To be honest, we’re in a pretty strong position re Sulemana. He has four years left on his contract and we aren’t going to take less than what we paid. Not many willing to spend that much on him I wouldn’t think. Loan could happen but only if he can’t knuckle down
-
If we keep two from Alcaraz, Sulemana, Adams and KWP we will have had a very good window, pending replacements. Most teams in this league are shit and we will have no excuses for not getting promoted.
-
It’s more than that though, Manning understands the RM tactics really well and I believe has the most number of successful passes in the league. Fullbacks under RM need to be comfortable coming into the centre to overload midfield which takes a level of knowledge and technical ability. Yes he made a mistake and slipped on another occasion, but I can’t see Perraud playing the role better.
-
Not referring to what he might say publicly, just that he needs a squad he knows has the quality he can work with. Whether that’s existing or new players, it matters little to me at this point.
-
As long as RM is happy with the squad come September then that’s ok with me. He knows what he’s doing.
-
People do realise that this still isn’t the squad we will be playing the majority of the season with, right?
-
Very promising given the time RM has had to switch to that style and the uncertainty around players. Thought Smallbone was excellent 2nd half.

Are you sure you don’t mean climate?
-
I dunno mate, I didn’t read those posts from a couple of weeks back. Sorry Soggy got to you so badly. Keep up the good work.

It’s weather that will become more frequent, prolonged and extreme due to heat retention in the Earth’s atmosphere, thus climate change.
-
Oh dear, another who doesn't know the difference between local weather systems and the climate.

Guessing he is still on holiday to have not had any official pics/interviews? For what it’s worth, I think we’ve placed our faith in someone who we expect can do far more with greater resources and backing and is seen to have over performed to date, relative to what he’s had available. Time will always tell but he seems like a good guy and someone who will put everything into it without any baggage or ego.

If only we could get a manager like theirs
-
Horrible attitude, even worse quality.
-
Definitely something that is needed and encouraging. Tighten the team and ditch the likes of Walcott, Djenepo, JB et al for good.
-
Looking forward to the clubs PR machine working overdrive to sell the genius of Selles in the coming days.
-
If Marsch is up for a long term plan which could involve a stint in the Championship then I can see the logic in his appointment. Long term target of the club, knows the league and should be able to bring some positivity to the dressing room. Leeds have looked good in the few games I have seen them, even if they lack clinical players to get the result in the end, which can’t always be attributed to the manager. We need someone who has a philosophy that can work in the PL and to least get us playing coherently, even if it won’t work all the time.

Don’t most managers these days?

Currently hiding under a rock until Nat is gone! In more general terms, more of a lurking vibe on here these days. Something about seeing some of our best players training alone in the days before a massive home game prompted me to comment! Hope it isn't true but seems very Jonesy to me. Hope you're all good!
-
Wow, what an absolute shambles. Unbelievable that this is allowed to drag on. How much damage needs to be done before the inevitable happens?
-
It's about getting the right players regardless of their price. I wouldn't trust the club with c£30m signings either. Other clubs are extremely wasteful in that ballpark too. Everton have spent a fortune of players in that range and narrowly avoided relegation. Our "model" of buy low-sell high and repeat has not worked for years now because it goes to shit as soon as you get a couple wrong.
