And lack of proximity to the away fans also takes away an edge I think, hoped it would work but think it'll be flat especially with more performances like today. Our supported up their game in the play offs but was never going to last
-
Does seem like an odd move and we could do with him yo add some attacking flair , discussing today we used to have Brooks, Ryan Fraser, Stu Armstrong who could travel with the ball , missing those and we just look so so slow on the attack
-
You'll be fine Grandad, of the 3,200 allocation we've sold roughly 2,500 tickets. 700 remain in final block (123) so if need be move into there, can take your pick of empty seats to spread out a bit. You'd hope we'd win but 1) Martin showed at Gillingham last year he doesn't care much for this comp. Hopefully fewer games this season he'll take it more seriously 2) Cardiff away last season, I will never know how we managed to lose that game despite dominating, remember it for Stu Armstrong bad injury.

Yeah you can see there's a general acceptance amongst the fans, no one watching that thinks we can survive, let's just plan for the championship next season.

What's the lowest number of goals ever scored in a Premier league season?
-
Yeah it's a shame, looks like a fan who won a competition to play.
-
Poor performance so easy to play against, we'll lose this game unless significant changes in 2nd half. Disappointing but not surprising so far. Zero threat up front
-
People keep banging on about that mistake, but if we'd taken a couple of the 19 shots we had it wouldn't have mattered. Forward line just as responsible for Newcastle defeat as the keeper.
-
Carabao Cup 2nd round game in a few days and none of them look worthy of a call up for that. Meghoma now playing more attacking role , not sure if permanent or to accompany Larios (who looks like he'll need a lot more games to get back into it)
-
Been textbook Saints tonight, ineffectual up front , giving ball away under pressure at the back and loads of possession without doing much with it
-
I think weather will clear up, bigger issue will be actually getting to the game with some big cruise ships in and southampton gay pride parade , worth allowing a bit more time than usual

I found this interesting explaining some of the spending restrictions https://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/24537013.premier-league-profit-sustainability-works-means/

Is this going to drag on all season?
-
If it is a cup final v Forest I think we know how that ends, a 3-2 defeat , at least Brian Clough isn't their manager still
-
Yeah wondered if they had made any changes there or what the reason was for not using Totton, didn't get many fans but was good to have the option to go along
-
Kingsland Centre is the new front line , you'll be expected to take on the duties of the Itchen North and intimidate the away fans so don't get too comfortable
-
Hopefully will improve the atmosphere but likely end up with different blocks singing over each other rather than in unison. If, and its a big if , we manage to get the three points then it will undoubtedly be the best whey whey wheeeey we've even seen from Martin
-
I've been to see the u21 team quite a few times last couple of seasons at Totton, been free for Saints season ticket holders. Notice this seasons fixtures show home games being played at Staplewood, anyone know if these will all be behind closed doors as usually don't allow crowds there?
-
Is it a bubble trip to Swansea? No doubting what you're saying but would have thought they'd be massive demand. For their game v Saints in carabao Cup they've only opened lower tier side stand for home fans so not expecting many!
-
Talking to my Forest mate he reckons they'll try to hit us on the break, probably let us have most of the ball, he also asks if Diaz will need to sit this one out due to concussion/ head injury rules, anyone know?
-
Leicester got lucky, Spurs were incredibly wasteful, could have been out of sight if they took their chances. By the end was a relief that Leicester only got a point and not all three.
-
Think I read new drop off is Brittania Road where away coaches used to go
-
Yeah was low down on list of preferred away draws, although always feels a bit special crossing the border and some good pubs in Cardiff for those arriving early enough. Being in a bank holiday week and still the school holidays we might take a few more who wouldn't have otherwise gone. Leaving it a bit late to get the tickets on sale and posted out
-
Everyone seemed to except defeat against Newcastle, expectations were low and helped cope with the result, I sense expectations are a lot higher for this one so pressure on the team to get a result. First home game with the new Northam wall, looking forward to seeing what the atmosphere will be like , fans need to be up for it.

Got to avoid those away days social media accounts, full of inferiority complex skates, Leeds, Geordies all desperation to tell everyone how amazing their support is , can tell seeing 3,204 Saints fans selling out at Newcastle really wound up the Skates ...but but but scummers never travel blah blah etc
