Just worked out how much my SP30's cost on Insurance
Jimmy Gabriel's Halo replied to dune's topic in The Lounge
I declared an SP30 to Aviva a few years ago and they said they weren't interested on the basis that "everyone is getting them now". The whole thing's nothing but a money making exercise anyway. Even my mother and aunt, who are both in their late 70's, have picked up speeding fines after a lifetime of having totally clean licences. Not that I condone the excessive use of speed in inappropriate areas you understand. -

You may well be right. I reckon there's enough about him though, from what I saw, that good coaching could bring out even more. IMO, of course. -

I liked the look of that Colin Daniel the Macclesfield winger in t'FA Coop game at the weekend. Tall, well built, pacy and knows where the onion bag is. Could be worth a punt. -
See me later boy. I got Chemistry A level you know, albeit about 150 years ago. The chemical formula for nitrous oxide, or laughing gas, is in fact N20 with the figure 2 being smaller and to the low right of the N. N0 is nitric oxide, a different thing altogether. But I get your drift...

Should be interesting to see how long those two scumbags last inside. Is there not a very high percentage of black people in prison ? Some of them may be out to make a name for themselves by wanting to wreak vengance upon them.

So, to all you experts out there - what do WE do ? Do we pull all our cash from the Banks and keep it in a tin under the mattress for a year or so ? Do we buy gold and bury it in the garden ? Do we stock up heavily on dried/tinned food and bottled water just in case the supermarkets run out ? Interested in what you all might think.

Why so ? Don't understand what you and Sour Mash find so frustrating about the fan profile. I guess you could call me "middle aged" being 58 now but do you think that just because you are younger that it makes you a better fan than someone who is middle aged ? I count myself lucky that I've got this far in life, I have several friends from my school days who have alrady passed away at very young ages in some cases. When you twentysomethings and teens get older and wiser you will see what I mean but, in the meantime, please don't live under the misapprehension that you have a monopoly on life. It really isn't that bad being middle aged you know. I can still sing and shout as well as anyone, I'm still fit (40 odd sit ups most days) and being 58 doesn't stop me getting a boner every morning at 7am. So cheer up. -

Utter cr@p. Nuff said. -
This bl00dy hurts - I have to work with some of those BHA fans..!!! HOWEVER, this result might do us a huge favour by making NA and NC see how much we really do need to strengthen if we are to maintain the progress we have made this season, albeit unexpectedly. So, long term view is still fairly positive I would say.

It's a fact that the UK is known as "treasure island" by foreign based companies because we will just put up with higher prices and not do anything about it. As for the price differential between goods and services here and in the USA, the usual reason/excuse is because there is a much greater market in the USA with a 250m population than here with what 65m. Thus many more items can be sold over there at a smaller profit per item but greater overall profit as more can be sold. What we need is a revolution here, brother.

Bl00dy hell, if you think there's a problem here now may I remind some of our younger viewers of the "ale house boozers" from the 70's. Big John McGrath, Jim Steele et al, now they REALLY knew how to sink a pint or several. Not that I'm condoning that but the present players are positively lightweight in comparison.

Absolutely spot on as are all the other posts saying Brizzle were the better side on the night and probably deserved it although we might have got a draw out of it with a bit more luck. SDR terrified their left back, the albino one, BUT the final ball in from him was mostly atrocious. If only he could get that right, what a player he could be. -

Chimbonda appears to be nothing more than a self serving mercenary (allegedly) who's had more clubs than Jack Niklaus. Wouldn't touch with a barge pole. -
I have absolutely not the first idea what you lot are on about

Great game, I'm 58 now and still have my original pitch and teams I bought when I was about 13/14 in the mid sixties including Saints of course of which I have various strip variations. Also have many other teams from the sixties in the strips they wore back then. You may be interested to know that the original "heavyweight" teams can make a lot of money on ebay - check out the Saints blue away strip from the 80's/9o's and any short term strip variations are much sought after by collectors. There is an active group of top players meeting regularly just around the corner from me here in Worthing, some of whom represent England I believe - and yes it really is played at international level so the game is still very much alive and kicking and can be very skilful. I live in hope that our recent one-off anniversary strip will be produced by the company that makes the game - I have an international Peru team that is similar.

B()gger !! Living so close I was hoping to get one. Word of advice for those going: get to the stadium early, preferably 1 hour before KO, especially if going by train or you will get stuck in the crush at Brighton station. You can pass the time by quaffing the Harvey's or local guest beer which will be specially available on the day. If anyone does end up with a spare ticket though.....

It should be more Python-esque in its' delivery. A bit ape-like and out of synch. If you know what I mean. it would be funnier. -
Chr1st on bike - that is SCARY....!!!

Thank you mog for putting me right. You may appear as pedantic as you wish (as long as it is not as pedantic as our resident pedant - no offence MLG) As someone who does not eat the aforesaid beef or lamb in any shape or form I am indebted to you for the information. However Mrs JGH and JGH jnr and myself do eat something of simiilar description with turkey mince which is very nice too thank you very much. We also eat cottage pie with fish which would be Fisherman's Pie and is also very nice. I haven't thought of a name for our cottage pie with turkey mince - perhaps other posters on here might be able to help with this. I may even start a new thread asking for suggestions along those lines.

Please could you expand on the cottage pie. Not enough info on it. What sort of mince did you have, lamb, beef or turkey, for example ? Thanks.

S'funny... I quite liked Rat In Me Kitchen. Agree that Signing Off was a great album, I bought it at the time of release, raw and a breath of fresh air at the time a bit like Joe Jackson's Look Sharp was. And there was a Rat In me Kitchen the other day too. Bl00dy cat, bringing it in the house.

Back on topic. On the train home to God's Waiting Room last night there were a few disillusioned 'Ammers fans talking about the game. Amongst the comments I managed to earwig were "The best side won" and "Southampton played some sh1t hot football tonight" which I especially liked. They were strong but one dimensional as has been suggested above but they were the best side we've seen at SM's so far (which isn't saying much, I know) and despite some detractors on here, should we finish above WHU then we will be champions because they will push us. I would not write them off at all at this stage especially if they spend money they haven't got in January. But overall, very satisfying.
