Incognito mode is nothing groundbreaking though is it? 'Private Browsing' mode is available in Safari and can be turned on/off or a customisable 'Browser Reset' and wipe of whatever aspects of your browsing history you want is just a 2-click operation - this has been standard for as long as I've been using Macs. Similar private browsing has also been available in Firefox for some time (although I don't use Firefox as I find it slow and cumbersome compared to Safari.) There been a lot of stink over what Google is doing with Chrome: Compiling even more data on you and targeting you with ads even more than already do, and you agreeing that you irrevocably grant copyright permission to Google on any material you display or post through their service. Interesting reads below... suggest you digest it before installing/using Chrome and agreeing to Google taking over your life Get ready for more ads Copyright - Waiving your rights

Ahh, the old 'same spec' argument... I like this one ... The 'same spec' Dell (or any other laptop running Windows) will not run the operating system or most programs as fast as the 'same spec' MacBook because the Dell (etc) takes more of that processing power and RAM to run the Windows Bloat. If you're going to compare 'same power to run your OS and Applications' then go add some Mhz and RAM to your Dell specs, maybe throw in the cost of some anti-virus and firewall software and take onto account Apple's iLife software that comes preloaded etc. Then come back with your 'comparable' costings!!

Ever thought about a second hand MacBook? I'd love to get a new one or a MacBook Pro, but really can't justify it when my current one works as perfectly as the day it came out of the box! Unlike when I used to use Siemens / Toshiba / Dell Windows laptops, my MacBook Pro doesn't need replacing after 2-3 years of everyday use and none of the keyboard letters have been rubbed off nor show any signs if use lolz!! Out of interest Steve, how long have you had your laptop for? Is it within the 2-3 yrs period the same as I used to always have to replace my Windows laptops? False economy buying the inferior cheaper lumps?

As you know, there's currently no 'mini' MacBook. However, with a form factor of 32.5cm x 22.7cm x just 2.75cm thick (2.75cm thick at all times, NOT a wedge-like thin at the front and massively thick at the back like some mini-laptops!) it's small enough to be amazingly portable. You can test Browser behaviour inside Safari (as the screen capture below that I've just taken shows), or you can use Bootcamp or Parallels to dual boot or even have Windows and Ubuntu running inside separate windows on the same screen as OS X. Battery Life? I can get up to 6hrs of web browsing etc still out of my 1st gen MacBook, reducing of course with heavy video or other power intensive work, but still only reducing down to a minimum of 3-4hrs at the worst of times. Any more information will have to wait, due to my limited posting allowance.

If you'd have changed the rest of your wireless network to broadcast on channel 1 and it had all worked hunky dory, would your rating for the laptop still have been "utter pants, avoid at all costs"? I suggest you stop being such a drama queen, put your refund in a tin and start saving so that you can one day afford a MacBook; that way, you'll also not risk getting the screen wobble that stevegrant's Novatech laptop and Dells, HPs, Acers etc etc (according to exit 2) all suffer from.
-
It's not a Novatech laptop by any chance is it? It sounds just like the problem that the Novatech screens suffer from.

It's my birthday again today too.

This is exactly the same as homosexuals imo and why they should all be castrated.

Lol@ all you Windoze users now panicking, restarting your machines and doing full system scans. I might open up the link in 10 browser tabs and think about you waiting for the system scan result box to pop up.
-
LOL@ Pancake for thinking I give a f**k about a f**king post on a f**king internet messageboard, or what f**k he thinks, the stupid f**k

Her vagina, plus you.

If you have the 'double tap of Home Button' default to launch the iPod or return to the Home Screen it isn't affected anyway. A) not everyone password locks their phone when in use; heck, my Sony Ericsson did not allow this option even if I would've wanted it to. B) bringing up your iPhone's favourite contacts is a maximum of two taps on the screen anyway (it's only ONE if the favourites page was the last tab displayed when last using the phone application) so it's just as easy to do that anyway!! C) this isn't a remote hack or virus or malware issue It really isn't a big deal: If someone has your phone in their hands then you've been careless with it anyway, stupid.

I bet you're glad you paid your £5 for this, LOL. I would imagine that when the server is downgraded to take into account the reduced demand, you will get a partial refund though. I bet you're all jealous of the fun that the Registered Users are having. It's a blast having to consider whether to use up one of your three permitted posts to reply to a mongy message and then waiting until the time is right to use one; then getting you 'money's worth' by making it a long one. Of course, you get mentalists like Aids Victim who have a tendency to just go Bish Bash Bosh and blast them in three quick posts, but then he is zany. Even this thread died once the Registered Users were unable to reply to jillcrackpotsaint, but then that's probably a good thing as we could just sit back, not have to argue, but still watch her self-pwn show. Where is she anyway? Did she have a massive period implosion or something? Is she dead (physically, we know she is in the head). I would PM her to make sure she's ok, but firstly I can't and secondly the 'hope' is quite a nice hope. Ok, you can talk amongst yourselves again now; I'm going to save my final post in case I get bored later.

I am a great believer in euthanasia for dogs; in fact, I am a great believer in euthanasia for all domestic pets, no matter how ill (or otherwise) they are. There is something odd about people who choose to keep animals in their home imo.

Has jillstain finished her period and self-pwning yet?
-
LOL, surely 'serious' in internet terms is banning everyone's ability to PM or use your forum properly unless they pay you £5.00 : roll :

Interesting and useful information as usual, thankszzz zzzzzzz.

Baj gets upset at the slightest things.

Plus baj's wife, judging by the screenshot of Monday's events on b-anter :-)

That's some crazy spelling of craziness you have there bajster.

To add to this: I've taken many off this sort to Post Offices and Cheque Cashing places in my taxi. The most retarded one was to take a big fat smelly beast of a woman from one of the Weston tower blocks over to Shirley to use a cheque cashing place, wait for her, then take her back home (via a stop for fags and some cakes!!) It was a Saturday and she said she meant to do it the previous day at the local post office but 'ran out of time' (watching Jeremy Kyle probably). So because she was so disorganized and/or lazy, she paid the cheque cashing place their fee PLUS a £25 taxi fare out of the £60-odd cheque. It's difficult to work out if these people are more lazy than stupid or more stupid than lazy.

How much longer can Stu hold out for before he coughs up a fiver?

You just can't go more than a few posts without mentioning me or b-anter, can you? You are truly sad and obsessed, but I am yet to decide whether it's slightly flattering or you're just a mental case. -

Have you tried PMing one of the Directors about it? -
Do fish go on strike if it's blowing a bit if a breeze then? I've heard it all now.
