What? Again? He's probably selling them on e-bay.

Wow! It all sounds very sinister and quite sad the way he appears to have been treated. However, nothing surprises me at all with the previous regime. Intresting comments!

Being "off-shore" and oop north I have constantly been frustrated at the lack of Saints news (particularly when the coverage over here mainly concerns Merseyside and Manchester teams) and to be quite honest it's a real p155er to have to confront my workmates in the 'brew-hut' because of the lack of coverage on Super Saints. I'll definately give it a go!!

An excellent post by 19C and probably mirrors what most fans' real expectations are. I certainly don't subscribe to the view of FTF. Certainly we would dearly like to set this league alight but we are clearly hampered by our limitations, having fallen so far. It is vital that we, as fans, continue to support the team and the heirarchy that's being set up for the future. We will succeed eventually.

WGS? That might explain his appearance at the Millwall game. Something like this may cause conflict with AP, however, I'd be surprised if he wasn't aware of the plans when he took the job.

It seems to me that whoever we bring in has got to be part of a set-up that will be in place for some time to come. Sol Campbell has the best years behind him and IMO would not suit an up and coming team like ours at all. We need a "General" who could boss the midfield and direct play, someone like Jimmy Case - But a lot younger!!

Yeah, just after I got a tattoo of the old crest!

The funniest thing was seeing the pikey boy wobbling from side to side as if he was still sat on his caravan. LMFAO

Yeah, I think you're right about that. I know that in the past we've definately upped our game when we've been playing the 'big boys'. However, as Murty said on the OS, we have to adopt a fortress mentality at SMS and take full advantage of that. Saying that, on the road, we'll give some of the other teams a fright particularly if we can sell out our allocations. There seem to be a lot more games "local" to us this season which will make it easier for away trips.

Saints are hoping to attract 20,000+ for a televised match tomorrow. Norwich City have announced that they are expecting a crowd of around 25,000 for the visit of Colchester and Leeds will have a large following all season. Do you think that club attendances will have a crucial bearing on the outcome of this title race? Clearly, the better supported teams will generate more income. However, can the crowds generate the sort of intimidating atmosphere that Pardew is looking for at SMS and genuinely help the squad to achieve more? I mainly go to "away" games in the North West and our fans have always seemed more vocal away from home than they are at SMS. Probably a collective thing, but if that passion could be unleashed at St.Marys I think it will definately make a difference. Some stadiums (stadia) really are designed to spark up the fans and create lots of noise. Sadly, I don't think SMS (unless it is really full) can fulfil this criteria, chiefly because there isn't really a dedicated 'end' although no doubt some or all of you will say the Northam or the Chapel etc. is where it's at. In terms of fans, set-up, history etc. we'll bling most of the opposition this year, but as far as clubs go, who will be the biggest team?

Please enlighten me. All these abbreviations are doing my head in. Took me weeks to work out HCDAJFU. Perhaps we could have a sticky where abbreviations could be stored/added/amended. Mods? -
Great article in The Times about the fish fiddlers

I liked this post, Lou O wrote: What Pompey really need is a mass-brawl between all the 12 players they have left (lumps of wood optional). The club could then fine them all 2, 3 or even 30 weeks wages and help the cashflow. Come on lads, don't be soft, have a fight! LMFAO -
Idle speculation which started on another thread FFS

I'm fed up with all this negativity. We've got a lot to look forward to. If you can't get behind the team in a positive way keep off the forum and pleasedon't tell me that you have the right to air such views because, in my mind, you're the most dangerous type of quisling "supporters".

I don't normally comment but we are still a selling club!!!!

Absolutely right!!! What is it with some people? Never fffing happy. We've got a team. It will be improved-without doubt. Either support the new regime or get ffffuccked. Sorry about the stammer. -
What size shoes do you take? Only joking! Been there, got the t-shirt. Hope is eternal. Good luck. Be strong.

Whilst I appreciate and acknowledge that, according to the many posts on here, that both Rasisk and Saganowski are keen to leave Southampton, is that the official line? Both, I understand, are still under contract and can't go anywhere unless SFC say so. Therefore, even though Stern John has left, is there any real sense of urgency and need to panic? Most posters have criticised existing players for lack of motivation, poor performances and lacklustre approaches to the game. Is it any wonder with recent events? Everyone seems to agree that Pardew can get the best out of players and it could be that we already have the makings of a good team. Proper management and coaching together with footballing nous could, quite possibly, be having a profound effect on our players already. Let's just give them all a chance and leave it to the professionals.

Can't wait! The atmosphere will be electric, whoever plays here. Much rather be in a pub full of rugby fans than some of the more idiotic football fans, that's for sure.
-
Probably signing players as we speak

When it looked like Saints might go under, unthinkable I know, did anyone else wonder who they could possibly support in the future? I, personally, would have been unable to even consider another team, although geographically Liverpool would have been a logical choice but the passion would never have been the same. I suppose it would have been like a bereavement to some extent and who knows what would have happened after a suitable period of mourning. Would others have chosen London clubs, Bournemouth or even supported Totton or Eastleigh in the hope they could break into the big time? Also, if, like me, you've got a SFC tattoo would you have it laser blasted? What a white knuckle ride it's been!

It was a whimsical if not entirely rhetorical question for those old enough to remember the thrill of standing and singing with thousands of like-minded supporters in the days before we became a 'Nanny State'.

I know that since the Taylor report into Hillsborough it's been a requirement that all stadia in the Prem and CCC have to be all seats but is it the case in this division. Wouldn't it be great to have a standing section again? That could raise the atmosphere - bring down the prices too! "Knees up mother Brown" anyone?
