It's another two weeks delay to be fair. Gods knows what will happen in the meantime. Delay, delay delay - that the name of the game here.

Ever watched a cat playing with a mouse? It is almost cruel now.

Come on say the magic words. "Pompey it's with regret..."

Thanks Weston I get the football creditor now. The rules of insolvancy haven't changed, the football creditor doesn't rank above the secured and preferred creditors. After the administration is complete i.e. there is nothing left in the pot and the new purchaser has bought the assets, the new purchaser goes to the league to "buy" the golden share, which just so happens to cost as much as the outstanding football creditors of the club. All perfectly legal and morally reprehensible. And I have just realised that if PCFC manages to shaft HMRC completely then I as a taxpayer have just lost 50p.

What a great read - I have laughed non stop for half an hour. Pompey are hanging onto the edge od the cliff by their finger tips and the taxman is stamping on their hands. AAAAHHH HA HA HA HA

In that case, the Inland Revenue will have to do what it usually does in these situations and change the law, banning this type of creditor. Maybe too late for Pompey, but it should be in time for one of the big ones like Liverpool

Luis Figo did well...so did Van der Vaart

Has the Inland Revenue ever challanged the Football Creditor rule? I just saw this comment from the FT Graeme Levy of Olswang, the legal practice, says that Portmsouth’s insolvency will put those creditor rules in the spotlight. “This is the first time these rules have been applied,” Mr Levy says. “It is questionable whether they are consistent with the laws of the land.” The rules should be abolished, says Stefan Szymanksi, economist at Cass Business School, and not just because it favours rich young footballers over first-aid volunteers. “It undermines the incentive of the league to put in place some self-regulatory mechanism to control the finances of the club,” says Prof Szymanski

Ahh...that will be why he disagrees with points deductions

It takes longer than six months to build a squad and get the playing at the highest level week in week out. Geez. How long did Fergie take to get Man U ticking along? I would be disappointed if NC did anything rash before the end of 2010, although who knows. I have heard (this is forth hand) that NC is beginning to enjoy the trappings of power and has meglomaniac tendancies but I still give him the benefit of the doubt at the moment. I believe the original source was involved with the club previously so I don't know if there is an axe to grind.

Just watching MOTD. It won't be the 9 points that sends them down. It will be having to send back Jamie O'Hara to Spurs. He runs that side.

I agree with your sentiments re terry - a non person in my eyes *****il he scores the winning goal in the world cup final then I suspect most men in the country will be offering up their wives and girlfriends) But re the world cup, thats Bridges decision to miss out not Terry's. Bridge has got one foot in the plane if he wants. I think he will regret this decision for the rest of his life. Oi mods - sort out the swear filter. I typed Open brackets until and got censored.

There was something in of today article stating that the PL will allow the club to raise finace against future income. This is the PL's weapon against any spurious legal challange against the points deductions. "You appeal those points and we are going to pull the rug out from under your feet" I don't blame them / administrator for trying anything, if I was on the hook I would wriggle like mad too, but if they somehow avoid the points, get bought avoiding paying the tax man and still stay up (and that is entirely possible) it will be a bitter pill to swallow.

Christ - feel sick. Why did I click that link.

Don't torture yourself, it will never happen.

£73,000 to do the laundry?? - FFS don't let my wife see that.

The guardian blog is the biggest load of guff I have ever read. I am loving Gordon Brown quote in the times article. "We remain concerned that fans and communities of football clubs like Portsmouth shouldn’t suffer because of the inability of clubs to manage their finances properly." ...says the expert in managing finances properly.
-
Aaahh....stage payment due then.

This is where the football creditor rule is so wrong and IMO has no place in football. Clubs are multimillion pound businesses and should be treated as such. The thought of a players being paid out before office staff makes my angry.
