  1. Lads and lasses, fellow nut-jobbers, I think you're going to enjoy reading this Oh Porky Penny, you do make us chuckle! http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/news/local/portsmouth-mp-claims-back-4-soap-on-expenses-1-5699877
  2. I like the quote from Lord Birkenhead to Collins at the agreement "this may very cost me my career" to which Collins replied "yeah?? well this may very well cost me my life"...Yeah Collins knew full well he was the fall guy. I mean, in a similar fashion to what they reported about how this unconventional warfare is suppose to have brought the IRA round the table it reminded me of another supposed quote from Collins "you had me beat, we were running out of weapons, ammo and the will to fight" (supposely about the tactics of the Essex's). I do agree though, DeValera knew what Collins had to agree to and essesntially gave it his blessing *that's not to say Collins didn;t already have plans for a covert war in N. Ireland himself.
  3. So they did include both sides then? And the second point; this is nothing new (i.e. I don't see why the BBC feel the need to show it)...Everyone knows who the black and tans were in clandestine operations so it's nothing new (actually, if Collins hadn't sought agreement (which is part of the problems today), it's likely all of Ireland would still be part of the UK) so I have no idea why they are reporting this.
  4. Actually, I watched the BBC report, they had relatives of soldiers and civilians killed by the IRA on it too....It was actually pretty fair reporting despite what appears to be the case for the large proportion of right-wingers on this board.
  5. Irony being that Hoddle was "discovered" as a player by none other than Martin Chivers.
  6. To be fair, they could do an article on this about Nick Clegg and the Lib Dems but it'd be like writing the following "sooo....ermmm....the sun, it's a bit hot innit?"
  7. Love it, I've made my own and it's just to die for.
  8. I can see my old seat...just Block X, Row 15, seat 101 in the Milton!!.... Happy days!
  9. I agree, but I remember once thinking that the league cup once meant something....maybe I was wrong.
  10. Yeah, the place I work get the supervisors to perform the interviews and whilst talking to mine he was telling me about some of the hundreds of applicants they get and how most tend to be unsuitable and then when it comes down to the ones who might be suitable, only about 20% of those who they've interviewed say they'd accept the job, most of the rest are just going through the motions to tick boxes for the DWP.
  11. True, and in that sense, they're all "ba5tard children of Thatcher" I hate the way the right try to make a point about Labour when frankly, their own leaders would have done exactly the same....and are I should say. Also, Trying to score cheap political points from a former leader is a bit rich from the conservatives. The party who had a leader once so doped up on drugs that he, for his own ends concocted his own phony war (Suez ring any bells? or perhaps the Falklands which was a result of Tory cuts or perhaps the first Gulf war? or any other war the conservative party has seen fit to drag British subjects into for their own ends and usually in the name of the "empire")
  12. "Some" do....A lot do not.
  13. We're talking mobility scooters right?....why? the f**kers don't ride on the road anyway? Don't give them another excuse to run over people on the pavement and then grumble that they didn't get out of the way!....even though a pavement is for pedestrian usage.(i.e. on foot....not bikes, moped, mobility scooters or flippin skateboards!)
  14. Yup, I buggered both knees doing Kung Fu (well, the first was carrying someone on an activity not related to kung fu, but occuring in class and the second twisting on a sticky pub floor during a "Kung fu" Summer holiday...The Isle of Wight is a git to go an A&E)...I say my knee, technically, both times, on different knees it was my ACL.
  15. And on the other end of the scale.....my mixed-race cousin (this bit is important), who quite fancies Chris Smalling decided to put the following as her facebook status "come on you black....male without a father" and her defence? "I'm black, it's fine" to which I replied "So it would be ok for me to call the Polish "a bunch of ratty-faced slavs then?"....maybe I'm being too PC?
  16. I'll tell you what, one of those e-fit's n'arf look like Maddie's dad.
  17. I saw the Jonathon Ross show the other night where he was listing his guests for the next show and described 'Arry as the "people's choice for the next England manager's job" -- IS HE f^ck as like!....I think he needs to take a trip down to the south coast (except maybe Bournemouth).
  18. I agree, she still looks flippin stunning.
  19. I know very little about Ralph Miliband but what I will say is that the nasty right's argument that's ok to attack the opposition leader's dead father because some people on the left may have been particularly bitter and twisted about losing their jobs, their livelihood (and in the case of the Hillsborough dead, their lives thanks to a cover up that went right to her) thanks to a woman who's impact on this country has been blown out of all proportion thanks to a few people with views that clearly do not reflect a large proportion of the population is wrong. Besides, I still suspect it has more to do with the man's nationality at birth since this is the Daily mail. Besides which, this is the paper that was, pre-world war two, in bed with Oswald Mosely and his fascist party and their friends would seek to destroy our country.....so who is unBritish and evil again?
  20. http://www.theguardian.com/politics/2013/oct/02/thatcher-ally-daily-mail-ralph-miliband-lies Really, what a pr!ckish thing for the Daily Mail to do and if you support such nonsense then you're as bitter, twisted and heartless as the gutter rag itself. Is this the level of desperation the nasty right will turn to to feed upon the basal hatred of your common man? ALSO, Ralph Milliband didn't ruin and destroy the lives of a fairly large population in this country unlike Thatcher.....disgusting comparison.
  21. The great Ted Bates stands out (for me at least) a mile in that picture.
  22. That's pretty cool. But it's not like we've just started producing top-quality talent now is it?
  23. Smaller (obviously) but cheaper? come on, this is Tokyo we're talking about, nothing is cheap there.
  24. I saw him and his missus in town early...she's quite fit!
  25. Yep, I was there in 2009 too. A friend of mine I met in Oz is currently working out there and over the duration of a round the world trip, New Zealand was the nicest place I visited so I am going back.
