  1. This has been on the cards for a while.
  2. I think Puel is using the squad really well. Each variation of the side put out is clearly there to try and win the game and not just to make up numbers.
  3. Quite disappointing. With the amount of money being flung around at the top end of football, you would expect contributions from players and club charitable foundations to easily surpass his target. 25k from Saints players and the foundation is pretty poor IMO.
  4. Brilliant player. Every manager we've had since he signed has thought so as well.
  5. You can easily register your father in law on his behalf so he has a customer number and then allocate all tickets you get for him to it. I do this for my Dad who also isn't really engaged with all the online purchasing stuff. He has little to no knowledge that this even happens but at least he has a history.
  6. Donated. Incredible effort. Doesn't even sound humanly possible. Good luck Franny.
  7. Exactly. Pretty bizarre comment.
  8. Doubt it. I think there are plenty who manage to reach the top without the grubbiness.
  9. Mainly this but with Lallana at the tip of the diamond and Mane up top with Rodriguez on the bench.
  10. Exactly. He went wider to give Targett an outlet a couple of times but otherwise, his "wide positions" were pretty much in line with the edge of the 18 yard box.
  11. What are you on about? He wasn't in the game throughout last night but still had some class moments. He's been our best attacking player this season.
  12. Koeman preferred Martina over Cedric for a large part of last season and nothing this season has shown that this should change.
  13. There is a weird paranoia about every odd poster being S/C. This definitely isn't one of them.
  14. I'm old enough to remember when the same thing happened with Sadio Mane and James Ward-Prowse in 2015 but what we saw today was simply disgraceful. Maybe Tadic is a bit anxious because he knows that colder weather and even a sprinkling of snow is around the corner?
  15. Could well be. Come Sunday eve though and still no wins this season....
  16. It's "i'll" not "i'm" in this context.
  17. Potentially a great deal for Spurs and terrible one for Newcastle if true.
  18. He probably doesn't. He'll need to work hard and improve to get in and keep his place as they have good players. Plus a chance of European football and more money. Exactly like Redmond. As far as I can tell, Sissoko isn't replacing anyone at Spurs so your point is exactly what?
  19. There wasn't any need for you get hung up on the post, literally. What I wrote is an example of what improving the squad would look like (in response to a question) rather than just trying to replace like for like, not the merits of us keeping Wanyama or whatever. P.S. You can't seriously believe that relegated Norwich sub Redmond would be in a position to expect gaurenteed first team football at 6th place Saints?
  20. But the point is that so many on here cite the 7 years constant improvement which is only relevant to the position we found ourselves in at the time and has no bearing on anyones ability to look at our squad now and say if thd balance of the team is right, the quality looks right etc etc. Yes, top teams have "taken" a lot of our players but they have given us tons of cash for the privledge. I don't think we have done enough with that to ensure we do have a sustainable model to regularly challenge for European football. We've had two summers of selling high and buying relatively low wich has nothing to do with tge five years preceding that.
  21. Well, you kind of did in your post. Even still, I don't see how our League 1 days in 2009 have shaped the expectations of today. I think finishing 6th, 3 points off the Champions League with a good manager and team is more relevent. Why shouldn't we expect an ability to compete to that extent again? Not saying we 100% won't but it appears many are not confident.
  22. Not a pop at you in an unconfrontational thread but why do we group the last 7 seasons under a supposed strategy which is only really 2 years in maturity? The two L1 campaigns, the Championship and first two seasons in the prem based on a completely differen't dynamic which was largely based on player retention and gradual improvement.
  23. I don't think he's taking about direct player replacements. Improvement of the squad would look more like retaining Mane and Wanyama whilst adding Redmond and PEH to the squad as an example.
