  1. My part-time job at a retail company beginning with a D and ending with an 's uses Yodel a lot for their online ordering system and they're always moaning that it's god awful; Yodel kept on telling them that they couldn't guarentee a morning delivery; I think it went right up to the top level and Yodel were instructed that if they couldn't, they as such a multinational company would take their business elsewhere. From a personal level, I've used them and find them god-awful as well.
  2. Just been twittering and I thought I'd have a look at how tfcwtb Westwood is managing to cry into his beer when, surprise surprise, his account has been suspended BONUS!
  3. Exactly and I'm sure there are a few more cases we can't remember. Although, I dare anyone to ask Pepi or Daniel in Pepi's barber shop (of which I've used for years....quality hair cuts at reasonable prices ) if they've ever considered doing a Sweeny Todd! I'm telling you though, that area is cursed!
  4. To be fair though, IF you look at Paynes road (Shirley right? near Foyes corner) it's a smorgasbord of murder and foul play that area is. Let's look at the evidence: In the 80'sabove what is now (surprise surprise) a Polish shop, a southampton Jeweller was murdered, http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/news/features/crimefiles/truecrime/4692941.Who_killed_our_Ricky_/ More recently, a man killed himself and his 2 kids on the garage there. http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/1718421/Southampton-dad-David-Cass-kills-his-2-kids-and-commits-suicide-at-garage-after-phoning-estranged-girlfriend-in-Hampshire.html There is also a case in Cawte road where a woman stabbed her husband to death a few years ago. I'm telling you, that area is cursed!!
  5. I must admit, even with a masters degree in IT I've been confuzzled for years as to this account number bizzo; in the end often just manually going down to St. Mary's myself to buy the ticket (although, championship or premiership, I think I'll attempt to renew my season ticket this year as the last two have been a blast). I've followed the 2380 directions, it works fine and after all the confuzzlement I can now say I'm sorted, thanks go out to the poster who suggested it might be on my old membership card.
  6. That interviewer was rubbish!! legend of a player though!
  7. I have never understood why Belfast are so vhermently celebrating building the thing. They used flawed steel rivets which failed and killed a great many people. They also gave assurances that it couldn't sink...which was wrong. Celebrate what? shoddy workmanship?
  8. It's ironic is it! The conservatives (you know, the ones who are doing their very best to conserve our NHS) appear to hate the "workshy" disabled "scroungers" but they appear to be handing the tools to the mentally inept to qualify for the benefits that she'll no doubt be turned down for!
  9. Are my memories fading or did he actually seem like an OK guy to begin with?
  10. And I love it how Nicola still found time at the end to have a pop at West Ham concerning them thinking they're a premiership side or thinking they're already there.
  11. Must not make a joke about the pleasing fact that St. Mary's is incredibly accessible to the wheelchair-bound these days concerning vegetables must not, really must not arghhhhhhhh
  12. Gas? in the Midlands? I blame it on the curries!
  13. Yes, The flame will go around the pitch, probably at half time, Cortese issued the statement a while ago.
  14. obviously the most hoped for situation is that we were mathematically promoted at the pompey game and they were mathematically relegated but I don't believe that is probable or possible....shame really.
  15. I'm still trying to work out where the tangible benefits are in making "the mostest noise ™"......nope, I've still got nothing. Also Dubai Phil, perhaps my nan singing is a good example, she's god-awful, sings quite loud, but the only way I'd give her money for it is if she shuts up! (sorry nan!)
  16. SIMPLE: They don't say that about other teams because it is not required. They don't NEED justification, they don't NEED to be constantly told how good they are. We are fans, paying fans ok, but all that is important is the team and the people that run it and frankly, if they have said that, you don't think it insults their own fans just a little? Basically, those are ignorant, arrogant and rude statements that mock every other club by those so-called names playing up to the crowd they current are in the vacinity of.
  17. But does noise generate any financial benefits? is it sellable? is there any tangible gain from it? No, most definately not. So the pompey fans can bang on as much as they like about how passionate and loud they are but in today's business orientated game it means NOTHING if the numbers do not match it. It kinda compounds the theory that PFC and it's supporters are trapped in a time-warp and from an era long since passed and have no real understanding of football today.
  18. so true. I feel a leaning towards equality and fairness i.e. the left as opposed to the party of inequality but these are ancient ideals these days as they're all very much into inequality these days.
  19. Isn't that a bit like going around every student union promising that if you were elected, you'd remove student loans? and then insisting you only said that if YOU were elected and not just in government? Lesson learned "It matters not which political wing you sit on of the politics bird, you are essentially all the same."
  20. You realise that American chairman is Bruce Osterman right? he ran up shockingly huge debts on personal expenses for the club until they were finally saved by Peter Johnson...the telegraph called him a "a wolf in sheep's clothing".
  21. Terrible news; it can happen to anyone at any age or fitness however. For example, my great uncle died at 5 years old of a heart attack; his brother, my grandad, died at 42 of one and several other family members too have....you just have to realise the beating heart is like playing a piano; it;s very hard to tell when and if the piano player is going to go off key.
  22. I find the Plymouth example probably more likely as to what will happen to "plucky" pompey.....Only downside of that is I don't mind plymouth and would rather just say the skates should die, however, as an academic, I need evidence and examples to back up my claims :s
  23. Wallblock 15 did make me chuckle with his first post......what a moron.
  24. Slightly related; I've just had a quick look at the West Spham KUMB board and I notice they're calling us "Lambert United"; well, I also checked out the Reading board and I like their comment after someone suggested the following "to suggest Southampton are a one-man team is as idiotic as calling them Lambert United; it's just stupid and wrong" brilliant, top marks!
  25. Yeah, good point. Sometimes the temptation is quite hard to resist however.
