I messed up. I snapped my chain on a little climb about 4 miles from home. No drama as I have a quick link in the saddle bag so was fixed and on my way in a couple of minutes. Unfortunately I fixed it like this.. . You can see I put the chain on the outside of the jockey wheel guide at the top. As it was my only link and I couldn't pull it apart I had to ride home with it all grinding away like that. Thankfully it was mostly downhill so I could coast. We learn from our mistakes though.

I was reading recently that due to English teams poor efforts in Europe recently our co-efficient was dropping putting us in danger of only 3 teams getting into the Champions League. If that is correct that would really hot things up in the coming seasons.

Going to try and make this the year of social cycling. Have been out with the local club once already and out on the reliability ride on Sunday. If I can find a few people to ride with regularly I can chalk one in the win column for this year. Will be doing a couple of the Wiggle sportive rides as at the moment they are a nice excuse to have a weekend away with the missus (who doesn't ride).

I can't help but feel they will get a shot on target at some point. Hopefully Forster might just save it, lovely change from the rest of the season.

I picked up a GT Grade Alloy last week. Stuck some SKS guards on it and very impressed to be honest. Been out a couple of times and although I am lot slower than summer last year I still find it so much better than the turbo. So much so I am selling to turbo on ebay as I just couldn't get motivated to get on it.

I know there has been a hundred or so seats taken out for extra press areas near the back of the Kingsland. That was only 2 seasons ago, start of the BT football thing. Never seen any more than 5 people sitting in there.
