  1. You are correct that pressure is the nature of the game, especially for managers.......however the issue here is the suggestion that AP is a marked man before we have even kicked a ball this season. If NC has any doubts over AP's ability or indeed see's him as a "weak link" then he should have got rid this summer or backed him to the extent that there are no question marks over his faith in AP.....it's a shame that these lingering doubts are still here only 2 days before the start of the season
  2. That doesn't make it right though.....I think that knowing that you're only ever a couple of bad results away from the sack does nothing but undermine our promotion campaign imo
  3. There is no reason why we wont go up this season. We will have the odd struggle and some poor results against poor teams like last season but we wont have -10 and we wont have a start like last season again....no way!

    Libellous posts

yep, really can't wait for saturday win, lose or draw. It has been painfully frustrating and boring on here this summer, the worst since I became a member..... It's kind of ironic actually seeing as we have alot to look forward to going into this season. I just think too many fans have been tainted due to years of false dawns and general **** coming out of the club and don't seem to get any enjoyment out of it....shame really
  5. Agree Kracken- my only concern is CM as I think it's very important to have cover for MS and DH- Wotton isn't a long term solution and doesn't push MS and DH. It would be great to have someone to come in and do more than a job if there is injury/suspension and to also push for a starting place in the team....I'm sure we are looking though but should imagine that it's difficult to find someone who is good enough and happy to fight for a starting spot
  6. No......I will be slightly miffed if at the end of transfer + loan window we havn't added the cover we need but I seriously believe that within the next 28 days we will bring in two or three players I also think that the new PL 25 man squad limits has had a ripple on effect this summer as many clubs will be waiting to see who doesn't make the cut for their prospective squads so I can see lots of loan window deals going on all over the place.
  7. I wouldn't be surprised to see Tyson signed sooner rather than later
  8. The truth is Alpine, like the rest of us, you have absolutely no idea what our transfer activity has been like this summer so to call it half-arsed is a very strange statement to make, especially when there is still time left to get the cover we need. You seem fairly convinced that AP and co have been sat around all summer making daisy chains instead of actively seeking the right players which anyone with some common sense would know isn't the case- I'd rather we signed players later than we maybe would have liked if it meant 1) we get the right man 2) we get the best deal. I'm sure that we will make more signings before the window closes as do many others so can you please keep your insecurities and paranoia re this on the countless other threads you've hi-jacked with your doom and gloom merchant inspired views.
  9. 118243 12876452 When will I recieve the ST? So excited
  10. My Brentford supporting mate said he is injury prone so probably for good measure!
  11. This thread and the several others which this topic has spilled into. Tiresome indeed.
  12. Because I think the point has been made to death now. The lack of notice was poor but ultimately the decision has been made and that's that
  13. You do make some valid points especially in relation to the lack of communication and because of the delay in announcing the ST details for no real apparent reason. I think it's difficult to judge the impact of this move from a business perspective until we know the percentage of ST sales which were paid by installments in previous seasons and the administration costs attached as a result.
  14. Just out of interest does anyone know if any prem teams offer installment plans for their ST's?
  15. We also have a much larger potential fan base than Exeter. Perhaps the club feel that with success, more of the 32k which filled the stadium regularly will return, installments or not. Exeter and the likes do not have that luxury and therefore, those which pay by installments will make up a much higher percentage of their season ticket holders than us. Therefore they can't afford to lose those which do pay by installmets
  16. Perhaps because we are investing money in some players which are worth more than the entire squads of said other clubs in our league
  17. And who is going to administer the accounts to see who is defaulting on their payments and then take the subsequent action of revoking the season ticket? All this comes at a cost and with the UK economy looking very fragile, perhaps they are aticipating high administration costs linked to those who pay by installments....
  18. So that's just you then

Happen to agree. The more I think about this, the more I don't want this to happen anyway. If Adu was a random player no one has heard of but with the same record, most people would be very dubious about the potential signing. I'd much rather one of Antonio or Papa on the basis that we know they cdajfu.

You guys have just made an horrific memory re-surface
  21. this place really is awful without a takeover saga or similar drama going on.
  22. AP has stated many times that he wants to build a team capable of making the step up to CCC and then the prem. If he see's Dickson as a player capable of doing this then should we not sign him on the basis that Harding had a good season? Your concerns around us not prioritising other positions are imo unfounded at this stage and I have no doubt that we will strengthen in the positions we all know need it.
  23. Spot on, I don't know why some are making such a big fuss of this. Ultimately it seems that we have an opportunity to sign a very good player by L1 standards and if we have ambition we should be ceasing this opportunity. I must admit though it's nice to see a debate about people worrying about players coming in then going out...........is this really SFC?
  24. That sounds conclusive!
