I was surprised at the total package of the bbc director general - £838k.

I find the ignition is quite helpful

I'm a traditionalist so I decided to go right back to basics. Raided the neighbouring village, selected a comely wench, bashed on the head with my club, dragged her backed to my gaff by her hair. Could never understand why she wasn't waiting for me when I got released, though

Beginning to suspect Dr Who works for a marketing company and these threads are a cunning way of developing customer profiles on us.

Tescos salt beef on rye sandwich is nothing short of sensational

Waterloo - a creamy cheese a bit like brie - made in hampshire Tastes best when it is crawling. Although nothing beats cheddar for cheese on toast

How p***ed off would you be if you got to the top and found out you had forgot your screwdriver.

Which is the worst supermarket around here? Asda in Chandlers Ford has to be up there and Sainsbury's in hedge end had me feeling particularly murderous within a couple of minutes.

Good Grief. Dune, you can be a proper p lonker on occasions. You ever wonder why people don't take you seriously.

Everything is expensive, from paperclips to champagne. Its not tax, it the high labour costs that drive up the prices as the manufacturers / retailers have to pass them on.

"Forget" to shut the van door and drive round corners very fast.

In Norway i believe its about 14% and rises based on employees earnings. That said, The high tax rates mean that everone is paid much higher salaries and as a result the cost of just about everything is far higher that the UK. The scandinavian countries have the same issues. Norway, even with their oil income, have a long term pension problem.

Castro (allegedly / perhaps maybe)

This is a good one On this basis the folowing aren't proper jobs - driving instructor, air stewardess (for FF), chefs, waiters, bar staff, gardeners, engineers, architects (unless they are designing school and hospitals) in fact anyone who works for a "for profit" company. Or you could be taking the P***

Trouble is just as many respected economists believe that cuts are needed. That what makes the current eceomic situation scary. No one has a clue. Only time will tell who was right - Tory or Labour.

Thats not strictly true. The tax and NI that public sector workers pay to the treasury was originally paid to the public sector worker by the treasury in the first place. Their net pay is likely to be greater than the dole they would get so the country would be better off. Actually this is rather simplistic and doesn't take into account the effect of the money earnt by public sector workers being spent. Re the unions, its interesting watching Barber trying to play down the hard liners such as Crowe et al. Barber is actually a very smart cookie and knows full well that the public are very sensitve to union action - just ask Bassa.

Sounds a bit like that bogus gang rape at petrol station one that was doing the rounds a while back Probably fake

Terravina in Ashurst is good if you want to push the boat out - great wines (the owner is the best sommelier in the world - true fact).

Encouraging Interesting points made, my thoughts and some conjecture Perhaps the pre season was what finally did for AP (silly money spent, unconditioned players) and a straw (however) finally broke the camels back last week. NC dislike of the media comes from his inability to control them and inherrent mistrust. I dont mean control in a proporganda way but delivering the message actually and when he wants. I think this is naivety on his part through not having experienced the english press at work. I hope he realises that the best way to get your message across is to cosy up to them. Just look at saggy. To the press he can do no wrong, but then he always makes time for them. NC could do himself a favour and get some media training.
