He had a decent based season but if we are to play a possession based system with fluidity needed from the forwards, I don't think Austin will work out here. His all round game is poor, much like Sharp and plenty on here failed to understand that a few seasons ago.

You could replace Austin with Billy Sharp in these kind of posts and it would be 2013 all over again.

They also got Coutinho at the time we were after him for a modest price so there will be plenty examples of both. It's not an excuse for settling for less quality overall. A couple of weeks ago the happy clappers were adamant that that Long, Austin and Rodriguez was all the quality we needed.

It was always going to catch up with the us yet plenty of divs on here keep banging on about some amazing model we've come across for sustainable success but the reality is that it's based on two seasons where we had momentum behind us and a good manager.
