  1. who is to say that he wants to be a prem striker? at 28 he should be there already. He had opportinties to join CC teams over us and if he had done so he would have a much better chance of making it sooner than coming to us. Perhaps he is happy to be part of the project here, at best it would take 3 years for us to get to the prem so he can't have been expecting it sooner. Unless of course he is using us as a stepping stone
  2. I also think he will stay. I get the impression that Rickie is a very content type of player. For all his obvious talent I'm surprised that he has never played at a higher level. Perhaps he has never been pushed hard enough but I suspect that if he is playing well and happy then we won't go looking for a move. Just interested to know however, how much you think would be a decent offer for him if someone does come sniffing around?
  3. in today's Guardian football rumours. I'm confident that we will keep him but if he is getting interest from prem clubs it may be hard. Everyone has a price and all that, so how much do you think someone would have to bid fo us to let him go? I think around 3 million would do it.
  4. I wouldn't. He was ok for us but seemed a little shaky from the Brighton game onwards. I'm also not sure if him and Jaidi ever really "clicked" like a successful defensive partnership should.
  5. [/b] so in other words, you had rickies left testicle on the tip of your tongue?
  6. Exactly the same situation with me. I've got tickets via the corporate route but if it wasn't for that I'd be left gambling on getting tickets once they go on general sale.
  7. 1-0 will do just fine. Goal off Rickies left testicle will do just fine. We just need to win.
  8. are you the guy who posted the same thing on 606 that everyone was laughing at?!
  9. imagine the carnage it would cause if we actually did make the playoffs and then lost..... doesn't bear thinking about!
  10. so the question is would you taken the league title next year over a playoff place this year without knowing the outcome of the playoffs?
  11. it was intended for the OP but I agree. As much as it would be nice to have a league title, getting back in the prem by any means possible has to be the goal
  12. there is a difference between making the playoffs and winning them. Do you mean would we prefer promotion via the playoffs this season for via winning the league next year? I'd prefer the former
  13. Lets hope so! Massive game tonight, can't wait!
  14. he has demonstrated that he can deliver results, especially against the objections set for this season. Some will continue to pretend to know what NC expects and go running behind NC comments about league results. We have a great squad for this level and are now finally in a position to play our best 11 week in week out. I can't see us losing many games now and this will put us in good stead for next season. Surely the last thing NC wants is to divide the fan base and turn us into a circus once more!?
  15. Alpine- do you really think that this senario is that inconcievable? As fans we're not the one's which need to not be complacent....tell that to AP and the players. However if we decide to have high expectations for next season then whats the problem with that!?
  16. kenwyn took player power to the etreme and refused to play.... can you see lambert or anyone else doing the same? In any case we got 6 million and stern john. This was an excellent deal for us but this club is after success not a quick buck like the old regime was so found of
  17. Thanks for just quoting one part of my post and using that to ridicule it.... Of course there is such a thing of player power, however if a club doesn't match our asking price then there is no deal to be done. I think that Lambert is enjoying himself here and has just got a house locally I believe. Can't see him going anywhere but of course I could be wrong.
  18. It won't be Lamberts choice, it will be the clubs. We have no need to sell anyone and I believe that NC is hard nosed enough not to let anyone leave just because they want to. Ultimately we would want a huge return on Lambert, Fonte etc and I think this will price them out of most clubs sight. It would have been very naive of the players to sign with the view of going up this season and I feel that the true test in keeping this squad together will be if we fail to get promotion next year. In the words of dannysfc, but we will see!
  19. Thanks for the advice saint stevo, I often just come on here and post randomly without Reading the op. how silly of me. The OP is about whether you would have taken the senario in the OP before he start of the season? How is that dressing anything up?
  20. who is dressing what up?
  21. whilst I'm dissapointed that we havn't seized a couple of opportunities to push on and gain some momentum towards the play offs I agree with the original post. as a fan base we are not used to this league and we may have to get used to the fact that it's tough! How long have Leeds been down here? what's their excuse?! For me, going to these ****ty little horrible little places in the ****ig rain on a cold nightn and grind a result is the last piece of the puzzle. we simply have to do it to get out of this league but I'm willing to wait a while longer for AP and the players to learn. If not then we have to get someone who can. I'm confident that St Marys can become a fortress for us (hasn't been in some time) and I'm also confident that we'll get good results against teams who want to play football. AP has to get us winning games like tonight though in order for us to 'walk this league' next season but to not credit him for coming in and building us the team we have now, getting us comfortable in the league and taking us to a cup final would be unreasonable IMO.
  22. ha! I think you'll find that a large percentage of my posts have been in direct opposition to Glasgow! But me and him are best friends now so there will be no more of that.
  23. Well just incase I'll quote everything you post from now just so they don't miss out on the fun! Big statement from AP..........lets hope he and the team pull this off. Maybe a little premature on the basis on one win against Norwich (we've not been playing like a top 2 side in the league prior to this) so maybe he's seen enough in training to get him excited.
  24. How can anyone put you on ignore Glasgow?....they are missing all the entertainment
  25. You should always be able to pick your strongest availible side! It's those that are not availible which poses the problem. You can take the quote many ways but I see that as an indication that he has been waiting to put out that team for a while but hasn't been able to due to the cups. I wouldn't be against Connolly starting when fit but I really can't see him playing week in week out. AP will probably have to wrap him in cotton wool a little in order to prolong his career here so I see Barnard starting up front with Lambert more often or not. Mistaken or not, the point I was making was that I hope that AP doesn't tinker with the team just to fit James in. As you say, when he is fit and availible then we'll see!
