Prime example of whats wrong with the modern game. Yes we dislike pompey, and now they will be hit with points deduction due to admin and will probably spend a good number of years in the wilderness (or disappear all together) BUT what punishment will Storrie get ? Which club is next ? Just like Peter Risdale another one that pops up, takes his cut from football and then f*cks over fans hopes ! Of course Pompey deserved points deduction etc.. but who really suffers (and forget the pompey/saints divide for a moment). The players will move -loyalty means nothing, Grant will find another club, Storrie more than took his share SO is football properly policing itself - obviously no. Storrie needs punishing - running off with one of the biggest salaries for a CEO in football isn't punishment.

Its paid for now isnt it ?

I predict we will win comfortably and that all talk after game will focus on how Puncheon / Lallana / Barnard are world class and that play offs are possible. Stats will be produced, praises will be sung by all and euphoria will be abound UNTIL Hartlepool where result / performance will drop, Puncheon is now actually sh*te, Lallana should be dropped immediately, play-offs were NEVER possible and that Pardew should go. All IMHO of course

I reckon some Harry Hill style fiiiiiight's between forum members - Some obvious match ups: SOG Vs Alpine Saint 19C Vs Daren W Glasgow Saint Vs (actually this would be more like royal rumble) You know the usual suspects where one of them posts something vaguely negative and you can guarantee that their arch-nemisis will soon arrive to battle it out..... Must be better than whats on offer now

Isn't the sensationalism bit in the press more linked with the fact that this legal high is causing parents AND schools problems as when under 18s are found to have it in their possession there is nothing that the adults can do about it. Usual kids response is that its not illegal wot you gonna do about it ! Maybe short term solution could be to at least put age limit on supply/purchase same as fags, alcohol etc.. as its the school kids that obviously are the main concern. I'm sure we all smoked / drank when under age but if you were ever caught at school with fags then at least teachers felt they could act. If you want to do drugs then thats your personal choice but hopefully you will make that choice after due consideration. When your at school are you really making a considered decision ?

dogs (talking ones !)

Would go along with that - although I would add that I'm happy to trust Pardew on judgement of who he wants in and out. Lets not forget it wasn't that long ago that a number of fans/forum members were saying we should offer Preston 1mil immediately for Trotmann !

Thank-You Didn't know what Panna Cotta was either

Apart from Pompey which other club out there do you not like and why?
SnailOB replied to dune's topic in General Sports
Bournemouth - Always remember a testimonial we played down there and the venom that came from their support surprised me at the time No better than Pompey fans IMO -
Need a good old fashioned midfield general. Someone who can mix it up and lead the team. Hammond is our captain at the moment but i'm not sure what qualities he brings to the table in that regard. Other than that - not a lot wrong as some of our football has suggested recently. Yes some results have been very disappointing but performances against Norwich/Leeds/Walsall/Huddersfield have been superb so we do have the potential/ability.

So AP is looking to leave - says who ? One poster ! So lets start looking for his replacement then - even if it might not be true ! And so normal practice resumes

Mainly sums up how I saw it. Defensively - biggest problem was distribution. Passing from the back by Thomas, jaidi & Fonte was shocking. Against leeds and the hoof game they played these guys could just defend and put power and pace on their headers. Swindon kept the ball down mostly and when our defence had time on the ball their distribution just put us straight back under pressure. Basically Swindon played our game better than we did. That said we had more chances and if not for the post / bar etc... it could have been our day. As for debate on AP - i would still want to see him given the start to next season because we really have played some great football this year. Just annoying when you see players put in a great performance one day and then play shockingly the next. Is this APs fault ? - Not sure but unfortunatley always the manager takes the blame. Tired of knee-jerk reactionaism that calls for managers head all the time. I'm not going to start spouting off about where we have come from, what AP had to start with etc.. but try and judge on how we have played recently. At the moment its jumped from sublime to poor so consistency is the key. But i still think AP can deliver and like i said some of the football has been a joy to watch recently. AP knows our weakenesses and he has done his best to look at every problem we had from day one - No scouting network (now in place BUT probably too late for finding the likes of Austin), No backroom staff (now in place), Poor squad (now addressed, signings so far have been good), problem goal scoring (certainly addressed this season) - next aim, consistency, and I am willing to give him the opportunity to address this next season, unfortunately its not my call.

As always ticket pricing plays a big part. How many people are taking their kids this year because tickets are either free for under 8s or very cheap? I would guess that due to the fact the pricing structure has been very good this season there has been a big increase in children attending helping to boost the figures This year is the first I have taken up the opportunity to purchase season tickets for my kids - hardly an expense at all. Obviously as the team/club progresses then ticket prices are bound to rise so will be interesting to see if many parents will be able to afford to take the kids in the future. Its nice to see big crowds but would say talk of increasing capacity at the moment is a bit premature

Fantastic performance - isn't it nice to go to St Marys in a positive frame of mind. Loads to overcome yesterday - Beckfords theatrics, Leeds cheating, and possibly the worst refereeing performance I have ever seen. At times the decisions were so bad that the only conclusion you could come to is that Walton was a blatant cheat. Yet despite all that the boys showed great resilience - a very deserved win. AP has certainly put together a great team that are also playing some great football. All Leeds could offer was a big 'hoof' all the time. Great game, great result - can't wait for Swindon.

IF Rickie were to go we would demand a 'good' fee and I can't see any PL side wanting to take 'a chance' on a player that has spent most of his career in the lower divisions. Lets be honest, we bought him because he was a proven goalscorer at THIS level. After seeing him this season for us I think he is superb but if I we were now in the prem and Rickie was still banging them in for Bristol Rovers - would we be looking at him ? Not meaning to dismiss his qualities, just trying to think how others outside of Southampton would be thinking about him. I'm not sure any PL sides will come knocking if there is any kind of fee - and we cetrtainly do not need to rollover anymore with transfer fees. I would think CCC more likely but don't think anyone there is really in any better position to compete with what Southampton can offer RL at the moment.

With regards to the OP/Thread - tend to find that those with more posts tend to have a bit of history with certain posters and that too many people tend to argue with the poster than discuss the actual thread. I have followed this site for a while but have only really started posting recently and already have picked up an idea of who the 'moaners' are supposed to be and who the 'happy clappers' are supposed to be and who is whose arch-nemesis etc... and its a shame because when you read individual posts on most occassions they all have something of interest to say that gets lost in personal agendas. It would be nice to have balanced debate without being labelled troll/moaner OR happy clapper but its difficult - too many people want to see things as black or white - Shame really but i suppose thats the curse of the internet. When I post i try to envisage how i would argue my point across a table in a pub over a pint or two - find this helps keep some of the abuse out of the posts - would be nice if some posters could think the same.

Can't see how the post confirmed your point at all. You made a ridiculous thread and someone answered in relation to that particular post. Seriously after ALL the comments - none of which backed your view - you still think you are right So far can only see that MOST people are p@ssed off with your ridiculous post !

Thanks for the reply (and trust you enjoyed your drink). I was not questioning our standing with regards to the top of the table. I agree with you regards to the poor start. I am just concerned that AP has recognised a trend like some of us that we cannot perform against those 'lower' sides that we would/should 'expect' to beat BUT he does not seem able to rectify it. Maybe i'm being a bit melodramatic - but if AP has recognised it and seen fit to state the same publicly - then maybe i'm not. Not worried so much for this season as some others may be - more concerned about this in relation to next season if we are still in L1. If we have to fix this (which you believe we don't as you don't think there is a problem with this) then I would rather we start so now and not in August.
