  1. You think we got less for Lallana as he refused to play? If we get 20M for Mane, we will have been completely mugged off.
  2. The Leicester bit was quite funny but otherwise a good interview. Interesting to hear him talk about being ready should a chance of Champions League comes along. Not sure what better opportunity will present itself over last season.
  3. Players will leave for all kinds of reasons so it's not always about being on a level playing. This summer, it's likely that two will go because they can go to a bigger club and get paid three times more. Others will go because we don't want them or the player has an issue with the manager or role in side amongst other things.
  4. Well, you may need to read it again because he hasn't made it up: It is far from certain, though, that Pellegrini will be chosen to oversee the project Moshiri has in mind for Everton and a number of other candidates will be met this week. They include the bookmakers’ favourite, Southampton’s Ronald Koeman, and Frank De Boer, who has just left his position at Ajax. Both men share the same agent, Guido Albers. There is scope to consider whether this implies Koeman will be meeting this week or other unattached candidates but it's fair to say that the article "implies" as meeting.
  5. Same stuff which was up on the OS a few days ago. Wouldn't read anything into those comments either way. A player doesn't need to be "unhappy" in order to leave a club. It also doesn't mean that Saints aren't looking to offload to the highest bidder anyway.
  6. Exactly. We've seen how the issue has been brought up time and time again in press conferences even this season and it will only intensify as next season progresses. It is disruptive, no one can get away from that fact.
  7. Walkers even been better in this game. Hoddle is a moron.
  8. Whatever happens this summer with in's and out's, Koeman being happy and aligned with the club on decisions is the key thing in mine opinion.
  9. Glad they are not coming up. They have the weirdest mongrel support going. Full of corporates who rocked up post the Amex and everyone else supports Chelsea or Liverpool.
  10. But to pick Defoe (as an example) of someone who should go on the basis of form (and using goals as a measure for this) excludes the shape and systems of the team. Defoe is very one dimensional, he's never going to operate as a number 10, wide or drop deeper to any good effect.
  11. What's all the ******** being spouted? That nearly all nationals are leading with the same story?
  12. Do the Beckham stats again MLG.
  13. Also wonder how well it would go down on here if a 15M signing didn't perform for half a season when the team was up against it. The mouth breathers would be all over it.
  14. From the Mail on players most culpable for Newcastles relegation: Georginio Wijnaldum: A £14.5million arrival who looked like the signing of the season during the early weeks of the campaign, scoring four in one match against Norwich. But good players do it every week and Wijnaldum has barely lifted a leg since January. He still has not scored away from St James’ Park and suspicions remain that the team coach stops at Durham Services and Wijnaldum swaps places with a body double.
  15. Come on, that's poor. If he's available, he plays and nearly always for the full 90. He's in the same category as Forster, Bertrand, Fonte and VVD. Never dropped.
  16. No great loss, horrendous performances and terrible attitude but is one of the first names on the teamsheets for Koeman week in week out Romeu is no replacement for Wanyama, not even close.
  17. I'm not bothered because we'll probably get someone better anyway and finish around 8th next season which would be magnificent.
  18. I think that you're exaggerating his lack of passing ability and forming an opinion about his level because you don't like him. Fair enough. We won't have long to wait to see where he ends up.
  19. Not sure why people think he won't have many "better" options. If he and his agent weren't confident that someone big would be in for him, I'm sure a new deal with Saints would be considered but it doesn't seem it ever really has been. Fully expect Wanayama would be of interest to at least Arsenal and Spurs. This forum has talked itself into the conclusion that Arsenal wouldn't want him for example.
  20. Lol, what a mug.
  21. With a game to go and only 5 points off a Champions League place (#pieinthesky) it's reasonable to wonder where we would be without injuries and that terrible run of form around December.
  22. How? What an absolute mug.
