  1. FFS Turkish that's not the point! If they are not seriously injured now, it just means that the odds of probability mean they will be some time in the future. They may even leave the club one day FFS. The club really need to pull their finger out and sort this mess out or we can kiss promotion goodbye
  2. Weirdo/nutter?
  3. Yea because that happens all the time! NC is also a business man and by effectively managing it in the way you have suggested, there is ultimately no benefit to Saints. 1, if OX forced to stay against his will then his performances will drop and is likely to get nowhere near the team and 2, we lose a potential multi million pound investment at the end of it. If his head has been turned, there is no point in us forcing him to stay. We are lucky that he has a decent length contract, not because it means he will stay for the duration of it but because we can command a good fee. If he wants to stay then great because he a very important member of the team this season
  4. No it was written with a ball point bic...blue of all colours! Amatuers
  5. What players could we sign who can compete with Chaplow and Lallana (both of at least higher end NPC level) for starting places but who will most likely have to ultimately be happy with a place on the bench when both return from their injuries?
  6. Ah well, no harm in asking! If you had to put money on it today tatics, would you say he was leaving or staying?
  7. Ask him if he's leaving
  8. For all those taking the **** out of shane d, I can confirm that he is 100% correct. However I can also confirm that there was a slight hiccup. When the courier got out of his car at st mary's he accidently dropped the contract in a puddle. When the contract was placed in NC's hands, he was digusted to recieve a soggy and stained contract which he could barely read as the ink was running everywhere! NC (being Italian and all) saw this as a deliberate insult and is refusing to deal with Arsenal. Man City are now aware of this and as we speak, Carlos Tevez and Yaya Toure are now on their way to st mary's with their perfectly white parchment paper offer. Watch this space.
  9. There were other significant factors which made for the poor start... **** pre-season, pardew sacking, wilkins etc
  10. Don't be such a wrist slitter, a midfield of dickson, butters, Gobern and wotten (im assuming Morgan will be injured or sold) will see us all the way to the prem!
  11. Wouldn't agree that we have been "giving away our home grown talent on the cheap". We got very good fee's for Walcott and Bale (would have been better had we not cashed in early on the Bale deal). The reality is that we have an outstanding prospect who has only played a handful of league 1 games making his value difficult to quantify. Media hype and multiple big club interest will up the price along with the selling clubs willingness to hang on for him/need for money. What I don't understand is how you could use Darren Bent as some kind of benchmark as to how much we should value OXO at? Bents record in the premier league is excellent and only Drogba and Rooney have better goal scoring records over the same period. You wouldn't use those two as examples to value OXO would you? Personally, if the player wants to leave then I think anything over 10 mil (cash upfront) would be a good price. If the player doesn't want to leave then may as well ask for something ridiculous!
  12. No one has said that. It's just you and a few others going through the usual transfer window meltdown. Jan will come and go and we'll be having exactly the same debate come July. I can't wait
  13. You don't know the eventualities of either of the points I've highlighted. Again based on pure speculation and IF either were to leave in this window, are you honestly worried about the club not doing anything!!?? Or are you advocating signings of the required quality in advance of either potentially leaving "just in case". I'm struggling to see your point tbh.
  14. Darren Bent has no relevant to OX at all. He is a proven prem player with, as Steve says, the third best scoring rate in the prem over the last 6 years. OX has played less than 20 games in league 1.
  15. But isn't this exactly what the club are trying to do!? We seem to have this every window....speculation that the club are just sat doing nothing whilst the window passes by and everyone else are signing these amazing players which add so much more depth than we have. Since we have been taken over, have we really been let down by the three transfer windows we have had already?.... In my opinion, no. We know we have lodged bids for players and "substanial" ones to boot.
  16. The club know more than we do. You are basing your entire argument on speculation over AOX, Lallana and Puncheon. We have a chairman who will move mountains to see us promoted this season so I'm sure if the worst case senario's happen then we will be busy in the transfer market.....in fact we are already accoring to NA!!! So what's the problem exactly?
  17. TBF, this debate is probably happens in any team in any transfer window....it's just something which the transfer window promotes. I'm in no doubt that that our squad is more than good enough to get promoted from this league. That is a minimum expectation for all involved. However, should we sell AOX and Lallana's injury be mid to long term then I'm sure this will be addressed. We are in a tricky situation regarding transfers. We have the ambition and seemingly the money to pucnh above our station (in league terms) but we also need to sell a long term project to players who have the opportunity to fullfil their ambitions now..take Austin as an example. This will mean that we may miss out on many targets I'm sure but at least we are showing the ambition to try and get them in the first place. As the club have already stated that they have made substantial bids for players already, this shows that the club are actively looking to strengthen the side but they have also set expectations by saying that if they miss out on the targets then they are happy with what we have. I think the worry about the strength and depth of this squad based on too many if's, but's and maybe's

  20. I'm sure there are some greasy pics of the special one out there... It was all the range back in the day
  21. Howe looks a bit plastic to me, like a thunderbird. If we are after a proper dreamboat though, paulo sousa is availible I think
  22. Yes thank goodness FFS
  23. + 1. I'm also concerned about the players playing games and training in case they pick up injuries. I'm also shocked that the players are allowed to go their own way once they have left the building for the day....anything could happen to them...... Players these days are pro athletes with top class medical and training facilities. If we want success then having to juggle league and cup competions in just something we have to do. I'm sure Utd arn't worried that the game is a distraction from their league and champs league campaigns.
  24. No reason to think that we will lose as many in second half of the season as in the first. Most of our defeats came before NA and we have been in league winning contention form for a while now. Lallana will be a loss as any team would miss their best player but we'll just have to get on with it. FFS
