Hi All I recently upgraded from Sky+ to Sky+ HD and they installed a new 500gb hard drive box with built in wifi. It kept freezing and needed rebooting twice a day after it had been off for long periods. They replaced the box on Friday and hey presto, it's still having the same problems. It's a DRX890 box and I have a sneaking suspicion that when I switch my router off and the box loses the network signal, that it when the problem occurs. The Sky forums are full of similar issues of boxes freezing etc, just wondered if anyone on here has suffered or knows of a fix. I've tried forcing the software download as recommended, the only thing I haven't yet tried is a full reformat Cheers

This, for me it's now over £30 a ticket and with £50-60 a tank on petrol costs and food on top, I'm just not prepared to shell out that much any more. I now work 2 weekends in 4 which I didn't before, so time is also precious. If Bundesliga clubs don't charge their fans the money that Premier League clubs do then I don't understand why we can't use their financial models and stop fleecing the paying customer. Nothing will change until the paying customer wakes up and realises that they are being fleeced something chronic. Football supporting seems to be a one way thing these days

X Rebirth - release date finally announced
stthrobber replied to Sheaf Saint's topic in Computer Games
Elite was the Godfather of this type of game, but the X games took it a stage further. I could never quite understand how to build the factory complexes, but I loved the combat and capturing ships when the pilot bailed out. I didn't think the Terran Conflict game was as good as Reunion but then I didn't finish it. Great games all round though David Braben is supposed to be developing Elite 4 too -

I've had this on pre order from Amazon for over a year. Really looking forward to this one. -
I played the original Far Cry on a PC, thought it was brilliant, but didn't like Far Cry 2 so I was a bit dubious about this game. I actually don't think it's that great. The first hour of gameplay is constantly interrupted by 'tutorial' pop ups, wandering around looking for flower petals, climbing radio masts etc and all the time thinking 'wtf?' I've stuck with it, to hope it gets better. I'm on the prison break in mission next, but come on, in the previous sabotage mission, there's a tiger outside the camp that ignores the pirates but kept attacking me. I'm not saying its a bad game, but whereas I loved Skyrim and the first 2 Dead Space games, I don't think this has the same replayability factor

Fable 3 - Free on Xbox marketplace at the moment.
stthrobber replied to Colinjb's topic in Computer Games
I downloaded this yesterday and if I read it right, they'll be doing this with other games for Xbox Live users each month. I wouldn't have found this out but for the OP, so a big thank you from me -
That seems to have cured my problem in Firefox Steve
-
I was finding this problem and just noticed ColinJB's post somewhere to find this thread. I use Firefox and was finding things taking a ridiculous amount of time to load, but the New Private Window option for the browser has been successful, but I can't find any way in Facebook of removing Saintsweb integration or vice versa?

I watch Sky on it. I wouldn't say it's fantastic, the picture quality is okay, but I found the lag on occasions to be bloody annoying, particularly when watching Saints on a live game. I'm assuming you mean watching via Sky Go? I've got Virgin Media on very fast Broadband speed and the router is just on the other side of the wall from the Xbox. It works well, but not fantastically well

It is good news. I didn't ever think he was in danger of leaving, but IMO the statement on the club's site is very carefully worded. Makes me think Il Duce has to tread on eggshells around Ms Leibherr, but I guess the family aren't as on side as ML was

I don't think that's likely. We went to an Evening With Matt Le Tissier last week in Swansea and the only people he dissed were Hoddle and the FA, of course there may be a difference if he's not actually arranging it, but they would be daft not to think a lot of Saints fans would be attending, a lot of whom have a lot of time for Cortese. They might poke a bit of fun, but I wouldn't think any more than that

For info I've had an exchange with Pedro this morning. He wondered how we knew and what was said. He wants people to know that he's fine and the OP was wide of the mark with the kidney failure info and wasn't overly happy about it. Be interesting to know where it came from. He was in intensive care but with a viral infection
-
They are doing tests to find out what happened, but it sounds like the worst is over. Fingers crossed
-
I've just had a message from Pete, he's out of intensive care now, but staying in hospital for a few days. Appears to have been some kind of viral infection

Well they may have buried the hatchet publicly, but privately, or actually not so privately, Matt described Hoddle as a ***t. I went to a charity event last Thursday night at the Liberty Stadium where he was the guest speaker and he says that the FA/England has a big club mentality which generally means that some players get picked time and time again and others don't. He mentioned Wellbeck as an example. He also said that he didn't get more caps for England because he turned down a move to Spurs when Venables was manager, and he then went on to manage England shortly after, then he turned down a move the Chelsea when Hoddle was manager, who then went on to manage England shortly after.

I know Soccer Am did this stuff a few years back when Boston got into the football league. It is kind of funny, but even funnier are the replies by those who don't get the joke

Well I did say that on the balance of probabilities Cortese must make a mistake sometime and I thought that Pocchetino was it, but he is turning the team into a real force to be reckoned with in the division. I still worry about the money spent on players but every decision Cortese has made has been proved to be right. I still don't like the way Adkins was got rid of, but at the time it was condemned on MOTD but in recent weeks they've only said how great the team has played. Cortese has raised our expectations beyond perennial Premier League strugglers, but the downside for me is that I can no longer afford to go

I used to use Eudora many years back and that is still free. I don't use Windows Live Mail as I don't much like it.

I hadn't heard of this until yesterday when a kid stopped me whilst I was on a foot patrol and told me he had received such a notice and asked if this was genuine. I told him it had to be a scam because the police will only write with summonses and fines and not hack into people's PCs and demand money via ucash or PayPal. I offered to have a look at it for him as he lived nearby but he declined. Wonder what sites he's been visiting. I also reassured him that if he had been downloading child porn as the notice claimed, we would probably arrest him and seize the computer by use of the 'big red key'

Cheers, I'll try that for next time. I found that I couldn't close off a lot of the things that appeared, but maybe Adblock will stop that... Adblock stops the problem! nice one
-
Didn't see that one coming. That was an immense performance. Didn't let them settle at all, fought hard, great energy and well deserved 3 points. Outstanding.
-
Is it just me, but apart from the first link, all the others seem to want to download malware apps that take over your browser etc. Missed the goal because of it.

Cortese is no fool and given the legendary status that Matt has with the fans and all the pictures around the stadium before Cortese arrived there is no way on Earth that he would not remember meeting him. I don't blame Matt for tweeting if Cortese has lied about him, he's had some fairly offhand treatment from the club, he has no other outlet to correct the 'mistake'
-
It's a fair point, but even then the press were asking when he was approached etc, and he said he'd been researching the players for weeks, so there's only one conclusion to be drawn from that, but although the target of the ire wasn't there, there were still difficult questions. As for biggest ego, I've met MLT on a couple of occasions and he came out on a night with us in Cardiff a few years back and a more down to earth guy you couldn't ask for.

It would have shown that he has the guts to stand up and account for his actions. There was bound to be a huge backlash to the sacking of a man who has done wonders at the club, and if that's the case, so be it. Whatever happened Cortese is the villain of the piece by not attending and letting Pochettino cop the flak without being able to speak the lingo. Cortese knew full well that there would be some difficult questions to answer, and he wimped out of answering them. He's ruthless, he has high hopes and ambitions for the club, I get that, but he should still have the guts to stand up for what he believes in, even if it is unpopular. If he isn't prepared to attend press conferences because he's shy or whatever, then someone should attend to be able to answer those difficult questions, and even deflect them to the agenda that he wants The whole thing has been handled very poorly and shows Cortese up as spineless.
