  1. Yeah, until he looks in his bank account today and discovers that he hasn't been paid.
  2. Haven't been in the loop today and 500 posts have been added on this thread. Can anyone summarise the goings on today. Thanks
  3. They have been quite cunning here. They still own the asset. They have got some cash in and got rid of the wage bill. Plus if the loan becomes permanent in the summer, then something will have turned up by then or if they go bust, they won't care about any sell on clauses.
  4. Hamster Great news How's the head this morning? Best wishes CB
  5. The Echo does have form for this. They routinely place a story regarding large employers such as Skandia and B & Q on the front page irrespective of the its importance as they know its boost circulation by a significant percentage. Whilst they have a job (I cannot call it a moral obligation like some) to print the news, they are a commercial organisation and impact on circulation will always figure into what they regard as newsworthy. Some people do buy papers based on headlines. Why else do papers chase exclusives? If the echo ran a story with the headline "Wayne Rooney signs for saints" then people will buy, beg or borrow a copy.
  6. I see they have a fax number as well. Very useful things faxes. Can convey all sorts of messages on them.
  7. You missed the biggest one of all - Fletcher. Can't stand him.
  8. Do you work for BA?
  9. Bl00dy cyclists. If the council bother to provide you with a cycle lane, use it. Get out of the road and stop holding me up. FFS
  10. HMRC has really gone to town with the winding orders. How many clubs? Obviously ol Alistair Darling has discovered that the cupboard is more bare that originally thought.
  11. and when you see them next I 'm sure they will thank you profusely for posting their personal lives across the web.
  12. Classic lawyer stuff - never show your hand until you have to
  13. It is not solely down to anyone, but NC has had a large part in the resurrection of the club. He was the one who persuaded ML to put his hand in his pocket. He has also proved very capable (as far as I can tell) in running the club from day to day. I accept that there are many people out their who would be equally capable, but remember what our recent track record is for appointting chaimen. Lowe (twice), Wilde and Crouch. Now we have a good un we should be thankful and the club should do everything it can to hang onto him. As to whether he could have prevented administration....impossible to say as it would have largely depended upon when he got the job. If he were appointed at the time that Lowe got a second bite, then no - we were finished by then. Otherwise who knows.
  14. A question on loan players. Does the club who owns the player still pay the player and recharge the club the player is lent to or does the player get paid by the club he gets lent to? I'd would have guessed the former option as the player is still registered to the first club. If so any player getting lent to Pompey won't care about the financial situation as they are guarenteed their money.
  15. more like the finger
  16. This picture is worthy of a caption competition.
  17. Jesus what a carry on. Murray wants to know why NC hasn't got round to meeting him? Well probably that he has a 1000 more important things to do other that massaging the ego of a tabloid hack. As for NC leaving - I hope not. The club is in such a different place than it was six months ago and a good part of this is down to him.

    Spiders

Oh yeah...try convincing the good lady wife that a huntsman is almost domesticated. She is from the "Mr Spider meet Mr Shoe" school of thought. I have heard that they jump - is there any truth in that?
  19. If they are going to be saved, let it be by some local businessman consortium who have had to scrape together the purchase price and have little left to buy with. If they keep getting arab owners, it is only a matter of time before they snag one with serious money.
  20. Didn't say he had to be good at it.
  21. On the subject of Westwood. Does SFC have a fan who is as equally irritating / infamous / self promoting / loathsome?
  22. Bootnote We leave it to readers to guestimate quite how many bottles of vodka the club will have to hand over when Bulgarian airbag platform Jordan, aka Katie Price, rolls up to the door. Have I missed something here? If so she has the funniest eastern european accent I have ever heard.
  23. grew one when I was in my twenties. After three weeks it started to turn ginger - needless to say I haven't tried again
  24. Best of all, it probably personally cost Stu £1 to teach you that.
  25. Still laughing
