Sounds like we are improving, but it will take time and we are very brittle at the moment. We must support Adkins this season and see what he can do, but there will be no quick fix.
-
We missed many boats over the summer, this being one of them.
-
You want to watch it mate, if you start calling for Pardew back you will become the new 'obsessive' in the Dalek- 'Hoddle should have been appointed mode.
-
How long is it now since we scored ?
-
We'll score again, Don't know where, Don't know when, But I know some sunny day we'll score again, Keep smiling through etc
-
agree with these sentiments. have made the very same point on a few occasions this season.
-
Instead of coming out the blocks and using up all our energy in the first 20 minutes we should play a more considered game and draw out the opposition, then hit them on the break. We may also have a bit more energy left for the whole match., I think too many teams know that they only have to soak up the pressure in the first 20 and then hit us on the break.

get over it will you. Start living in the present and think of the future. Pardew has gone for FFS. Obsessed or what ?
-
Time to accept that it is unlikely we will go up

Pardew is history, get over it. It will do no one any good banging on and on about Pardew. What is the point in trying to find out the truth about why Pardew got the sack in the summer ? Seriously, you are becoming obsessed. No, it is time to bury that bit of history, gloss it all over and move on. -
I hope NA has the 'clout' to sort out our players !
-
Yep i agree. I will try much harder to stop banging on about the source of the clubs decline ie the the failure to appoint Glenn Hoddle in 2004.
-
And proved to be one of our most successful managers. Rejected by the vocal and deluded few who are in a large response responsible for our slide to Div 3 status. Still, never mind hey.
-
Both Hoddle and WGS had the players super fit. We won games in the last 25, but since that clown Luggy, we have had a habit of losing in the last 15
-
Lets simplify things. Would we have more likely to have got relegated under Hoddle than Sturrock/Wigley etc. Most people would say no. Therefore, however you may have felt personally about Hoddle, he was much the better bet in 2004. A lot of people bang on about loyalty. There is very little left in football nowadays, just ask the S****horpe supporters.
-
Until we got relegated we had a 27 year run in the top league !
-
In games the players need to learn to be patient and draw out the opposition. They then need to learn to quicken the pace of the game and act incisively. Too much rushing about like headless chickens at the mo.
-
OK, in retrospect do you think that hoddle would have been worse than Luggy, had Hoddle been appointed as ws originally intended before the vocal minority started their campaign ?
-
Luggy should never have been anywhere near SFC in the first place, he was completely out of his depth !
-
LOL Sturrock had NO PREMIER experience when he was appointed at Saints manager. he was out of his depth from the minute he stepped through the SMS front door !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! In short he was a bloody disaster and was only there because the loony minority kicked off over the appointment of Hoddle !
-
If Keegan was really interested, he should have got the job.
-
That murky event in our clubs history must never be buried by those who want too, probably because of their guilt in playing their own part in the horrendous decline in our club !
-
You are right to pinpoint 2004 as the start of our decline, presumably you refer to the appointment of Sturrock over Hoddle. The result in no small part of the vocal minority.
-
Not Hoddle, but there you go. Good luck to ur new manager. We musr all give him our 100% SUPPORT !
-
That is the crux of the matter
-
I do remember and to be fair Alpine's concerns over the summer have proved to be correct.
