  1. Older supporters (and sadly I am one of them) may have been at the Charlton game in the old Valley in January 1963. This was one of the worst winters ever and the game was abandoned midway through the second half in a blizzard. The ground was a huge bowl, mostly uncovered and the terraces at the start were snow covered and icy. Little deference to health and safety then. I remember returning from Waterloo in steam train and at Central Station the front three carriages were totally encased in ice. Those were the days!
  2. There are a number of good breweries in Hampshire who would happily bring along a few good barrels of fresh, decent beer and sell them until it was all gone. It is the corporate ties with the beer companies that we are fobbed off with appalling fizzy keg beer. Even so, the catering companies in charge of the current inferior produce could at least keep the lines clean. Too much to ask though.
  3. How about filling glasses to the brim. Sometimes they are barely three quarters full and the bar staff will not top them up. The caterers must be making a fortune from short measures.
