Quality post once again. We have as much chance of promotion as Peter Mandelson and George Osborne going on holiday together again.

Much like most of what you post. -
Woodward - Rupey's next 'Cost Effective' Addition?

I don't have an agenda. This is only an internet messageboard. Stop taking it so seriously, and jumping on anyone who has different views from yourself. -
Woodward - Rupey's next 'Cost Effective' Addition?
Wade Garrett replied to Channon's Sideburns's topic in The Saints
Woodward is an aresehole who is touting for work wherever he can get it. Another piece in a national newspaper has an 'insider' saying he would take over as Rugby supremo from Rob Andrew. Desparate, you bet. If he was so great, people would be going to him. He wouldn't have to be using newspapers to find work. I hope he comes nowhere near our club. -
Scum now. Big words brave cyber warrior.

1. I never said we could gain promotion by the end of the season. 2. I firmly believe Lowe leaving will immediately increase the gate. 3. I'm not embarrassed about staying away because of Lowe. You call it pathetic, well tough sh*t. The fact is Lowe coming back is one step too far for a lot of people. What I think pathetic is Lowe's 'strategy' and his partnership with weasel Wilde.
-
You really don't get how divisive Lowe is do you. However, I take your point that people wouldn't necessarily come back if Wilde was left there. That oily sh*tbag has got a lot to answer for.
-
I think you're in denial. Attendances will increase if Lowe went. Promotion under Lowe is a laughable thought, unless it's from Div 3 in a few years time.
-
I think manji, Perrin and NickG are missing the point. If you were a glory hunter you wouldn't support Saints in the first place, let alone for 40 odd years. However, it is a convenient excuse, if you think low attendances aren't down to your hero Rupert then you carry on.
-
Wilde put in the board of Hone and his mates. Crouch was kicked out by them. Crouch came back in the aftermath of the excesses of Wilde's appointed board. He appointed a decent manager (not before time, admittedly), and backed him with loan players - off setting the cost by loaning out Rasiak and Skacel. He also signed Davies who was sold on for more money. It's a bit much to blame Crouch for our problems. But he is a convenient scapegoat for Lowe and Wilde to blame. Also knocking the fans for not actually buying the club is bullsh*t.

If by stability you mean stable attendances of 15000, then yes, we have stability. If you mean stability by having a first team squad butchered (as it will again in January), and stable monthly losses taking us on the brink of administration, then that is a bit different. We are far from stable. An extra 5k - 6k on the gate might do it but it won't happen while Lowe and Wilde are here.

I wonder if JP is just touting for his next footballing job, at a level more suited to his ability and experience.

100% how I feel now.

Gillett's pace will help him when he's up against lightning wingers. not.

Well done Guided. You could start an argument in an empty room. Quality.

What did Duncan (Fitzhugh Fella) say on Radio Hampshire?
Wade Garrett replied to trousers's topic in The Saints
You might as well give him credit for not robbing a bank. -
I don't think it follows that the academy would have closed down. What do they need - a couple of pitches and a gym. It was good enough for the Wallaces, Matty, Shearer and the like, so why not now. Another consideration would be the extra revenue we would have got from the higher gates I'm sure we would have got if Crouch was still in charge and Pearson manager.
-
You really don't get it do you. As far as I'm concerned it isn't Saints anymore. It has become no more than a plaything for an idiot who only has 6% of the shares but appears to be running the club into the ground unchallenged. I suppose it would be fair comment to say I'm not a fan anymore. Probably fair to say it about thousands more stay-aways. But look at the root cause of this situation. It's not a lame excuse. If doesn't wash with you so be it.
-
Nice one. How about fvck the board. They have alienated thousands of fans who don't give a toss anymore. Many of us are not 'fairweather' and have supported the club through the highs and lows for many years. How about fvck you.
-
It's easy to snipe when you're living thousands of miles away. Maybe it would be a bit more raw if you were a bit closer to the club than an internet message board.

Snowballs, we may have differences of opinion on this forum, but at the end of the day this forum isn't really that important. In reality, we have fans who can't be bothered with the team anymore, hence the sub 15000 attendances. Attendances aren't going to go up so something has to give. Even the sales of Surman and Lallana will only be delaying the inevitable. I think the days of sensibility are long gone. Sensibly, Askham and co should withdraw their support for Lowe. Wilde should wake up and realise what a prat he is making of himself. Crouch should publicly tell us if he has any plans to stop administration. It isn't going to happen.

Nice post John, fair play to you. I wasn't born in 1962, but I am old enough to remember my old man taking me to see the open top bus-ride in 1976. I have been lucky to see many world-class players turn out for Saints, and also lucky to have seen some miraculous escapes from relegation. The time for hoping for success is over for me. It isn't going to happen, and we all know why.
