I have traveled home and away with Saints for the last 50 years and I find your comment offensive. At Brentford on Saturday some moron through a flare and it landed at my partners feet. She spent the second half in an ambulance struggling for breath and throwing up. Ruined a day out. How anyone can suggest that throwing a flare is acceptable behaviour is part of football is beyond me. On two occasions now someone in my family has been close to being seriously injured. I actually find your comments deeply offensive.

There was some arguments with a steward next to us. A Saints fan then lobbed the first flare today which then hit my missus. She then spent most of the second half in the back of an ambulance struggling to breath and throwing up as a reaction to the smoke. You don't expect to go to a football match and have to suffer that from your own fans. A bad performance you can deal with but not behaviour like that from some mindless idiot. Fortunately she is largely okay now but not up to dinner out which was our plan. Sort of puts you going to football.

Still waiting for ours. At least the Newport tickets arrived okay.

Dismissing the serious issue of an anti semitic Labour party is beyond contempt. Following the result last night at least the Jewish community can remain in the UK something that would not of been possible for many under Corbyn. Corbyn has always been a serious and real threat to the Jews. Friday night dinners around North West London will be both a celebration and one of extreme relief.

Rabbi Mervis is just reflecting the views of the Jewish people and the serious concerns within the Jewish community. Even the normally politically neutral Jewish chronicle has published warnings about the possibility of an anti semitic labour government. The Jewish community are rightly very concerned and if there was a Labour majority many would feel they could not stay in the UK. As far as the community are concerned the threat is very real. I struggle to see how anyone could vote for such a party unless they condone anti-semitic behaviour.

We have spent lots of money. The trouble is we have spent it poorly and have little to show for it.

It also landed close to my grandson who was at SMS for his first game. I dont expect him to have to dodge smoke bombs at football. So people are not over reacting. Unacceptable behaviour by Liverpool fans yet again.

Jo Swinson (and the Death of the Liberal Party)
Berkhamsted Saint replied to Tamesaint's topic in The Lounge
Jo Swinson will be a success for the LibDems as she took over the party at the right time. Due to the horrific anti semitism within the Labour party many traditional Labour voters will switch to the the Libdems. It all depends where her positive momentum takes them as a party and whether they can build on it long term. -
I struggle to see how anyone who isnt anti semitic can vote for such an openly racist party.

The contract and the friendlies are not connected. -
I find it amazing that anyone could still vote for such an openly racist and anti semitic party in the 21st century. The panorama programme is truly embarassing for the labour party and I am amazed that one in four to one of the five of the voters will vote for them based on opinion polls. Or is it that 20% of our population are anti semitic?

Amid the joy, what a story to wake up to.

It was offensive because of the anti semitic comments made to us as we went past not because of the subject matter of the protest. -

My partner is Jewish and has a season ticket in the Northam. She does not consider the term Yid racist nor did we hear anything offensive yesterday. The Liverpool fans anti Israel pro Palestine on the the bridge to the stadium a year or two ago was much more offensive but no one said or did anything about that. -

Last night the guy in the Forest shirt was definitely not the guy in Israel. The guy in Israel is a Forest fan who has connections with Colslaw/Tossa and traveled with them to the European games that season. -
It concerns me that posters on here are dismissive of antisemitism which is why it is such a major issue for the Jewish community. If the threat is non existent then why does the local synagogue need to employ permanent security. I think people in non Jewish areas like Southampton are ignorant of the level of racism the community faces. Perhaps this is not the forum to continue this debate. The fact that the community feels threatened is reality. The fact you consider us to be a bunch of drama queens shows you are not really interested in how we feel or dealing with antisemitism. So I will withdraw from the debate on the Labour party.
-
I am afraid the Jewish community views things very differently. They have a different perspective I am surprised you just dismiss the level of antisemitism within the Labour party. I think it is hard for Labour voters to accept the threat of racism and the dangerous antisemitism threat that exists within their party. The attached article gives an insight to the issues being discussed. http://www.melaniephillips.com/time-leave-question-jews-britain-europe/ Whenever the next election takes place if Labour win the future of the Jewish community in the UK will be discussed in many Jewish homes and options considered. My in-laws have already made the decision to leave and are now in Spain. Clearly some will stay but some will leave if the institutional antisemitism within the Labour party is not dealt with. I personally think that Momentum and Corbyn will not change their position.
-
It is a shame you find it boring however for the Jewish community it is a major issue. My partner is Jewish and the genuine discussion within the Jewish community is will we need to sell up and leave if Labour get elected. There is lots of evidence of anti semitism within the Labour party and genuine fear by the Jewish community. Try living with this level of uncertainty and whether it will be safe to stay in the UK if Labour get elected. Consider the uncertainty on your family, home, job business etc. If your not part of the community I doubt you will understand how people feel. Irrespective of the broader political debate how anyone can consider voting for an openly racist party is beyond me. Too many people and labour supporters are dismissive of the anti semitism issue. Perhaps they should put themselves in the position of the Jewish community who have to suffer it and live with it on a daily basis.

Jack Cork Finally Offered New Contract
Berkhamsted Saint replied to Andy Durman's topic in The Saints
Whilst I accept he was coming back from injury his performance yesterday was awful. He is now well down the pecking order and with a fully fit squad is unlikely to make the bench. I think he will reject the contract offer and leave. Did a great job for us in the Championship and first season in the Premiership but we have improved and he is not quite good enough for us now. I am a little surprised that we have offered him a new contract. I understand he is keen on a move to Palace. -

Sorry to hear about your daughter. Unfrtunately this is a mental illness which she will battle with all her life. The one piece of advice I would you give you is research addiction as a broader subject. There are believed to be 3 main addiction groups and she will be very vulnerable to addictions that sit in the same group as someone who is anorexic. If you do some research it will help you spot the signs. The other challenge you face is that she has to want to deal with the illness. Until she reaches that point sometimes professional help can not do anything or being as effective as you would hope. I wish you luck on what will be a long journey.
