Virgil vill go when he wants to. If he is happy to stay, I believe the club will reject any bid for him. With all the attention lately, I fear it's just a question of time before he thinks he's too good for the club (if he hasn't figured it out already)
-
Brilliant! A long time since the Urban Spaceman was in my head. Thanks;)
-
But are they ours if we want them? Is it not a two-way-street? If they do exceptionally well, can they not say 'thanks, but no thanks' and cancel the further deal? Go back to their former club and seek a better/another deal? Not trying to be negative, but it is not a given, is it?
-
Agree, regarding Toby, Koeman interview was recorded earlier than player interview with shirt & scarf. Just think they are pretty sure of the deal going through early on. Like K,Billy said, relax... Must admit they had me a bit worried (but as soon as the Gaston to Hull story broke I was fairly confident).
-
Love how it is a bright sky in the background on both deals today (and he mentions Gaston as an alternative). Deals were either done early today, or premature interview?
-
Thanks Bearsy - that put a smile on my face like sunshine on a rainy day!

Unless Koeman is on his way out as well?

Thanks mate, I agree with you - I love the Southampton ride (just get grumpy when losing like this)

Right now I hate my passion for this club... Woke up today and couldn't wait until the game started. First half kept thinking how I love to just watch this team play. Now I wish the game had never happened - and keep thinking I wont bother watching another game this season... Next weekend the same cycle starts all over again... Just love the fact that I know this, and at the same time allow myself to be so emotional about it...
-
Soooo disappointed in my team today. Everything about this had the feel of a pre-season friendly...

Spot on, saintbletch! I am indeed quite anal when it comes to the usage of colon! As English is not my first language, you should see me in action when it comes to my anal fixation with the usage of colon and my own tounge... Tokyo and Bearsy, I am doing fine, thanks. Here are some FACTS about me: • I am fit • There are posters on this board who have met/seen me • Someone on here has bought me a couple of drinks, and sent me safely home in a taxi at the end of the night • Some on here has video footage of me "breaking a sweat" • The last time I had sex was with a girl Sorry for moving off topic a bit (but I think this is within the rules on the Muppet Show), and for my slow response.

Brilliant thread guys. Made me laugh quite a few times, and even prompted me to join in and say hello (instead of my usual "standing on the outside looking in"). Dream team from the start of my Saints-supporting days: bugenhagen:

Now I can finally relax and enjoy the final hours untill the window shuts. Great signing - wasted a lot of time at work over the last few weeks following this tread. About time I conributed to it... And yes, I woted "no" (was in a dark place at the time). Now bring on the pie! Saint Gaston!
-
I have resisted looking at the table until the final whistle is blown and my shorts are off! What a night! COYR!

Chamberlain had 11 at the time De Ridder joined. Seem to remember Steve said he wanted nr 11, but because AOC had it at the time, he went for another "double" number (33).

Cheers Phil, that put a smile on my face and solutionoriented as well!

Breaking news - danny ward signs for Huddersfield

That is correct. -
I do agree NickG, I just thought Saint Lard made a good, clear and unbiased point in this discussion. As everyone here I wish we had taken a few more points so far, but as it stands, I believe it will be very hard for other teams than Brighton to finish above us at the end of the season (based on what we have done since Adkins arrived).
-
Exactly! Doesn't matter that Adkins finishes the season with one piont more than all the other managers gunning for 2nd since he took over. He was appointed to promote us/win the whole thing, and he inherited less points and must also make up for this to complete his job.
-
I see what you mean, but I think signing Lallana, Guly and Chaplow has just sustained our squad based on how all the teams have got the points they now have. Had we lost them, we would have weakened our squad. And Charlton has strengthened based on the team that got them their points (assuming they haven't lost someone significant).

Thanks for the tip about emailing the club - they sorted me out, very helpful. So now it's both United and Exeter!

Cheers. Flying to London on the friday with a mate, and will probably take the bus down to watch the FA-cup in one of the Southampton pubs on saturday (might be just as fun) as it is difficult to get two tickets with my costumernumber. Just see what happens. Got pretty cheap flights and hotel, so will stay in Southampton until the Exeter game where I booked seats on the bus that goes from St.Mary's. I was planning a trip over in January/February for a Saturday/tuesday combo anyway, and when we drew Utd in the cup I thought I'll give it a try (I know, a bit "plastic" but I usually attend two games pr season for the last 4 years, so I'm ok with that But, the Exeter game is the one I am really looking forward to. New ground, standing in the terraces with the awaysupport. A new and different experience. Going to St.Mary's was very special and important the first few times I came over, but now I have even played there myself so now it is more exciting to see Saints away. Different stadiums and places. My favourite game is probably when I wathced the reserves a couple of seasons back at Staplewood - just because it was so different. And in regards to the domestic season here in Norway, you are right. The only problem is that, sadly, I do not have a team I am as passioned about in Norway as I am about Southampton, so I guess I am forever an awaysupporter (and we are not as noisy as you are/good atmosphere at our games here in Norway, so I't is not as much fun going over here).
-
Coming over from Norway for this one. Really looking forward to joining our great awaysupport for the first time! Only been sat with the homesupporters when watching Saints away in the past.
