He is just one player though. We have managed to keep other important players and if it were up to the club, I'm sure that they would have loved AOC to sign a new deal as well. If his advisors have turned his head then the club have to do what's best when looking at the bigger picture. If we had kept an unhappy player then that wouldn't be good for the team and next year he would only have a year left on his contract meaning we would get significantly less for him. Despite the clubs philosophy, we're always going to be dealing with individuals who have their own interests at heart.

Providing that the price is right, I'm not really that upset that it appears he's off. There are other players in the squad who I'd be more concerned about if they left. There is no doubt that he has great potential and it would have been good to see how he progresses over the next couple of seasons with us. But utlimately there is no way of knowing if he's a future super star or a future Jermain Pennant. We've showed we can win well wiuthout him, now lets get the money and invest in the team. I'm sure NC and NA are on the case!

What's more important... That we have just been promoted and won our first game playing some slick and exciting football or that the chairman is on the front cover of the program? Does it really matter at all? Whether it be lowe, cortese or whoever else, it's just one edition of a match day program FFS

Having read about 4-5 of these season preview type of things, i've come to the conclusion that most are as ill informed as most of the stuff posted on here. It's like reading a season preview by NickG one minute and then one by Saint Lard straight after. Means a big load of **** all at the end of the day!

Yes but you can't keep an agenda running for as long as he has without eventually having to back up your argument. His whole opinion on adkins and saints in general is based on nothing more than assumptions and he can't handle it when people point out some of the obvious flaws in his arguments. We're not just talking about this thread, it's his constant need to have a dig at any given opportunity which is confounded by his inability to debate which is ironically what he's always accusing others of. I think he just likes the attention and knows exactly what sort of response he'll get.

You simply can't compare though. You can only do so much on little resources. The fact that a club like scunny were in the championship itself is an achievment. The time he spent with Scunny in the championship simply isn't comparible to being there with us. And that's if you are looking at it either negatively or positively

He only replies when he thinks people are berating him for having a different opinion. He hardly ever replies to those who provide a decent enough argument as to why they disagree. Just shows his inability to fully rationalise his argument. He'll keep plugging away with the anti adkins crap until the point comes where he starts to look very silly. Won't be long now imo.

You make it sound like taking a penalty is easy and that a goal is a formality. You still need somene with the mental strength, skill and technique needed to score them. I don't hear people constantly taking anything away from le tiss when mentioning his goal scoring record

He did have to play a different role last season but he was still up there with the top scorers in the league. Where he has been consistenly over the last 4 seasons at least. We all know he's not the most mobile of players but his other attributes more than make up for that. It' not his fault he was asked to do a different role.

Again 50 goals and over 30 assists in 2 seasons. Since when has he not been worth his place?!

Hopefully he just he just telling them how ridiculous it all is. If we were all infracted to the letter of the law on this place, hardly anyone would be left. It's a shame they seem to single out and target individuals who are usually the most entertaining even if you Love them or hate them
