union because Europe needs to forge its own unique path. We need to become incrementally closer and closer, in all policy areas," the chancellor said. "Over a long process, we will transfer more powers to the [European] Commission, which will then handle what falls within the European remit like a government of Europe. That will require a strong parliament. A kind of second chamber, if you like, will be the council comprising the heads of [national] government." "And finally, the supreme court will be the European court of justice. That could be what Europe's political union looks like in the future – some time in the future, as I say, and after a goodly number of interim stages." Angela Merkel http://www.theguardian.com/wor...
  11. Damn right, you need to include saudi, yemen, Iran, Gaza, Palestine, Afganistan, and Israel on the oblit list
  12. Considering you flounced off in a huff from Papsweb when Pap compared you with the EDL, maybe you should refrain from calling other posters closet BNP.
  13. So this drug is for heart conditions and is rarely prescribed. Since WADA banned it on Jan 1st, there have been 99 positive tests for it. thats a lot of really sick elite athletes.
  14. Deal or no deal

    E-Cigs

That move has nothing to do with health and everything to do with tax, as this extract from the guardian article suggest "Last December, the commission warned that failure to harmonise excise duties for e-cigarettes could have “significant long term budgetary implications” for countries, leading to national taxes being levied that over time could threaten the internal market."
  17. With regards to our motor industry - being in the EU didn't prevent the transfer of the Transit plant from Eastleigh to Turkey, and all the uncertainty regarding our in / out status didn't dissuade Aston Martin agreeing to create another 750 in Wales last week.
  18. To reallyget the press on your side, your should conduct your interviews through your car window.
  19. That bit of him is already at Old Trafford
  20. £200 would be fair What I would do is charge him £600 pm, stick £400 into a saving account and he can use that as a deposit when he gets round to buying
  21. Trade will not just disappear - we will still buy mercs and they will still buy dysons
  22. In 2014 we exported £226bn to the EU. We imported £288 bn - they stand to lose more by getting stupid about trade
  23. I am Hilary Clinton - 96% WTF
  24. I would absolutely hate it if Spurs won the league, however I would doff my cap to them with gritted teeth. However, I am of the opinion that he will join a big club when they come knocking - There are going to be a few without managers this summer. and when he does, oh how i will laugh.
  25. If United and City start a bidding war and the price goes north of £30m, I'll drive him up there myself
