  1. This is really it! There have been a couple of times this season where we havn't capitalised on the slip ups of those we are chasing. Hopefully this will really fire up the lads for Monday.................it's not over yet!
  2. You havn't provided any stats or any facts...FACT! You have provided us with a point of comparison to now which suits your argument. In order for your point to have any validity, you need to do some analysis on what has happened in the said period you have provided. I can do the same thing. At the start of the season we were 24th with -10 points. Today we are 10th with 54 points plus with the second best GD in the league. Progress!
  3. It's not a fact, it's your OPINION and how YOU quantify progress. You seem to have such a narrow and simplistic view on football it really is becoming hard to take anything you are saying seriously.
  4. Well I personally don't want this to happen. You can argue that his pragmatic approach will impact our push to the prem and you may even be right. When you look at what we have achieved in a short period of time I think there is alot to be optimistic about. You do talk alot about the pragmatic approach but I don't think this is the only element to our play. Yes, we use Lambert as a target man but that is what he is good at and it is effective. At the same time, we do look to use our pace to counter attack (papa's goal on Sunday was excellent).
  5. Don't think many would argue with that
  6. Not exactly "simples". Football would be ****ing boring if this was actually true.
  7. I'm happy with what we are getting Derry so the penny has already dropped.
  8. He can't, they lost to Bayern on Wednesday
  9. I think comparing what we did last night to what Utd did a few years ago as a comparison as to why you feel AP got it wrong is a bit strange. In any case I can see your point as we need to be as positive as we can be if we are really serious about the play-off's. Whatever formation we went with, last night was always going to be a difficult game. Brighton would have relished the prospect of doing the double over us and to bring us back down with a bump after Sunday. Would you have been happier if we played 442 and still drew?
  10. Yes. Hindisight is a wonderful thing and who is say that if we had played 4 4 2 we wouldn't have lost the game? The fact that we made some late changes and put pressure on them late on doesn't meant that this would have happened from the start. It always happens when a team is defending a 1 goal lead. They get nervous and cautious allowing us the build presuure but they wouldn't have had that mentality from kick off.
  11. What was the correct team? What would the score have been if we had played it?
  12. IMO excellent managers don't reach a sell by date. They either leave a hero on their own terms (Curbs) or they jump ship when a better option becomes availible No one knows what impact he would have here and I just wonder on what merits people think he is "excellent" and a better alternative to AP?
  13. Ask the Bristol City fans if they think Gary Johnson is an excellent manager.......they have been giving him stick for most the season up until he was sacked.
  14. The difference next season is that we won't start on -10 and won't have such as terrible start to the season meaning that dawing away from home against teams with their own reasons to scrap for a result won't be some kind of horrendous failure like some people on here believe
  15. I'd love to hear who these guys think would have come in and done a better job?!

    Papa Waigo

    Brilliant! Hahaha
  17. can you explain that again please
  18. When was the supposed booing? Was it before the match or during? I heard boo's (only a few) for Lord M when the teams were lining up and also more boo's (much louder) when the mexican wave was going around.

I was sat in the club wembley section and the overwhelming majority in the club wembley blocks where saints fans so I'm not surprised by the stats. You're not allowed colours in club wembley seats (not really enforced at all!) so many people were not wearing colours.
  20. Sounds like he's loving life. Go on Rickie!
  21. the boo's were because of the carlisle fans not joining in with the Mexican wave, end of! The sky people put 2 and 2 together and got 5
  22. exactly, the transfers of surman and others bought us valuable time to get the sale of the club through, very unfair comparison and if it hadn't have been for our situation he wouldn't have gone to wolves. I'm more confident than ever before that we are in a great position to keep players we want and failing that if someone does leave the investment will go back into the team.
  23. Wow.Certainly puts thing into perspective. AP's task coming in at the start of the season was immense
  24. Well said FC. A couple of months ago when we had the "poor results" and "failure to beat top 6 teams" debate yet at the time we were playing a disproportionate amount of away games and we still had most of the top 6 to play again with this team. For many reasons this has been a slightly strange season considering the start we had, -10 and the cups runs which required us to chop and change the team and have a few home games pp. I don't see these as excuses, rather critical observations when trying to summarise the season. The issue is that because of everything which has impacted our promotion chances, normal results which happen over a season to all teams suddenly become an indictator for under performance
  25. yep same thing here, I kept rewinding and fast forwarding like some kind of deranged idiot before it clicked that something had gone wrong
