Message to Left Peg, I've had 6 years of it, especially when I mention Glenn Hoddle v Sturrock episode. People are trying to airbrush out the past. -

Normally I judge the managers decsions by the end of the game. Maybe AP was experimenting. -

okedokey !!!!!!!! -
This is a league game, far more important than the JPT.
-
Yes, nothing wrong with the old days !
-
CBFRY the all knowing one.
-
ALL goals for us are good goals.
-
What a sad state of affairs they are in.
-
I think you are right on the first part of this comment. Can't remember thinking that AP saw the JPT as a priority. I always felt he saw this as a bonus.
-
Agree with this. AP has to start off with a flyer next season and by Christmas we should have opened a lead at the top of the League. Otherwise, that is it. IMO we are starting preparations for next season NOW !
-
You don't not what you are talking about. Just having a rant IMO
-
Although we won't make the play offs these are not 'maningless' games. We have to keep a winning mentality and see the rest of the season as preparation for our promotion push next season. Next year we have to go up and we need a top two place.
-
Diversion tactics from your own part in our decline six years ago. Are you going to admit to it !
-
As you have just proved.
-
Actually, many fans would NOT have minded Hoddle coming back. He had a good proven record as Saints and although leaving for Spurs was a kick in the teeth, there is little loyalty in football. In the grand scheme of things, Hoddle would have been a much better bet to see us through choppy times. I don't know how successful Hoddle would have been, BUT surely you agree he would have been better than Hoddle. As for other candidates available, if there were so many 'quality' candididates, why was Sturrock chosen. Most fans felt bemused at the appointment of PS.
-
That is exactly what I am saying. Who knows how long Hoddle would have lasted before he was replaced, most managers have a shelf life. However, we would most likely have remained a reasonably stable Premiership side and been able to dealt with it. Appointing a rooky League 1 manager in a side that needed experience, continuity and a certain amount of status at the helm was a stupid decision and undoubtedly began our accelerated decline !
-
No, this is were you miss the point. My campaign is not to bring in Hoddle, but to get certain people to admit that the origin. of our decline happened when 'a vocal minority' played a part in the appointment of a manager who was completely out of his depth over an experienced, tried and successful ex saints and England manager. Like anyone else I am absolutley delighted that we have begun the long climb to the top. But did we need so much pain. As for your other post. 1. I am not a WUM and neither am I a knob. I just want some people to face up to the truth and thier part in it. My campaign will continue !
-
Yes, but they won't admit to it. In fact, some have spent a lot of time and energy creating very effective smokescreens and diversions from the real story and their part in it. The vocal minority.
-
As I said CBFRY we ALL think you are right, as you know you always are, as you keep telling everyone and yourself.
-
Oh no, the great all knowing CBFRY always right. I bow to your superior opinions oh great one !
-
Maybe. But still flying the flag of truth some 7 years on !
-
Glenn Hoddle didn't have to make many signings, he was just very good at getting the best out of his squad of players. Surely, the sign of the best manager.
-
Mind you, kept us in the Premiership. As a management team better than the happless turnip called Sturrock. If we had appointed Hoddle, we would have still been in the Premiership.
-
Very professional win, snuffing out the opposition. We are getting there and more importantly is to get the winning habit ready for next year.
