  1. Sorry to say, but I think we are fading away.
  2. Where is the dalek ? Is that Glenn Hoddle in the bar ?
  3. Scooby was a wind up merchant.
  4. Actually Terry Gennoe had been playing very well. The Final totally shattered his confidence and he never regained it. That game was the end for terry Gennoe.
  5. Can I just say, 'it is spookily quiet'. Anyone out there ? Hello ? Feel like the last Dalek in the universe.
  6. I agree with the setniments of many. There is almost a sense of quiet foreboding amongst the fans as we anticipate and appreciate the enourmity of the next few games that will either be the start of a great and dramatic escape or see us slide into the dark unforgiving depths of league One.
  7. If you want the long term reasons, go back to the Spring of 2004. This is when things began to unravel.
  8. Well, you have to make the most of things. League One is a new experience, if nothing else !
  9. Sometimes it takes a while for key facts to surface. However, it is true, to understand our current plight it is necessary to understand the events of the past, especially the long term causes. There are bound to be many key issues that will come to light, hidden by those who have a vested interest at keeping them in the dark.
  10. Bringing back Glenn Hoddle wouild be a possible option.
  11. I can't think about it.
  12. Hand bags at nine ?
  13. The key is Blackpool and Barnsley, are they about to nose dive and can we take our chances. If we escape, it is going to be close.
  14. This is similar to the Hoddle/Sturrock episode. Part of the board bowing to fan* pressure and appointing Sturrock over Lowe's choice of Hoddle. * In this case a small but vocal minority
  15. I suppose its called 'perspective'. If I remember the Branfoot style of play was when football in a general sense was going through a very cynical phase.
  16. StMarco's post is a very accurate summary of recent Saints history IMO
  17. On a slight tangent, Branfoot kept us in the top league so he was not as bad some people make him out.
  18. ' The Bald Eagle ' was great unsung hero.
  19. If you hate Glenn Hoddle on a personal level fine, but I hope that if you protested at his coming back to Saints in 2004 you are reconciled with the fact that this was the first domino of our slide into oblivion.
  20. Alan Ball was a fantastic captain. His passion and enthuisiasm was infectious. Ken Monkou was a good captain in some of our most difficult seasons.
  21. Cheer up Peter reid, Oh what can it mean, To a day dream believer
  22. This view from David Clausentum from rivals.net sums it up for me: In part we went down some years ago as fan power blocked the return of Glen Hoddle. A few weeks ago, i heard rumours Billy Davies could end up at SMS, and all the know it all's on the other boards knocked him and said if he comes they will not go etc etc blah blah blah. Look at Forest go. Will these know it all bigots accept any responsibility again for our demise, or is it all Lowe's fault? and as somebody siad ealier it was the 'first domino to fall', ie the failure to re-appoint GH.
  23. IMO we should support the players on the pitch WHILE WE WE STILL HAVE A CHANCE OF SURVIVAL. I am not optimistic, far from it, but we should wit until we are definately down before we start demos in the stadium on matchdays. We need to try and do something to bolster confidence at SMS.
  24. Is it too late to go into admin now and take a 10 point deduction this season ? Seems if possible the sensible thing to do. We may as well flog the remnants of the team and start planning the league 1 campaign now. I am being serious.
