I can't remember the official stats but the last 2 decades has seen a monumental increase in the number of people who go into the sea for recreational activities. This is increasing the frequency of shark and human enconters so attacks are on the rise as a result. Sharks are also coming in closer to shore to look for food due to depleted food stocks in deeper oceans. But you're right about the reporting. A shark attack is still rare enough to be considered news worthy and with a world network of news coverage, you pretty much hear about every incident these days. I'm a surfer and have surfed many a sharky beach in my time and it's not something I'm worried about. If sharks considered humans as food then we really couldn't be easier prey for them. There would be attacks daily. Most of the time its a case of mistaken identity buy by the time the shark realises that, you've usually lost a limb.

It's probably punishment as no **** actually bothered the answer to question in the OP!

I wasn't refering to the old regime. NA is a good example. Many posters were not happy with his appointment and the majority have since conceeded that he is doing a very good job. Others have stuck to their original convictions regardless of what happens on the pitch. Some in particular use this as a way of provoking a reaction......very deliberately. As someone pointed out somewhere in the thread, it you got something to say, say it and move on. But there are too many who can't do this and bring up the same issue across a broad range of topics. This is the main problem for me.
-
We're not just talking about opinions though. It's more about long running agenda's against certain members within the club and the constant need by some to look for percieved failings. These two things all too often end up taking over multiple threads. Not to mention the WUM's who take on a negative stance because they are looking for a reaction. It has nothing to do with a failure to take on others opinions.

I'm just sick of the constant conspiracy theories and over analysis of things which are probably no better or worst than any other clubs throughout the leagues. This transfer window is a good example. Ok so we failed to bring in a striker which almost everyone agree's would be of the benefit of the club. It appears we had our targets, but lost out for whatever reason. Why do we then start speculating that because of this we're either impossible to deal with, have no money, up for sale etc etc. If there was such a problem, how have we managed to build an almost entire new squad since NC as been here, including 4 new players this summer? This is just one example. The thread the OP shared is another. All I care about is how the team does on the pitch which for me couldn't get much better at the moment. I've seen my team promoted for the first time in my life, and have seen our best ever start to a season. We are playing really well and have a strong cohesive squad with some talented players and a mangager who IMO is very good. Forgive me for not believing some of the negative **** which is spouted about on here when all the actual evidence points to a bright future.

Yea I know what you're saying but these types of things can happen anywhere where there is booze flowing and are often very random and unpredictable. I understand that professional sportsmen need to have discipline and self control but anyone, anywhere should be able to go to a club and expect not to end up in intensive care, professional sportsman or not
-
I agree with 2 of your points but you can't expect young men to not go out to clubs for the best part of 15 years of their life.
-
Again though, why care? If you think it's pointless fair enough but individual posters can decide that by either posting or ignoring it
-
Why do you care if the thread is open or closed? You can choose not to read it

**** didn't know that. Would it be inhumane to lock him away in January?
-
One game doesn't define a player, good or bad. I can see why he'd be a whipping boy after that because we'd do the same to most of ours. But i still think that his time at Celtic isn't any indication as to how he does here. How many players have a nightmare somewhere but flourish after a move?...
-
Lets just hope his head isn't turned in January. I'm pretty sure the club wouldn't sell so it's really up to Adam. One thing which would help is if we're still challenging for promotion. I'm sure he'd love to play in the prem for us first and foremost. But there is only so long a player of his calibre can wait

Quote by Hypo: There is nothing I would want more than to have a load of people laughing at me as we romp to the title. I'm not saying told you so, this is the last thing I wanted Ok we didn't romp to the title but at least you have your wish of a load of people laughing at you!

How many champions league games has Pulis been involved in? How many titles has Pulis won? In fact how many games has Pulis played in his entire "career"? Branding him the new Pulis based on the opinions of some fans who have only seen him play a handful of times is ridiculous. I'm not saying he will be great but unless the guy has a blinder in every game he plays some on here will already be gunning for him.
-
Exactly. If he came straight from Copenhagen I'm sure more people would be more optimistic about this signing. They are champions league regulars and are certainly no mugs. To write him off or to already start referring to him in a derogatory way (Celtic reject ect) based on a handful of Celtic games (where they won them all I think) is stupid. Some fans just can't get away from the big name/big money = success attitude. Therefore they spend their whole time being "underwhelmed" or "dissapointed". Going back to last year it only took a rumour of MON or KK to be Saints manager for people to be dissapointed with NA....and that hasn't turned out to too badly so far has it?
-
No he hasn't, hopefully he'll have the opportunity with us. He is at a much earlier stage in his career though and I'm sure that should he achieve what AP has achieved in football (he already has one more promotion under his belt) he'll look back with mild dissapointment because he's showing the promise of so much more.

Shortely followed by managing west ham to their worst losing run in 70 years eventually leading to the sack and then being hounded out by Charlton after pushing them towards league 1. Adkins has done nothing remotely comparable

This is quite an interesting insight into the world of transfers by the secret footballer (Danny Murphy) http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/blog/2011/aug/26/secret-footballer-transfer-deadline-day Whilst it is about transfer deadline day I think it's still a good little look into the world of transfer dealings. Seems to be full of the worst type of traits....ego's, greed, deceit and generally a lot of backhand stuff going on. Clubs, chairmen and managers always clash during the transfer window it's nothing new, just look at Arsenal and Bolton at the moment. I'm sure NC still has some things to learn in the transfer market but let's not pretend that we're incapable of getting players. We've been very active over the last 3 years and built an almost completely new squad.....so can't be that bad.
