It's a shame I wasn't present for these 'initial talks' then! If you want to set up and run a forum I'll gladly either point the b-anter.co.uk url to it or sell it to you! Anything has got to be better than this place - even something run by you.

Does anyone find it weird how, after Jade's bigoted, racist attack on Shilpa 'Poppadom' her effigy was burned in the streets in India and there were probably curses or some other supposed mumbo jumbo death wishes placed on her by those Indians... then she gets the news of her cancer whilst in the Indian BB House and, eventually, dies. That's scary weird ****.

This just goes to show what sort of a morally bankrupt person Crouchie's Lawyer is.

So if you don't like the headphones that are made for it, nor any of the alternative licensed ones, or 'don't like Apple products' or moan about iTunes, or whatever other argument you lime to make - go buy a different product. It's a big old world out there with plenty of other (many would say inferior) devices available. Starting a thread and copying a complete article based on one person's review of a product, just so you can have a snipe at Apple, is rather sad. Like Marmite, peoplewill either love or hate the new Shuffle. But when it co we down to it, it doesn't really matter. Those that want a new mini MP3 player but don't like it will buy something else; those that like it can decide if they are happy to buy it once they've weighed up the pros and cons. Me: I've got a 2ndGen Shuffle that I'm entirely happy with, so haven't even thought about it. Get over yourself. Posted from the amazing iPhone

How exactly would you expect cheap nasty third party headphones to be able to control new Shuffle exactly? Here's an idea... if you want one of the World's smallest MP3 players and like the idea of it having no control buttons on, but instead that you control it all through the in-line earbud controls and it speaks information to you - buy a new Shuffle and use the purposely manufactured earbuds or one of the after market varieties that will be produced. If, however, you prefer to have the controls on the MP3 player, don't mind it being larger than the new Shuffle and want to be able to use any old 3.5mm headphones/earbuds, then buy the old Shuffle or any number of generic MP3 devices available on the market. You complete plum.

If the Apps are on your iTunes then you're ok. If you've downloaded any directly to your iPod Touch and haven't yet synched it with iTunes then do so first. Any purchases (incl Free ones) that you've made with your iTunes account are transferrable to a different device that is being synched with the same laptop. Even if you delete them and have to download them again, iTunes knows that you've previously downloaded them so you won't be charged again for any paid ones. The MMS app is perfect too and resolves any issues people have with wanting to send/receive MMSs (except you have to purchase credits to send MMSs and they don't come out of your Network bundled texts; although receiving is free)

I was sticking up for you with regards to any accusations that may have been heading your way Barrie, you miserable and ungrateful čüñ¿. The Lounge is for serious discussion: no wind ups and no personal abuse or name calling. You're walking a thin line Barrie. Save your shït for the Muppet Show.

The new, more expensive server that would handle the demands and stop the crashing was the reason given as justification for the subscription fee. Clearly mistakes have been made and they seem to know that, even if they haven't apologised for it. It is also probably sheer coincidences that both Steve Grant and Bojjer have purchased new MacBooks since subscriptions were introduced, so I don't think people should make any accusations regarding diversion of funds.

The above is the route of mugs. Possibly the most reliably rubbish stretch of the M25 for jams and delays is between J12 (M3) and J10 (A3). On a clear day then, yes, can be fairly quick despite the extra 30 miles that route adds to your journey; but not so on a typically rubbish day. If you're leaving from the north of the city then M3>A31>A3>Join M25 at J10> M23S. Otherwise, M27>A27>A29>B2139 to Storrington>A283>A24>A264>M23N - Sounds complicated but it's not and is less mileage (so cheaper) and you don't get the hold ups that you do on the M3/M25. There are also a whole host of routes going the A29/A24 way and, if you have the time for a leisurely drive back, then go left at the roundabout from the terminals instead of right towards the M23, then snake your way through the countryside through places like Rusper and Amberley. It's a beautiful part of the country.

No, I think everyone is realising I was right yet again. It's always the same with any Windows v Mac, or Nokia v iPhone debate: The people arguing the 'Apple are style over substance' stance have never properly used OS X or the iPhone etc. When they do give them a proper go, if they're honest they'll admit how great they are. Then 'they' (the Steve Grants and Bajjers and people who can afford the superior experience) go out and buy Macs or MacBooks. Poor people like Hypochondriac and people like thesaintsfc who are unwilling to admit I'm right will say how expensive and/or rubbish the Apple experience is and stick with their clunky Dells and Nokias. The MMS argument is also archaic. You can send your iPhone pics straight to email in full size. Those who want to send a tiny version by to another person's handset which will render and resize it differently, should get with the times - soon all of us will communicate by instant email on our handsets: Apple is just way ahead of the times yet again by dumping MMS.

It'll be the best ever techy purchase you've ever made. I didn't comment on your iPod Touch thread for fear of putting you off getting one, but as good as the Touch is, I couldn't imagine switching to one from my iPhone and not having the instant 3G internet and having to wait for a wifi connection to use some of the apps, browse the web, and do a host of other things on it that require a net connection. The Touch is great if you just want the best music player around plus a lot of extras, but the difference between it and the iPhone is immense in my opinion. Get one, you definitely won't regret it.

On second thoughts: It's bad enough that Baj and Stevegrant are Mac converts, we don't need peasants who can't afford quality and reliability as well.

That's easy

Would we be correct in assuming that you're using a Windows operating system?

Stu, just quit changing your mind and changing the timings of things. There are at least three versions knocking around teh intarweb. Why the change from a walkout on 5mins to a walkout on 3mins? As has been said numerous times, all ST Holders will be included in the attendance figures regardless of whether they go in or not. There is no benefit in the ST holders that want to take part in the walkaway NOT going in and walking out; there is every benefit in them all going in and BEING SEEN to walk out. It's visible and can't be ignored. If everyone stayed outside then it's easy for them all to be dismissed as people who wouldn't have gone to the game / lunatic fringe / rent-a-mob. A 3min walkout is pointless as many people will probably only just start to be getting settled in their seats. You should leave it at 5mins walkout, have everyone outside singing whatever... "walk out if you want Lowe out" "come and join us all outside" or whatever on 5mins and all the ST holders that are taking part can leave at that point to join the march away.

Ineffective how exactly? I send and receive (push and fetch) email on three accounts. I can view attachments of .xls .doc .ppt .pdf etc, edit my spreadsheets and send invoices from my iPhone. I don't use Exchange, but could do if I needed to do so. I can send files by wifi to/from my iPhone. The touch keypad is intuitive and better than any physical keypad I've used. Baj is also a converted Mac user, so will find the synchronisation between the iPhone and iPhoto, iTunes etc sweet and beautiful. Plus of course it's a full blown iPod, has the best mobile web browser bar none, has the best and easiest to use App store available, YouTube, iPlayer etc etc etc. I love my aluminium MacBook, but my iPhone still gets more use at home than my MacBook or Mac Mini. If you're ONLY concerned with corporate email handling then I could maybe understand choosing the Blackberry; but, for anything else, not choosing the iPhone is the wrong decision.
