maybe everyone should get a life, enjoy the football and if you have an issue which effects you, contact the club rather than constantly ramming your issue's down the throats of people who frankly couldn't care less?
-
Unfortunately he doesn't. So he's still free to spend all day flicking between the spread of right wing propaganda, w/\nking and thinking about his next avatar.
-
Neither do I but some of the more cynical on here were suggesting just that.
-
One key witness did say he heard them use racist language. And where has anyone said that it can't work the other way around? Would you be questioning the racial motivtion if it was the other way around? I suspect not.
-
Because the alleged racial name calling happened away from the bus stop. Lawrence and his mate where confronted on their way back to the bus stop so it's very possible everyone else at the bus stop were out of earshot. Just because they didn't hear it, doesn't mean it didn't happen. The key witness (the who got away) is the one who said it was shouted at them just before they were set upon. Why make this piece up if it didn't happen? I'll use my head and suggest that as the gang are known racists, have a history or racial abuse and the public enquiry concluded it was racist that it was a racist attack. Unless on this particular day, they were not feeling very racist when they decided to single out two black men and stab one to death?
-
At least the other guy who was with Stephen who luckily managed to get away. Why are you even debating whether it was a racist attack? Only an idiot would think otherwise. The fact that one of the defendants had since attacked and racially abused a black plain clothed Police officer is another big clue.

This can't be true. We've been told by the experts on this thread that all invitee's are ST holders from the family areas and all live in the "good" areas of Southampton. Maybe yours and the other invites were mistakes.

If the outcome was the opposite of what you thought or wanted then it was probably the right decision. I respect that too.

Luckily you're not on the jury

This no longer applies in the UK

But they are not actually entirely basing their judgement on what is reported in the media. More important is the evdence which the prosecution presents which has also gone through the CPS. The influence of the media will always be hard to quantify anyway. Loads of high profile cases have attracted a media frenzy before the trial. If the evidence is good enough, it matters not. If these two get put down, would you honestly be losing sleep about the possibility of a miscarage of justice?
-
How many people have actually be aquited due to there being absolute concrete proof that they didn't do it? In my experience, not many. It alwas comes down to a technicality. And not trying the two because of the media impeding impairtiality would be exactly that. I understand what your saying but the burden of proof system is just a way so there will always be contentious issues. Sometimes common sense and instinct makes you think that even if a trial collapses, the right person is walking away.
-
Turkish, so what's the answer, not to try them at all? The fact that they have been in the dock twice now means that there has to be enough evidence for it to be heard. Media attention should not impact our ability to try someone if the evidence is there to say that out of everyone is the World, they are most likely to have done it.

Keep with the current course mate. This doesn't mean that you have to give up on the pursuit of the career you want as there will be many ways of achieving this. As has been mentioned, merely having a degree is enough for employers who are recruiting for non vocational positions. Dropping out half way through your current course means that you will forever be explaining why you didn't see it through. Even if the intention to drop out was good, the message which most employers will take from it won't be favorable. My advice would be to finish the course but put the wheels in motion now for the career you want to pursue. I know a few people who have forged good careers in radio and the wider media without a degree or with a non-descript non-vocational degree. Sometimes drive, enthusiasm, tenacity and a bit of luck is enough to see you to where you want to be.

Who cares if it is the 3rd or 4th thread about them? As mentioned, they are our next opponents and like it or not, there is clearly a bit of rivalry built up over the last two seasons. Why do people get so uppity about anyone caring about about another team other than pompey? It will be interesting to see what Poyet has to say tomorrow anyway.
-
You're exactly right Derry. But living in and working in Brighton means that I really really want to smash them.
-
They have another thread on NSC about a new song for Nigel. The OP wants to sing about Nigel never winning the league. Shall we tell them that he did infact win the league in 2007?! Stupid ****s.

I just want to know what the good news is

Relatively speaking this is without doubt the best Saints side I've ever seen. I was too young to remember 84, but even compared to our prem teams, these guys (as a team and unit) are miles better. I've never seen a Saints side play with so much style and identity with a winning mentality to go with it. The fact that they have done it in L1 and the Champ (so far!) doesn't bother me and should take nothing away from them.

this happened ages ago didn't it?
-
exactly, glad some of our fans see the severity of this hair raising issue
-
Bit of a contradiction there don't you think?
-
I can only think of one good thing about getting back in the Premier.
Dig Dig replied to Pilchards's topic in The Saints
I think that we shouldn't base our prem expectations on our previous time there. The premiership has evolved and there is decent competition outside of the top 6 say. It was always more structured when we were there and we mostly found ourselves competing with the bottom 6 sides. Nowdays, a team can get europe one season and then be in a relegation battle the next. I think this time around, our current squad with a few additions can compete for a mid table slot. Anything more than that will require the type of investment in our team which is unprecedented for us. -
Of course it does. Some of our fans are so short sighted. If Rickie can't find a decent cut in the Southampton area then that cheeky offer from Newcastle in the January transfer window will look alot more attractive. Wake up FFS!
