I have been saying this for years but then again, there are reasons why some people want us to forget past episodes especially when their part in it is clearly something they would want us to forget about.

Agree. A manager has to have the respect of the players. Hoddle, Ball and WGS did. Sturrock does in the Lower leagues but did not in the Premier. We made a bad mistake appointing Sturrock in 2004. This was something that a few fans did not realise when they put their own selfish vindictiveness before the good of the club.

We did rush Sturrock. He was appointed at the last minute after the Hoddle appointment fell through. Hoddle had been planned for a long time in advance but was scuppered by a few noisy fans and a board that didn't have tha balls to stick to their original decision.

Why is it that many of the best managers are Scottish ?, apart from Burley, who did have his day at Ipswich ?

Footballers are the equivalent of the Roman Gladiators ! I think it is terrible, but how do you stop it. IMO there will one day be an implosion of the Premier League, most probably when it is replaced by a European Super League.

Lowe did well for a while, but his philosophy was taken over by the changing nature of the Premier League. Lowe's strategy became increasingly outmoded and he ws too inflexible to see what was happening and adjust his strategy. Lowe made good management appointments in Hoddle and WGS but the appointment of Sturrock was a big gamble that should never have been made. Lowe should have left after this episode, but we were already on a dangerous slide.

You are talking nonsense. The vast majority of fans would welcome Hoddle !

We have had 5 years of contemplating our navel. Can't people just enjoy this new era, we have been waiting long enough !

The swiss were always in the background, but we were lucky that the Pinnacle deal fell through. BTW IF Tony Adams is chosen as manager, if, we should at least give him a chance if that is who then new owners have chosen. If Adams has our support he has a better chance of succeeding and wha t a disaster it would be if our new owner left us due to a few moaning minnies !

How could anyone appoint Tony Adams above Glenn Hoddle ?

Who cares ? Whatever happens, the mood on this board is brillliant. I have woken from the nightmare and the world looks good !!!

Hoddle would be motivated, very motivated. He has a point to prove and that could take us right back inot the Premier league !!!!

Unfortunately you are in a small minority but with a very loud voice. ( same as 2004) After serioulsy damaging the club once do you think people would thank fans for doing it again ? if Hoddle is the choice of our new owners i would expect all fans to back him. if the owner chooses another manager, he will have my support 100% !!! Speculation that Glenn Hoddle will be the new manager of Southampton FC grows in intensity. Got to be good !
