Absolutely, but it hasn't even been a week since the best thing that has happened to our club for years occurred. Even Gordon Brown got a honeymoon period -
Fry should have just wound the bloody club up...

Fry was right to sell the club - he should have liquidated some of fans. Perhaps that was why ML got such a good deal. "The club is worth about £50m but as it comes with an infestation of miserable gits, I will give you a heavy discount" -
odious little git. Great player, average manager, cr4p human being. Rather have his dog as manager

...or 5 seconds for that matter

It is pretty conclusive. I don't think one person has come out in favour of Adams. Sorry Tony but I just don't think you are the right man for the next 5 years.
-
After a quick Euphoric fix, I have to admit that I am somewhat disappointed with our new owners. They started off well with some decisive action, however it has been almost 24 hours since they did something newsworthy. I just don't think they are taking it seriously.
-
Perhaps ML did the decent thing here. Was always going to fire him but gave the nod to Fry to extend the contract so Wotte could get a decent payoff as a reward for his loyalty.

I was being sacastic. I do not have any love for the Insolvency Profession as a whole, I just don't think that Fry is personally to Blame - he acted as any administrator would in these circumstances. I have seen much worse and the overall outcome for the club is positive.
-
The fees being charged by the Administrators seem about right given what the Insolvency profession tend to charge. This was a particularly complex deal, so I don't think we were ripped off by Fry - any administrator would have charged the same. The issue is with the profession as a whole and how they can justify charging huge sums, especially for clerical work (I have seen £100ph + in the past). Unfortunately the way the law is currently written they can pretty much do what they want. In fact Fry should be commended for leaving something in the pot for the creditors. A more skilled administrator would have found a way to absorb a much greater portion of the pie.

This must what a lottery winner feels like the minute they realise they have won. They sit there staring at the ticket wondering if they have read the numbers right, got the right week and is it an elaborate hoax. I think I will embrace the warm feeling of smugness for quite some time.

Lowe has left us with one legacy for which we should be truely thankful. Whenever anyone on here is feeling miserably or is the witty repartee dries up on all the other threads we can turn our collective gunsights on Lowe to pass the time. No other former chairman has ever given a greater gift to so many. Thanks Rupes

I worked for Mike Richards in the 90s. He is a decent bloke who does really care about Saints. I know for a fact that he worked as an unpaid director of Saints for many years when Askham was Chairman (don't know what the situation was post Askham). I remember the "bloke in the red scarf" piece that he published a year or so back and whilst there was a lot of crys of PR spin, I thought it summed up Mike very well - a Saints fan first and foremost
-
He demonstrated a quality that is sadly lacking in Football these days - loyalty. For that I thank him. Both he and Kelvin have have shown that there are at least a few decent people in the game.

We need some old experienced hands through out the squad. We are going to need them to get out of this league, the pretty stuff can wait until the Prem.

It may be that Adam has become "big headed", it may be that his head has been turned by the bright lights of the bigger clubs (he is only a kid after all) but it just may be that the style of management that he got last season didn't suit him and he wasn't motivated effectively - is that completely his fault? It doesn't matter what job you do in life, if you don't like your boss (or his style) and are not motivated then you will not perform at your best.
-
No no no... Biggest Teddy chucker in football
-
I want the skates to survive and contraversially to remain in the same league as us where ever we may end up. Why, well I want the opportunity to stuff them at least twice a year, may be more if you throw in a couple of cup games.

LOL. Classic

At the end of the day the new Boss didn't create a huge company by appointing idiots - I would guess that he is a pretty good judge of character and he likes what he sees in Andy. One option is that ML has had a good look and the internal workings of the club, thinks it could be done much better and needs some big and quick changes made. If, as many say on here, AO is a complete B4ast4rd then he could well be perfect. For me what is important is to get the front of house sorted quickly i.e. the team. That is the most pressing concern.
-
Sounds like ML is putting in a short solution at the top to buy a bit of time whilst he decides who will do the best job going forward. AO could be in a similar position
-
You never know, ML may have recognised the strengths that AO has and is going to restrict his remit to that. As for man management - If he is poor here hire someone who is good at it. Everyone has weaknesses. The trick is identifying what they are and doing something about it. Until the rest of the board / Team ML is announced is it going to be difficult to determine what he is going to be upto. Alternatively, it could be a short term appointment for continuity purposes whilst ML gets a grip on what is going on. Who better to tell you what the issues are than someone who has been in amongst it before.
-
Thank God for that -I swear this saga has visibily aged me
-
LOL fair point. If we get to Europe can I have the T shirt printed in Swiss German - Might be a little less conspicuous and I would feel safer walking to SMS
-
did I read on here somewhere that Liebherr in english is Man Love? All the away fans are going to have a field day if it is.
