He isn't being written off. Point is that the quality needed in the team now should be comparable to the former group. Unless you'd be happy with more signings with the profile of Pied?
Price doesn't matter, a good player can cost relatively little or a lot. We just really need to find the quality of Mane, Hojbjerg, VVD, Bertrand and Tadic and less of a Juanmi, Cuco, Pied, Clasie or even Romeu.
In the real world, the pro's and con's of decisons aren't measured by the reaction of a couple of hundred fans on a forum. Mane being sold so early in the window is dissapointing on the basis that we haven't replaced him even though the season has started.
Looks that way at the moment. If we continue to look limp up front I hope Puel isn't stubborn with a formation which doesn't work. Pretty obvious that 4231 is our best bet against our options. And the Redmond-Henry talk is just bizarre.
Unlucky fixture to get with Mourinho's first home game, Pogba hype etc so the result is not surprising. They would expect to beat us. I thought we were tidy in possession but pretty toothless. Long and Redmond don't play as a unit and our fullbacks are woeful. Bertrand returning will be a massive plus. Attacking midfielder and striker is a must.
There is plenty to be positive about overall but do you expect this thread to be overly positive considering it's about summer transfer targets and there is really not much to discuss on that front, hasn't been for a while now...except some cryptic info on super secret deals being done?
Or... Why were we so quick to let Mane and Pelle go whilst not having a replacement in by the start of the season? Regardless of how much we spend doing it.
This is just the consequence of being in the Premier League in this era really. Every established prem club can afford it. The main question is whether we have enough to show for the players sold and revenue gained beyond a season Europa League group stages.
