  1. Reed: "we're not looking to sell Ryan this summer. We like to keep our best players here so any offer for him will probably be met with a no. We have the best LB options in the Country thanks to our academy which is the envy of the land" Two weeks later, Bertrand goes to Liverpool. Just got back from July 2017.
  2. Seeing as we were apparently trying to get a CB but failed, I doubt VVD recovering quickly has anything to do with it. Nothing about this situation seems calculated.
  3. Phil McNulty has said we were in for Sahko.
  4. Failed with a late loan deal for Amat from Swansea. What a mess and how desperate.
  5. The guy is a dinosaur. £10M relative to the fees banded about at the moment would be a ludicrously bad deal.
  6. No doubt with a clause included which guarantees at least 15 mins playing time every game.
  7. Absolutely incredible over 2 legs. Claude Puel master class! Everyone to a man put in a heroic display.
  8. I think Yoshida is going to be so good now that he might just pip VVD to that big money move to City.
  9. People still think it's 2004 and clearly haven't grasped the economy of the PL in todays World. £8-9M isn't that big a deal. There not many 1-2M transfers involving anyone with top PL experience behind them anymore. I agree that the fee itself is not something to get all giddy about.
  10. Not sure why people have to pretend they are not bothered about someone who has been a fundamental part of the spine of our team for many years leaving. Or that he is no longer any good or an important player for us. That's just ludicrous but by SWF standards I'm not really surprised.
  11. It won't when we continually diminish the quality of our side at the same time.
  12. And we know this how exactly? Is this one of those things which if repeated enough on here becomes absoulte FACT forever more?

    Cortese's Dream

    Long may it continue
  14. The Romeu better than Wanyama momentum gathering on this thread and others is laughable. Wanyama kept him out of the side for pretty much all of last season and he wouldn't get in the spurs side ahead of him either.
  15. IF we even bother getting anyone first team ready at all.
  16. I'm sure Puel doesn't want to players to not be able to shot properly or convert chances. He needs better players before he can judged. No sure Koeman would have faired much better with these midfield and forward options.
  17. Did I not read on here something about a bloke in the 80's who would turn up to the Dell with celery sticks and everyone would go mental and sing a song?
  18. I'm not 100% sure of the timeline but is it not the case that Fonte handed in a request in the summer?
  19. You are, by some distance, the worst poster to ever post here. You are ball thrush to this forum.
  20. As far as this season goes, a few decent wins and a midtable finish is fine although our form and playing style at the moment may suggest that this may even be a bit too aspirational. Overall though, the quality of the squad and out manner of play is not good enough and we've not really taking maximum advantage of recent "success" in line with he proposed aim to be the best way f the rest, ready to pounce.
  21. If true this needs to be dealt with shiftly to avoid a few hard years of work unravelling pretty quickly. We're not Chelsea and can't afford to ditch a season through players revolting against the manager. Rightly or wrongly, Puel will have to go.

    JWP

Strength of a 7 year old and the athleticism of an OAP. Can only play well when carried by others snd shouldn't be starting against a midfield like Spurs which has too much pace and power for him.
  23. Ridiculous for anyone to call for Puel to go. He is doing a decent enough job to with the poorest team we have had for 3 seasons now. His main mistake this eve was picking JWP but other than that, he has poor options up front and a liability keeper in goal.
  24. I think Puel see's him as the next Sergio Aguero and will convert him into one of the Worlds best strikers.
  25. I think I may have posted something a while back about it being known in finance circles that we are "actively" up for sale.
