  1. To be honest, a person's weight when you take into all the other things that weigh a plane down is tiny so I don't see the point unless the plane is full of morbidly obese people who probably are not fit enough to fly in the first place. I used to be quite fat but am now a bit worryingly thin and I'm placing money the person that wrote this report is also slim so they really have no idea. It's just a load of nonsense and a way for people to be subjected to yet more discrimination.
  2. Corp. Ho?
  3. I assume they didn't ask SAF what he thought about our performance against United at Old Trafford as well then?
  4. Smack down in the middle of Dupont Circle? flippin eck....but yeah, Georgetown is quite the place to go of an evening. One of the ladies I know in McLean is always moaning about the "tourons" which probably has a lot to do with all the tourists who interupt the usual morning commute (I don't drive over the pond so a metro from West Falls Church at the end of the orange line is a daily thing). Thinking about it though, as a bit of a geek and a history buff, you couldn't really do DC in 3-4 days (realistically I don't think I could cover it for years....the museums are like nirvana for me).
  5. Oh it has character lol.....outside the mall area, it's one of a mugger (I blame the not being eligible to vote for a long time bit). I often stay in McLean in VA so it's not quite DC but I agree about the 3-4 days though. But if you're a sports fan, trips to Madison Square Garden is a must (I've watched some wrestling, ice hockey and basketball there...all very worth watching) on the DC side, FedEx Field is quite an impressive stadium and the RFK near the Armory station is one of the grounds that hosted the 94 world cup.
  6. It took me 2 Hours to walk from 102nd street to 47th street....not that walkable! I still say Washington DC is much more so.....only a 2 hour drive from NY too....definatley worth a visit!
  7. Ok....got you; I'll give up trying (My modern history A-level project was on the scramble for Africa and I get a bit left wing on this stuff. My humblist apologies). But is it true they once pulled him out of Children in need?
  8. Firstly, it's interesting to see you've posted it twice....trying to emphasis a point?....and how is it incorrect? Comic Relief started in what? 1988, during apartheid, a perfect example of the western world meddling in what was otherwise, a varied and mixed bunch of cultures *I say varying because there were hunter-gatherers, such as some of the Bantu, whilst some more sophiticated people like the anastazi were amazingly cultured.....then the white man, for nothing more a reason than stagnating European markets went and raped the continent for a couple of hundred years, changing their whole life style, rightly or wrongly we did, it's a FACT and none of this "No, just incorrect." nonsense can change this. ** All the while, a bunch of rich, media-grabbing comics try to boost their egos by raising pittance to reassure their middle/upper class egos that whilst their ancestors probably did a lot to damage the people of that continent, it's not on their conscience.
  9. Well, it was short in comparison to the reams of debate that followed it on "Empire guilt" (I know a lot of history teachers and general swots). Although I was thinking of one much more unsettling! "give an african kid some money and they'll come over here and claim BENEFITS!".....That's bound to enrage the right-wingers! :hunt::hunt::hunt::facepalm:
  10. To be fair, they actually did well out of Prince Charles, since the stadium and ground is owned by the Duchy of Cornwall (his pet project village is down the road, my grandad who's from a small village called Bradford Peverill just down the motorway from it points out every time we visit).
  11. I'm going to quote my current facebook status for this one I've always thought that Red Nose day was a joke "lets help all those starving kids in Africa" (lets forget the fact our country changed their reasonably content tribal life to that of a starving cog in a corrupt despotic system)....bit deep?
  12. Don't knock Dorchester Town! my paternal lineage is from around that way and they do have a lovely little stadium! ......just like Brighton do (except they're not all bum bandits of course :s)
  13. But isn't the point that it isn't a European city and shouldnt try to be like one? I just think it doesn't give a true picture of most of the country itself (although, its nowhere near as bad as Florida) I do actually like San Francisco too (although I think now that I'm much more into hill climbing, I'd enjoy it far more). Personally my favourite state is North Dakota (which I think says everything about my kinda taste.....long open plains, the black hills, lots of beauty all around with not a great many people to spoil it.)
  14. I'm going to throw this out there: I think it's a ****hole (I'm assuming you mean manhattan island and not upstate New York, which with the finger lakes and verging on Niagara near Buffulo is beautiful). I've spent roughly a year in the US and been to most of the continental states in the union and for me, it's probably the worst, the people are rude, the portion sizes are generally smaller than everywhere else and it, to me, represents probably the most European of US cities.
  15. It's all about functional fitness Turkish (none of that "ohh I've got massive muscles so I MUST be hard"...when actually they aint); A friend of mine is quite the Cross fit addict (he kinda works bits of it into our martial arts classes too....I've seen him do a full cartwheel on the spot) I mean, if I had to do just the two exercises at the gym they would be chin ups and press ups.....Cross Fit does a lot of these.
  16. How about Salisbury for Stonehenge and the Cathedral? Stonehenge is the obvious one but in the cathedral is a copy of the Magna carta that officially is the "father" document of all their "documents of freedom"...it's also a much better and readable copy compared to the Perot family one in the national Archives in DC.
  17. Whaddya mean? he's pompey mooosh innit, they never care too much about facts and always expect special treatment.
  18. Then why in the name of Greek Buggery hasn't PFK and Birch closed that circus down already?
  19. Perhaps.....but realistically?....plus, thats with the assumption the judge will suggest a knock-down price which could very well end up in court again as well as IF the PST take over, now for me there are just too many variables.
  20. I just read this on pompey online and I think I need a new keyboard.....chickens hatching and "they just don't get it" do this post no justice whatsoever: BlueView Posted on 01/03/2013 22:18 Exit from administration Report Message | Email Message To A Friend | Reply To Message Shouldn't the court case be held asap so that 1. The Trust can buy the ground 2. Administration ends with the Trust in control 3. 10 points are deducted THIS SEASON. If it is all left to the last moment then the season will be ending so the points will be deducted next season. We want to start the club running not drowning. Get a move on and value the ground !!:facepalm::facepalm:
  21. I agree; The Parachute Payments were supposed to be critical in securing the funding to pay back this loan but now can't be assured sohow come the PCC are even considering going ahead with this reckless choice?
  22. Tricky this is because according to my parents I used to like pretty much every type of veg imaginable and then at midchildhood I just decided I didn't like them anymore but I can certainly list a few that I probably more avoided than flat out hated and now like: Marmite (yeah you can both love and hate it) Peanut butter Houmous Peas Parsnips (I cant get enough of these now) Salad leafs, Spinach Brocolli Almonds * since both of my siblings are allergic to Almonds, I generally avoided them, but I can tell you now, try some almond butter it is Manna from heaven!!
  23. Yep, I agree with this actually. As far as my views on the right; I think it plays upon base human prejudices just like our current unelected government are doing to the sick, elderly, dying and anyone else who's not party of their Oxford set. I still feel that the overall idea put about by Karl Marx is very different to what a lot of dictators over the world use; they use it more to appeal to the said base human emotions and in this sense ARE more right-wing (for example "this person is evil, he's a certain type, it's all their fault"....Amin did this, a very right wing ideal).
  24. If they pretend, they are not left-wing at all, but rather totalitarian right wingers using a left wing agenda for their own means.
  25. No, because I'm actually quite a bit more right wing than you know. I will also state that NONE and I do mean NONE of the examples above could truely be classed as "left" most are actually much more right wing whilst using a system based on a communist system. And as for bizarre, I have a perfectly fine view of British History thanks, at least the A* A-level suggests I do but to tell the truth, I have been doing some fishing and whilst my views are not quite as left as I have been playing with here, it's quite telling to see how quickly you rise and attempt to insult me.
