    Ruben Selles

It's alright he's probably got Kolo Toure next on the spreadsheet
  2. Redmond has to go in the Summer. Perfect opportunity to whip a quick ball in and goes backwards
  3. Shows how times change when this name is mentioned 7 days after the thread starts!! I would have said the same until Redknapp and Puel came along
  4. That dressing room is lost without a doubt
  5. I feel like we should have done in January with the links we had to Walcott, Sturridge, even Balotelli. The club now needs to sign a few established players like Cahill, Delph, Drinkwater or dare I say resign Lallana/Schneiderlin/Clyne to lift the whole side and fans and bring a feel-good factor back. The club can no longer keep signing unproven premier league players as its not working. We have lost the momentum we had from consecutive promotions, we can't sell the Champions League dream that we did with Mane, Wanyama, Osvaldo, Van Dijk et al - the best thing we can do now is sign this type of player to reignite the fans and team...whilst offloading the new bunch of dead wood we have accumulated. The summer failed, Elynoussi is worse than Boufal, Armstrong is no Steve Davis (who was well established in the premier league before going to Rangers) and Vestergaard is a headless big chicken. Angus Gunn is better than McCarthy but the hierarchy aren't willing to drop an average goalkeeper....
  6. Life lock blah blah blah - Not looking good on this stream
  7. Looks like this one is doing it! http://ripple.is/football/2265-west-ham-united-vs-southampton
  8. Thats the FF I remember
  9. Can't believe Redmond, what was the point of him being out there as first man if all he intends to do is get out of the way of the ball!!! ...in fact what is the point in him at all.
  10. Two not mentioned yet are Ronnie Ekelund lifted a poor Saints side with only Le God to rely on and Andrew Davies in the dark years lifted a very poor defence. After Davies left it would have to Perry, Lucketti and Richard Wright...not to mention the impact of Stern John as well that year before relegation from the Championship special mention to Chaplow who twice made an impact on the side in the early Burley years, and again from League 1/Championship promo years.
  11. My first Saints manager, how is he now 70! Sad to see him so old.
  12. Is it me or has Holberg started to look drained of any confidence under Puel. He just looks like he is regressing as a player every game.
  13. Clearly missing Tadic, just hope Boufal finds his feet and does not become another Ramirez or Osvaldo. I seem to remember Mane took time to adjust initially, just hope its the same with him.
  14. I take it you never watched Jason Euell in the Championship
  15. Dodds coaching at Gosport now
  16. Still better than Boruc, which is progress for us.
  17. Hassan Kachloul? made a big impact for 2-3 seasons in the Dave Jones years.
  18. What's happened to filip djuricic? have i missed something? think he's a better option than Elia on the bench
  19. don't think he got up at all during the game!
  20. Yeah, we were left with just Ostlund and Bartosz/Davis from the previous season's defence. It kind of has echo's of this coming season - as Bale, Kenwyne, Baird, Cranie, Viafara and Best all left that Summer
  21. looking back I think the starting game in 07-08 was the start of the downfall. A 4-1 loss to Crystal Palace with the back five of Bartosz, Ostlund, Bennett, Makin and Vignal.
  22. Just looked through a few past programmes whilst clearing out the spare room and came across some from 2007-08 and 2008-09 season and had completely forgotten some of the players that played for us albeit a handful of games. Gems such as Ian Pearce Christian Dailly Stephen O'Halloran Alan Bennett Phil Ifil Chris Lucketti Youssef Safri Oliver Lancashire Our defence was sure was ropey back then What are your lasting memories from 5-7 years ago?
  23. Cardiff's right back was poor Theopile-Catherine today. Also thought Jon Flanagan was a weak link considering the Liverpool side he is in.
