I wonder about this 'racist' debate. For the record I am a lifelong Labour supporter, I have worked hard and paid taxes all of my working life. I am sickened that a large proportion of my taxes seem to pay for foreigners who come to this country, seemingly, to sponge off the state without giving anything back. I accept that a great many foreign people come to this country, work hard and enrich our society. But the fact is, also, that many don't. I get equally angry about British layabouts and the culture of welfare dependancy. I am a little concerned that our national identity is being eroded. A great many people who come to our island have little feeling for our nation (unlike immigrants who settle in the USA and are required to pledge allegiance to the flag). I am concerned that schools are stretched to the limit by catering for non-english speaking children. Our hospitals are being stretched by people who don't contribute anything towards it (there are a great many brits who fall into this category as well as foreigners). Does this make me racist, not a chance. I judge people by their actions and the lives they choose to lead, not the colour of their skin. Would I ever vote BNP, not a chance. My Grandad spent six years of his lives fighting for our nation against people like them. I'm not about to forget that. My point is that these issues have to be resolved, without the 'racist' card being waved. We are a small nation with a finite level of resources. We are being stretched to the limit, something needs to be done. But not by the BNP, they would make a delicate and complex issue even worse.

Marc Jackson consortium has moved to due diligence.
Wade Garrett replied to derry's topic in The Saints
I think Jackson has been telling a lot of people the deal has been done. I think he is a billy bullsh*tter. -
You'd be wrong. They like to play a bit of football down there.
-
'beggars can't be choosers', 'I'd rather have this than no club at all'. Very obvious platitudes which nobody can argue with. However.... forget about Jackson, it ain't gonna happen. I reckon he enjoys the attention, and that is it.

I played for Gosport many moons ago. There is no way they would let a chancer like Jackson even near the clubhouse bar.
-
If this does happen, then it will make Fry look very incompetent.
-
That would be true to form for Mr Jackson. He seems to get off on it for some reason.
-
If the Jackson consortium succeed I will have no problem eating humble pie. I don't think it will happen though, the man has a poor track record and is a bit of a hindrance in my opinion.

It seems strange that, reportedly, the £8m bid last week was £1m short of what Fry wanted, and now the £7m bid needs to be doubled. I get the impression that the goalposts have been moved at least a couple of time. For what reason I don't know. But unless he had a big joker up his sleeve you would think Fry wasn't too good at his job.
-
One or two people will be left with egg on their face with this latest news. I get the impression that Fry is trying to freeze out Jackson/Greene and Pinnacle.
-
Get used to it, that what married life feels like every morning for the rest of your life.
-
Is it Paul Allen or Barry the Briefcase? Are you going to be called Portsmouth FC UK and have a Beckham academy?
-
I blame it all on Pinnacle, Mark Fry and Leon Crouch. They would still be together if Lowe was still here.

Genius

This message is hidden because Frank's cousin is on your ignore list.
-
There you go Frank, true to form. So I am naive, and Crouch is my hero. Your last paragraph just about sums you up. You remind me of a little boy who thinks he can do no wrong.
-
What a surprise. Don't tell me - no news or announcements today. Can't wait for tomorrow.

To be honest, I've read this thread a couple of times. It seems clear to me that you have little time for Crouch (irritating) and his generosity doesn't seem to sit well with you because you don't like the man. You talk about other people dipping their hands in their pockets, and would you be OK with that no matter who it was (I take it you're talking about Lowe or Wilde), but the point is that they haven't, and probably never will. Trying to polarise the argument to Lowe haters/Crouch haters is too simple. What you don't seem to understand is that there are lots of people out there who think Lowe did a poor job. What they think of Crouch is irrelevant, they think Lowe (and Wilde) did a poor job. You spend hours on here lecturing people on 'balanced views' and a lot of time throwing insults at others. Cynic, I don't know. Hypocrite, you most certainly are. What is so difficult to understand?

If Rupert did it you would most probably be sucking him off (metaphorically, of course).
-
How the f*ck should I know, ask Mark Fry. The point is he has put his hand in his pocket.
-
Funny how Crouch pays the wages and Rupert's bum boys come out of the woodwork and try and slag him off (up to his pikey neck!). Face it, your horse paid himself a kings ransom while he was here, virtually set up his own redundancy deal, came back on £100k per annum for a 2 day week, and took us to the brink of extinction. You are a load of w@nkers, and hardly what I would call Saints supporters.
-
I would agree with that. It's poker time, and the good players don't want to show their hands yet.
-
It is offensive that you even have to ask. Crouch has bailed us out, but you are more worried about him lording it over us than you are grateful that he has put his hand in his pocket, again, for the club. A bit more than your man Rupert has done, isn't it. I don't think I'm the bitter and twisted one.
