  1. My grandad was a Burma veteran and he never bothered. He always thought it was used just to raise funds for the British legion pubs for old men to get legless in.
  2. That's very subjective. To a lot of black people in the UK it isn't meaningless.
  3. Because sometimes....just like you....he has some interesting a valid points....but you have get through a lot of stuff to see some of the points he's making. This is after all, form most (BLM) about black people seeking equality and remember when I said I was always suspicious when someone shouts "marxist!!"....there you go. Nothing is ever totally good or totally bad; you always have to wade through stuff to get to the heart of the matter.
  4. You just seem to be getting very aggressive about something you've not even looked at.
  5. It's not getting me angry...appears to be you though. Free speech was always with the proviso of being "with the confines and parameters of the law" Ducky...you should know that...you should also know it's highly open to interpretation.
  6. you don't follow him on twitter then.
  7. Yeah, but you've got to wade through all the other stuff he throws up like his fondness for retweeting that dodgy COVID-19 denier and stuff like that which makes him come off as a bit of a crank which is totally at odds with the relaxed and very friendly reputation he gained whilst playing.
  8. Probably right.
  9. Le Tiss's twitter craziness is worth a thread on it's own these days.
  10. Le Tiss retweeted something Matt Lucas said about it being alright to be friends with someone with totally different views on twitter...someone promptly wrote "you must have a lot of non-racist friends then Matt!"....He quickly took that down.
  11. In the old days it wasn't.
  12. Just gonna leave this here....never thought I'd see this!
  13. They do seem to be reading intp the "defunding the police is nonsense" anything they like to fit their agenda.
  14. Knew you'd like him! I cringe when I go around my dad's (who's just lost his father to COVID-19) and he's got him on when he starts going on about his coronavirus conspiracy theories. Or how one minute he's talking up the polls when Labour are getting absolutely stonked, but when they looked like they were levelling out, he starts calling them crooked and corrupt ...This probably says it all about Mike... (even my dad points out he only puts on people who agree with him....some might say the same about James O'Brien however).
  15. There are one or two reasonable presenters but I find Hartley-Brewer, Wotton and Mike Graham tend to drown them out a bit. I mean, Mike Graham is worse for COVID-19 conspiracy theories than Matt Le Tissier.
  16. It was Talk radio when my nan was addicted to it. My grandad had to hide the radio in case she spouted any of their usual derogatory views. And before you say, that was a Burma veteran who just passed who said, as I recall, most of the people expressing their views on there like the idea of war and nationalism but don't really have a clue what it's really like...I suppose it attracts extremes from both sides.
  17. Ah Talk Sport. You know it's bad when you realise James Whale is the moderate one there. Mike Graham is the funniest.....in a quaint 1970's kinda way.
  18. Obviously not; this is the country where even Neo Nazis shout "all lives f*ckin matter!!!" lol..........which seems like they've turned over a lovely new page.....or maybe not, just putting the spray can and the dog's shyte away for a while.
  19. He (Trump) says he didn't know but I remember reading that some of our spies had suggested that Putin has something on him in connection to a prostitute / Russian spy so no doubt he'll keep his mouth shut. I'm more interested in what he shared with his mate Bannon and his besties Cummings, Farage and the blonde buffoon. They're all up to their necks in it. Must be absolutely desperate for Biden not to win in November.
  20. Always makes you wonder if the German aristocrat Marx was thinking the same as them. I just think some people who either hate it, or claim to be it probably don't know much about it or have an interpretation of it similar to that of cat's race in Red Dwarf's of Dave Lister. I mean, I probably agree with Peter Engels when..."He claimed that the term was being abusively used as a rhetorical by those attempting to cast themselves as real followers of Marx". I mean, I wouldn't claim to know a huge amount about Marx's writings and am not a Marxist myself but there are lots of branches. I do know that it was a popular trope by many right wingers in the context of the cold war to justify their iffy racial views and such. I do think organisation like BLM may consider themselves offshoots of organisations like ZANLA and ZAPU and a few other black African liberation movements trained by communists in that they see them as the "enemy of my enemy is my friend" a bit like we did with the Russians in world war two if you get my drift. Difficult one.
  21. I'd probably ask why they want to be Marxists and do they know what it really means.
  22. We've an ex-goalkeeper who once was a soldier for a white minority regime who used the term "we're fighting marxism" (when we know what they actually were doing was fighting to keep their racist regime in power against the natives who found the only countries willing to help being communist and they used the word "evil marxism" to cover themselves). Their official twitter account has gone off a bit but I always look with a bit of suspicion when someone immediately shouts "evil marxists!"
  23. Thing is, if Trump is implicated in letting Putin off the hook on putting bounties on the head of US and UK soldiers, we MUST have known about that too.....And yet people whine about BLM being traitors to this country, I'd say that's nothing compared to that.
  24. Margin of error there Ducky. Keep clinging; you were 24 points in the lead a couple of months ago and Starmer has just overtaken Boris in the popularity polls. Plus, here's another one suggesting both Labour and the Cons are losing out to the greens and the libs....can't really see that either.
