One of their biggest issues here is that there seems to be more spokesmen and advisors than playing staff. The net effect is that all the dirty linen get washed in public and spun to the benefit of which ever interested party leaked the story. Even if they did find someone with money to burn who would buy the club, they will have a massive problem trying maintain confidentiality without someone bragging about the deal.

I guess they must have gained weight cos the floor managed to hold up at the previous weeks weigh in.

This is my favourite. The man could win awards in stating the obvious.

Marvellous stuff

I think we are taxing the banks on certain types of bonus, however the banks have a lot of people who are a lot smarter than HMRC so I am sure they will find a way around it. On the radio they were saying that a lot of the banks have already repaid the loan with interest. The money than the US government haven't recovered was given to companies such as GM and AIG. As the US govt cannot ever see any chance of recovering it from the motor and insurance industry they decided that the banks can help out. Plus Obama can score a few approval points as it will be popular with the US public. I won't shed a tear though.

Not sure how to pronounce his name but am hoping that it rhymes wit "my arse is sore"

Just read in the Telegraph that Belgium is just about to run out of Stella and Leffe beers due to blockades by factory workers. Funnily enough Hoegaarden is made in the same factory but there are no reports of any shortages - can't think why

I suppose the question is this. If the bloke concerned had lost the accumulator bet and had returned to the bookies to get a refund what would Ladbrookes have done? If they would have refunded the bet then fair dos, however, If they would have refused to pay up, then they should pay the man the £7.1m. It does seem wrong that they won't honour the bet. Surely they have to put these bets in a computer system which would flag the issue in the first place. The online guys can do it.

Are you talking about dog?
-
As a non dog person, this is the bit I don't get. How do you tell what a dog is like? As far as I can recall, every owner of every dog that chewed up a baby has said the dog had always been docile prior to the attack.

In reality just how much good is lifting the transfer ban going to do them. Ohara will return - so no change, but they still have to persuade the clubs that they are good for the money. The tv money is as good as gone, they are still £3M in the hole after that. Ban or no ban, they are still stuffed. I bet they are glad that the snow is off the agenda now. Imagine what a few postpone home games and the associated loss of revenue would do to them now. I have now put my trust in HMRC to get the job sorted. They don't have the image issues that the EPL seem to have. Let's hope that they have their figures straight..

I would either run around like a headless chicken for 5 minutes before crawling to the touchline and throwing up, or pull my hamstring in the first 30 seconds. My suggestion is if you were betting on me to be first scorer - make sure you choose the first half

I really hope this is true - for agents to be classed as football creditors would be a joke.

Does anyone on here actually drink this stuff?
-
I am not sure that increasing taxes will ever be the solution to binge drinking. In Iceland booze in bars is brutally expensive and the off licenses are state controlled and really expensive, however, I have never seen so many paralytically drunk people in one place on a Friday or Saturday night. They get absolutely bladdered dispite the cost. .

A while back Job site jumped on to the pompey bandwagon after spotting an opportunity for a cheap shirt deal. How bad does it have to get before Job Site decide that the publicity surrounding Pompey is beginning to impact it's own brand? I am not entirely sure that I would want my business associated with the carry on down there. I cannot imagine that Job Site are "Proud" sponsers at the moment

Quote: To the Dumb or dark side of hampshire who continually inhabit our board we are 38 places above your rotten inbred team and with all your Billionaries money (which hasnt been seen so far this season) can you tell us why wasn't your team playing today ?- no undersoil heating & this in your so called state of the (f)art stadium = no investment just millions robbed by woopert & this despite the old ******** of the thousands of years you have been in the "top flight" Portsmouth have fought for the last 20 odd years to get to the premier and we are premier league , you are NOT you have the temerity to come on here and say you are a big club -- we dont rely on "piped fans" for an atmosphere at our ground & we dont have half our ground close cause we cannot afford to police it ! WE ARE POMPEY so fecking do one! He does seem a tad sensitive

Great news. Exactly what is required. What's next on the shopping list?

Why shouldn't health companies charge a higher premium to those people who have a greater risk of developing a certain illness. It would be fairer than increasing premiums on a blanket basis on the criteria of age.
-
I can't see the EPL lifting the embargo until PFC can demonstrate that they have enough cash to cover operating costs (wages) for the rest of the season. You can imagine the headlines if Pompey miss next months wages after shelling out £4m on another player. Even if they pick up free transfers the scumbag agents will still want paying.
