  1. I'm off there in 2 weeks
  2. Just don't phone in sick with the excuse "I can't come in because I'm hungover" I know someone who did use that excuse on the phone (although his version is that he said he was still drunk...which, apparently, makes it ok)..... Although to be fair, all he got was a slap on the wrists.
  3. For sure. I agree with a headteacher they had on TV earlier, it's ok the politicians moaning about exams getting easier BUT what you don't do is at the last minute, at the examination authority level change the criteria and measurement system...that was a bit wrong. I think the Germans agree with us too concerning vocational and academic tiers too....I know the Aussies do but like so many things in the UK we're afraid we'll offend people such as parents.
  4. Nice to see most of you got into the swing of this thread!...I surprised myself at how many people also feel the same way. One thing that does annoy me (you can tell I've spent too much time in front of the TV lately) soaps with plots that are just stupid...I mean "play the white man" might be an idiotic phrase from the dark ages, but it's not a line worth a 5 week storyline where someone loses their job and is made into a leper!!....and why do they make these other racists look like idiotic morons when in fact a lot are "normal" or indeed very smart and are usually never that easy to spot. Also, data forensics Corrie!!!!! you took a picture of bruises from a beating but ohh you deleted it so it cant be used....of course it can arghhhhhhhh. Also, people moaning about GCSE's being easier? I have 2 degrees but because I was ill a lot in childhood, I found it hard to catch up initially so the GCSE's were certainly not easy for me and they probably are not for lots of kids...it's ok saying they are easier for a fair percentage but to lots they're still impossible so why make them harder? why not tailor them like they do further on into vocational and academic versions? arghhhhhhhhhh. And WHY do rotund men feel the need to wear tight t-shirts to show off their moobs arghhh.
  5. Arrghhhh....sorry. Recently, maybe it's my age but things just seem to wind me up more than they used to and I've kinda been turning into my old dad. If it carries on I think there might be a falling down incident in shirlski in the not-to-distant future. Any how, I could give a list of things that are winding me up but I'll post 2 and see if anyone has any better ones. 1. People (mainly young males) wearing their oversized hats indoors...really? I thought it was bad manners for a male to wear one indoors :s 2. Riding on the pavement!!! Everyone seems to be doing these days arghhhh Old people in their stupid mobility scooters not giving a rats arse about pedestrians and speeding it along like they own the path...you've clearly been on this planet to know it's for people on foot....not motorised mentalists!! and kids, adults and everything inbetween riding on the path and getting annoyed when you suggest they should be either walking with said bike or riding on the road....one kid, when I suggested pavements were for pedestrians, replied "no they're not!" arghhhhhhhhhhhhhh :mcinnes: There you go, my 2 current pet moans...go on, a problem shared.....
  6. To be fair, I think you're all missing part of his point anyhow....the reason being that the first 3 series of Only Fools and Horses bombed.
  7. The fact that Wenger is putting him on for less than the allotted minutes would suggest that perhaps it isnt.
  8. "Ten or under I would have said yes. 15 million for a club of Southampton's size is ridiculous. Did they learn anything from there neighbors? I would back them to finish ahead of us now any day of the week but at what cost?" - from the Fulham board. What a knobber, yeah, we learned not to fiddle the taxman and take money from gun-runners.
  9. My immediate thoughts exactly.
  10. Hehehehe Shaw is in my fantasy football team (along with Super Rickie.....and RVP) Shaw made it into the sky dream team and well....the two upfront didn't let me down either brilliant opening day!
  11. In the end, no matter what Japan says, it's a democratic right of the people of the UK to have a say as to such massive changes to their country such as mass migration, binding laws created by un elected foreigners and they've been treated like mugs for so long by both parties, no matter if it is a yes or no, as a democratic country we need the right to choose and if we vote either way it should have nothing to do with other countries. Besides which, even if it was a no, the EU would either disregard it or make us take it again until we come up with the "correct" answer like they've done before.
  12. Totally agree with this. Although I like to focus more on fat loss rather than weight loss (since muscle is denser than fat) but I've read a fair old bit about the insanity regimine and even though I'm at a reasonable weight and body fat % I'm certainly considering giving it a go (I'd like to see if it's as crazy as some martial arts warm-ups I've done (a good hour of burpees, hindu dands, press ups and running for example).
  13. Whilst Aerobic exercise can be done for a few hours and that's fine, it's a question as to whether you believe that after an hour your testosterone levels decrease and your cortisol levels rise AND, in an ideal world, yes, you should only weight train for a maximum of 1 hour at a time....but personally, I think if you are enjoying what you're doing and it doesn't cause a level of tiredness that affects you for several days later, there shouldn't be a problem.
  14. That might work but I'd still recommend the OP lost the required body fat doing something they enjoy, this way they wont get bored and stop doing it....football is always a good suggestion.
  15. Increase the protein levels in your diet, lessen your carbs, lower your fat content, stop thinking of losing weight think more of losing fat - Job done. Also, some sort of exercise will help such as running, HIIT, crossfit or generally something you'll enjoy such as a martial art or something similar and ignore broscience (and don't waste your money on stuff you have to pay thru the nose for like a ton of Insanity DVD's).
  16. Oh they really do feel they were hard done by and are desperately trying to align themselves with clubs who haven't screwed over the UK taxpayer.. http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11781/8783590/SPL-club-Hearts-are-officially-in-administration
  17. That's a bit harsh. It's called planning; he was just offering advice. I get paid bugger all but I know it comes around each year so when I've got my new ST I just save maybe a tenner or so a week. You'd save in the long run.
  18. What an idiot, the traditional full name for Hampshire is Southamptonshire anyhow....upset so many people thanks to a petty vendetta.
  19. Nice starter guitar, I had one myself.
  20. We've all essentially come up with the same advice: "see a doctor" and then he or she will know exactly what it is, but in my defence, as sherlock always said "first rule out the impossible......"
  21. I'd definately see a doctor then; the general had to insert a "gravitational equaliser" onto the top of my valve when this happened to me so unless you have a ventricular peretonal shunt inserted in ya, draining off CSF....it's probably not that ;p
  22. Have you been eating enough lately?....or have you had a cold?...I was getting terrible headaches getting out of bed (but then that was probably combined with the Hydrocephalus).
  23. I'm using one right now; It's quite splendid.
  24. Was the second sentence a wind up?
  25. I remember when he visited my school, top bloke, RIP
