We don't want them here thank you very much, Mr Buctootim....!! This is not actually our non league footy team which is Worthing F.C. and plays in Div 1 South of the Isthmian League. It's a massive new project aimed at youth development in the town and surrounding area, part lottery funded I believe. Nevertheless, impressive facilities for the nippers when finished. Which wouldn't last long if those fishy fokkers got anywhere near it.

I'm not having that. There's one in Eastbourne...!!

What song would you want at your funeral?
Jimmy Gabriel's Halo replied to kwsaint's topic in The Lounge
A couple of songs from the Ivor Biggun LP - "The Winkers Song" and the other one about farting. And assuming I don't die without warning I shall be recording a speech which will start off with me sounding like I'm banging on the coffin lid...."let me out, let me out, I feel much better now...!" For some unknown reason though Mrs JGH objects. I have no idea why. I think it's funny. -
Last day - down to the wire I'm afraid. It's 2 from 3.

...and just to pee off the skates even more the train service between Portsmouth and Brighton is severely disrupted today because of engineering works so the journey time from Fratton is about 2 and a half hours just to Brighton plus the journey to Falmer. Extra buses are being laid on where the line is closed but I really wouldn't want to be doing that journey myself... Which is why I have to drive to Southampton today and not have a beer or three in The Angel...

Hmm... I had an ex-sister in law tried a similar stunt to that - on members of her own family I might add...."Oh, the cheque in the envelope must have fallen out of the bag.." She turned out to be SO Walter Mitty/Billy Liar that my brother was awarded custody of their kids... That really is so LOW Corp.

Does anyone know if it's possible to buy men's winklepicker Chelsea boots or shoes in Southampton and, if so, where ? I thank you.
-
Call me stupid but I fail to see how a collection of buckets would be of any use to anyone let alone the skates.

At it again Sour mash ? You're a very nawty boy !!

Are you, even by the smallest teensiest weensiest chance, related to Mack Rill no matter how distantly.....?
-
Because you'll then realise that a few fans chipping in to save the club would be like trying to drain the Solent using a leaky thimble. On a very rainy day. Are you Jeremy Clarkson by any chance ?

Wake up to 5Live in the mornings cos I like to know what's happened whilst I've been ZZZZZing and as I drive a lot I listen to that or a CD or 2 during the morning. Other times (like right now) it's Planet Rock and Jazz FM on DAB (particularly recommend Robbie Vincent on Jazz FM on Sunday mornings). Solent for Saints away and for those of you dissing them you should try listening to some other local radios - the sports coverage on Solent is pretty good compared to some others. For those on t'interweb I can also recommend FIP Radio - it's a French station playing non stop music of any type from opera to heavy rock to punk to soul to jazz... anything and everything and no chat except for their news once an hour. Anyone living in Brighton will be able to hear this on FM as somebody in town is boosting the signal. Other than that nada. Here we are in 2012 and mainstream radio is still pretty carp.

Yes, i always wondered why he felt it necessary to discuss his toilet habits in the public domain. I'll bet the carpet in his house is very worn out and stinks of p1ss. A bit like TCWTB probably.

Hmmm, sounds a bit fishy to me. Very apt Mr Trousers.

What have we got planned for the Skates

You'd better start now then or you'll never have enough by April.... -

Now here's a conundrum for the blue few to have nightmares about: let's assume both Glasgow Rangers and *ortsmouth do go into admin later this week and let's assume both are available to buy at knock-down prices as a result and let's also assume there may be a willing buyer in the form of a mega billionaire out there willing to make a small fortune from his already large fortune. One of these clubs has a huge, passionate but possibly bordering on the insane, fan base: a long, if not that successful, history of European cup football: many league championships and domestic cup wins; a proper infrastructure, youth set-up and a well known world brand name. The other one is.............. well, *ortsmouth. Which one would he buy ? Hmmmmm. Difficult one, that.

Lallana went missing on his way to Barca but I hear he's been found in a field in the country.

The official unofficial January transfer targets thread..

As Jos is now injured - ham-string ? what 3 weeks out ? - the requirement for more cover at CB has now become urgent. So what odds on Matt Mills or St Leger coming here ? Both did well for Leicester last night, albeit against our off colour forward line, but there are newspaper reports of Nigel Pearson wanting rid of Sven's high cost, high earning signings and either of those two may well be on their bikes. We could do a lot worse. I did regret losing Mills when we did as I thought he would turn out OK despite him thinking he was too good for us. But we do need cover and quickly. -
One of them wants the council to make Nottarf Krap a Listed Building, which would save it from demolition without Listed Building Consents. Bearing in mind how ancient that place is it might not be as daft as it sounds...:lol:

Chez, I would have felt absolutely gutted as would we all. But if those are the rules, those are the rules and they have to apply to everyone regardless. When I quoted the example of Richmond they were one of the top sides at the time equivalent to any of the top 4 in the EPL today. Imagine the earth shattering consequences should admin happen to one of those under the RFL rules.

Went to the rugby today to watch my home town side Worthing play Launceston in National League 2 South which, if you don't know, is at level 4 in the rugby hierarchy. Here's an interesting comparison to see how the RFU deals with clubs in financial difficulty. Last season Launceston went into admin and were docked 20 - TWENTY - points which resulted in their relegation from National League 1. They were only relegated becaus eof this points deduction. And to show even further how the RFU has the b@lls to deal with this sort of thing in 1999 Richmonf RFC, one of the top sides and the first to embrace the new professional era in rugby, went into admin when their major backer pulled out. As a result of this they were relegated NINE, yes NINE tiers down having to start again at a VERY low level. They are now also in the same league as Worthing and are currently top of NL2S having fought their way back from virtual oblivion. Why, one asks, do not the EPL and FL have the b@lls to do the same thing ? Oh, by the way Worthing won 24 - 16 having been 16 - 12 down until 2 minutes from time. It was a good afternoon.
