I doubt he looks much further than the mirror and his bank balance.

If that's true, we'd need another attacking full back option for both left and right otherwise our entire formation is dependent upon the availability of two players in Bertrand and Cedric. In any case, I don't think there is any evidence to suggest that Koeman is reverting to 3 at the back, he had plenty of opportunities last season with better suited players and didn't do it more than once or twice.
-
Cracking bet. I'm sure you fully earned that with a thorough statistical analysis on both teams.

The Everton game was on a Saturday ***exits MLG mode***
-
Cedric didn't play last Thursday.
-
I'm sure Koeman wouldn't mention anything serious or potentially serious in such a blasie way if there was much to be worried about. Even a slight infection or virus will show up in bloodwork.

Hoooooof

You remember correctly. He was criticised a fair bit but he was injured and seemed to be adjusting to life in the prem as captain.

Jesus, this thread is about comments from BFS regarding the number of players we have sold and he clearly isn't just talking about Clyne and Schneiderlin. Within all of this is a clear and obvious talking point around how sustainable it is to keep changing the first team and always get it right. We did well last year. Remains to be seen if we have replaced as well this year and there are question marks over other players now, including one of the successful replacements of last year. I don't have any issues with Southampton FC, and no annimosity what so ever about last season. Why would I? I invest a lot of my time and money into following this club, it you think that I wouldn't enjoy success on the basis that last summer I said that selling 5 important first teamers is not a good thing to do in addition to losing the manager and coaching staff then I think you and S-Clarke are pretty deluded.
-
We've started poorly and people are moaning about stuff that happened at the club a year ago. Not on this forum. At Southampton Football Club.
-
Haha, I didn't hate it, who doesn't like a bit of a whistful walk down memory lane?
-
Think you need to read your post again because you are clearly wittling on about what people on here have been grizzling on about. Who at Southampton Football Club are moaning about what happened last year?
-
Just pointing out that SA was talking about amount of players sold over the last year and you end up writing out our last few years transfer windows
-
This coming from the SWF king of the one-up manship opportunity. I highly doubt that there are any real Saints fan, even the weird ones, who wouldn't have enjoyed last season. Maybe you take this place a bit too seriously but I'm sure 99.99% of people don't let some interactions with faceless goons on the internet alter their enjoyment of the team they support. You've almost definitely won the award for most mentions of Everton today BTW. Maybe Turkish can count them for you.
-
I just mentioned that SA was referring to the two summers collectively. Weird to expect anyone, Saints fan or overwise to think about the turnover in players on the basis of this summer alone. If I've upset latest acceptable linear way of thinking then I apologies.
-
Hope so, and I hope you get your long awaited cup run. The chances of us doing well in any competition is obviously enhanced through having quality players all playing well within the system which the manager wants. We've struggled to create consistently for a while now yet we were build on a solid foundation. We're heading into a season having not really addressed the creativity through the midfield and with a backline which looks very different to last year (incl Morgan) so there are some legitimate question marks.
-
Clearly he is talking about the last two summers collectively and in the context of rumours about further departures.
-
I largely agree but the general reactions from the usual lot on here when anyone even dares suggest that we've lost some ground this summer is pretty funny. You can't suggest that we should be keeping our best players where possible and adding good quality to the side without some of the smug, hyperbole counter arguments coming right back at you.

What a bed wetter BFS is.

Look mate, the sooner you get the fact that everything Saints do is f'ing brilliant, the better. We're just a poor little club trying to make do the best we can with our limited resources. "What could we have done"?! is the cry of the day around here. You don't want people to think that you're being mean to the board or expecting Kat to spends her billions on the first team do you?
-
At what point can we return to this when he doesn't get sold for £25M?
-
Because that would be a around a third of a season and we can't afford a passenger in the side for that long. Games aren't going to make JWP any quicker or anymore of an athlete, he lacks to many physical attributes without any skill or guile to get by anyway.
-
Good job we did keep Morgan for that extra season otherwise we may not be on our European adventure this season. Surely people can see the need to balance sales with what's right for the first team? Just like Les and Ron insisting that no first teamer will leave in the remainder of this window. What's everyone actually arguing about?
-
He's a different player to Morgan but if he has another good season then we could be. If we get 3 years out of a player like Wanyama and make a bit of money then job done. It's the constant need to replace many players from many positions which is the big challange.
-
This story really isn't anything which we didn't ready know. Of course Wanyama would like to move to a bigger club and get more money if the opportunity arises and he's never going to re-sign. No point people getting upset about it just because it's written down. No surprises here at all. Just hope he gets his head down and plays well this season.
