  1. Good win - and all the results are going our way. The seven teams above us have either lost or are losing. Oh and pompey lost. It's about as good as it can get
  2. Get in!!!!!
  3. The four teams above us, tranmere, wycombe, leyton orient and of course yeovil are all losing - Could be a great weekend
  4. Just tuned into solent as unsurprisingly excited about prospect of winning. Merrington opens his mouth and I am reaching for the razor blades. He must be the most boring miserable git on the planet.
  5. LMAO at this thread - Saints fans b1tching at each other - who would have thought it.

    Ironic

Six games in and the rumblings about sacking Pardew have started. Unbelievable.
  7. It is not SMS. It is poor performance on the pitch, uninterested players, unsetlled management, uncertainty over survival, negativity from the fans that has made SMS what it is. Is any one really surprised by our record against that backdrop?
  8. Does anyone else on here think it is a bit sad when a seemingly innocuous post descends into to name calling and sniping. From a business perspective the idea is sound and they should get on with it (in my very self important opinion)
  9. Have to admit that I am astounded that we have sold this many in League 1. Fantastic news. BTW what is the league 1 record?
  10. Last season a top two finish needed 89 points, so on that basis with our 10 point penalty we will need 99. Can anyone realistically see Saints winning 33 matches in a season where we are rebuilding. As much as I would love it, it does seem to be a bit of a stretch. This season is all about consolidation, those fans who have set their hearts on promotion are likely to be disappointed come May. And before anyone starts I am ambitious, I just temper it with realism.
  11. I agree. People who are positive and motivated and believe in the cause are less likely to leak information. Those who are demotivated, peed off etc are likely to be b1tching to anyone who will listen hence the flood of rumors coming out of SMS prior to ML and S0d all since.
  12. After watching that save it brings back to me just how good he really was. He is a saints legend and served us admirably. He was the equivalent of a 25 goal a season striker IMO. If he chooses to go to Pompey, thats his decision. I'd rather he went to, say, west ham but if the skates turned up at SMS and he walked on the pitch I would stand up and applaud him.
  13. I'm disappointed he has chosen to leave, but I am beginning to get the jitters as there seems to be more outward transfer than inwards at the moment. I know that a certain amount of patience is required, I advocated as much myself, but it still making me twitch.
  14. I am off to the gee gees today and, for the first time in years, I will be able to claim the footballing high ground over one of my wife's friend's pompey supporting husband. Is it wrong to feel smug?
  15. Didn't know that. I guess there must some initial investment required. Clever lot the germans. Must be that Vorsprung durch technik business
  16. I can see the trust fading away but NI, i suspect we will be hearing from him again....and again...
  17. I think that is exactly what the taylor report was trying to prevent. I cannot see SFC installing a standing area only to have restate it as seating as soon as we get promoted. Good to dream though.
  18. To be fair not many of the "numbers" have been done justice recently
  19. Fair Play to NI for being vocal about his views and trying to help his club. Many fans hide behind their computer screens (and I include myself here) and snipe from cover, whereas NI gets up, says what he beleives and opens himself up for attack. I don't always agree with what he has to say and his claims of being the voice of the fans often irritates me, but I respect him for getting invovled. The trust has probably reached the end on its natural life. I suspect the original mandate of the trust has been achieved so it should either reinvent itself as a supporters club or bow out gracefully.
  20. Saints First, second and third Coming so close to oblivion may me realise just how much I love them. Sniff.
  21. Dear Markus I would like to put myself forward to undertake a comprehensive study of the worlds beers so that you will be able to make an informed decision about which beers to stock. Yours faithfully (hopefully) CB Saint
  22. Saw AP on SSN this evening saying he was carrying a couple of unmotivated players who intended to remove quickly. I am paraphrasing here, but he seems to be on it.
  23. And if we do, happy days. But I would be happy with the the original time plan.
  24. We may struggle in League 1 this year, afterall we are handicapped with a 10 point deduction let alone the state of the current squad. But this all about a long term planning. I think they were talking about a five year plan. So... Year 1 - League 1 survival Year 2 - Promotion Year 3 - Survive in CCC Year 4 - Mid table / maybe play offs Year 5 - Promotion to Prem I would be happy with that. Although I suspect that it will not be enough for some.....
  25. When you say peak condition, do you mean peak condition a la MLT or peak condition for current prem players. It will make a huge difference
